Keith | OTA
With things fairly quiet on the long range scanners, Keith decided to have a little fun in the asteroid belt. For the most part, he was just zooming around the belt himself in one of the shuttle pods from the Huntress. But, if anyone were to challenge him either through a direct request or flying next to him in a suggestive manner, he would definitely take them on.
You know you want to.
=====
hide and seek
This was a new one, and seemed really interesting, so he joined in when someone suggested it. Turning off the sensors (because where was the fun in it if you could just cheat, right), he slowly maneuvered around, looking for people when he was "it", or looking for caverns and other spots to slide into when he was one of the people hiding.
=====
chicken
Keith was terrible at turning down a dare or a challenge. Charging through at full speed to pull up at the last possible minute before that last massive rock? He was in. Shuttle jousting? Bring it on.
Racing
She opens up a feed to the other shuttle.]
Hey there hotshot, looking for some competition or are you just burning a little fuel for funsies?
no subject
Well, originally I was just out here for fun, but... well, if you want to do something a little more challenging, I'm up for it.
[Oh, yeah... this could be fun. This kind of environment was a good equalizer, too, because it wasn't just about speed, but about skill... dodging obstacles, maneuvering...]

[Keith grinned at the idea.]
No leaving the boundaries of the field, though.

Set! Go!
[And with that little warning, she guns her thrusters and takes off into the field.]

racing
He spots Keith after a race, decides hey, why not? So he flies over, opens up a comm line with him. ]
Feel like goin' again?
no subject
[Keith wasn't about to say no.]
If you think you can keep up.
[Keith sounded pretty upbeat, and definitely ready to do this. Bring it on, Eithan.]
no subject
[ You can pretty much hear the grin in his voice. What's a race without a little bit of good-spirited trash talking~?
especially when he knows he's probably gonna lose anyway. Whatever!]Start here, loop around that large asteroid up ahead, and come back?
[ He even sends over the coordinates of said large asteroid, just in case. ]
no subject
Looks good to me. Pretty simple.
[With a few keystrokes, he sent back a suggested path, following a simple curve around said asteroid and marked the finish close to their current position.]
What do you think? It's almost a pure speed run. Not a lot of obstacles.
no subject
Perfect. Let's do this!
[ He lines up, and waits for Keith to call it. It's only polite~ ]
Ready!

Three...
Two...
ONE!
[Keith slammed the accelerator on the shuttle, zooming off along the path marked on their maps.]

[ Eithan is by no means a great pilot, or necessarily a very fast one, but he can slam his foot down on a pedal just as well as anyone else can~ Looking for a race? Flag him down and challenge him! ( spoilers: you'll probably win - he's just in it for the fun and the adrenaline rush )
► Hide and Seek
[ This is more up his alley... He'll even help instigate! Are you the one hiding from him? He's got his radar turned off, obviously, because them's the rules! But he's still pretty good at keeping an eye out. Or maybe you're the one looking for him? Good luck, Eithan's going to find the narrowest space he can possibly squeeze into without damaging the shuttle! ... In theory, anyway. ]
► Chicken
[ Okay. Eithan's not gonna do this with just anyone - but if you contact him first? He'll rise to the occasion, especially if he already knows you. Drop him a message~ Let's get this adrenaline party started ♥ ]

she's enjoyed the shuttles from the first moment she's set foot in them (though not being able to rig them up to go faster? not as enjoyable!) and this obstacle course seems like a pretty okay way to see what they can do (it seems a little easy, but kidnappees can't be choosers, right?)
don't mind the shuttle zooming past you - to the best of its zooming ability - zig-zagging like it's being piloted by someone who's not all there - but not all gone, either, because it's not hitting anything, so they gotta be doing something right! and oops, looks like transmission is on, and through the speakers come a joyful, enthused - ]
Whooooooo-hahahaha!
[ ooc: let me know if this doesn't work o7 ]
no subject
Her shuttle zooms past him, and he laughs, thoroughly amused just watching her dart about, dodging rocks and picking up as much speed as possible. With a grin, he starts following, and broadcasts right back to her. ]
Havin' fun there, I take it?
(( ooc: it's lovely! \o/ works great~ ))
no subject
Yeah, what's your deal? [ if he wants to play - great, having someone chase only helps the adrenaline get pumping. if he wants to do her harm - great, she's been wondering what an outer space collision would look like! ]
no subject
Killin' time, mostly. It's not often we actually drift through places we can actually have fun like this, so I figured I'd make the best of it.
[ Also his crewmate decided it would be the best idea ever to play chicken, and he was not about to back down from that. ... he's kind of an idiot. Shh. ]
no subject
[ boo! she doesn't do well with boring. she dodges an asteroid at the last second, probably shouldn't follow her too closely.
okay but how does not backing down from playing chicken relate to being an idiot? ]
no subject
[ fjdkal He does miss the asteroid! But only because he's lagging a little bit. Lucky?? ]
Whoa. [ He laughs a bit, clearly entertained. ] Dude, you're way better at this than me.
no subject
[ hope your luck holds up, buddy, or that you're a fast learner! cuz she's gonna do it a bunch more times. ]
Yeah, if you've been here a while you should be better at this. [ thing is? she doesn't say it to be mean, her tone of voice doesn't convey any hostility or mockery. for her, it's a matter of fact. getting good at flying these ships feels like a necessary survival skill. so is learning to fix them - which is annoyingly challenging. ]
Bok bok mothas
so. we have shuttles. there are asteroids. i'm bored. wanna live a little on the edge?
hell yeah bad ideas!
dude I always wanna live a little on the edge - what do you have in mind?
[ Gonna start walking toward the shuttles anyway, because honestly no matter what the answer, he's totally in. ]
YAY!
no subject
I'm liking where this is going...

I'll meet you out there!
[ Doesn't take him long to grab a shuttle, and he waits near the Blue Fish for Riona to arrive. This is gonna be excellent and nothing could possibly go wrong with this plan whatsoever, right~? right. ]
--> voice
Riona was already waiting in a shuttle, though she hadn't taken off yet. It's not until Eithan leaves the ship that she realizes where he was. She quickly fires up the shuttle and meets him outside the ship.]
Ready?
Racing
In fact, the voice reaching over the broadcast sounds a little teasing, just like did with Lance that one time.]
Can you handle another round?
no subject
Hell yeah, man! What's the course?
no subject
Through the asteroid field and back, around the Iskaulit and back through the field again.
