[Cole doesn't usually sleep, so waking up is very unfamiliar. He doesn't usually feel the cold or heat much, so the deep coldness in his bones is alien.
He jerks upright with a gasp, hands scrabbling at the back of his neck and then he vanishes in a puff of black-green smoke and reappears in the corner of the room, pressing himself back into it, staring around with wide eyes.]
Whispering, watchful, wakeful, wondering, where?
[He then spends a while patting things around him like the floor and wall, whispering under his breath.
In all honesty, he'll stay in that room until someone convinces him to leave and go elsewhere. It's not like he has to leave for any reason.]

I was Compassion before I was Cole. Madam de Fer calls me demon. Solas calls me a spirit. Varric calls me 'kid' and ruffles my hair if I'm sitting on the floor near him.

[Stands to reason, he supposes, if he knows Solas and...yep, there's Dorian. He pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs. Maybe everyone goes crazy in the future and forgets that hanging around with demons is the worst idea ever. ]

[He understands the word, but not entirely the context of it in relation to him. But then the elf mentions Varric and Cole perks up, a small smile appearing.]
Yes! I know Varric. He helped me, learn what being a person is. He's very kind to me. I like his stories. And Bianca. Bianca feels safe, sad, sorrow and security.

I heard much the same about Justice, once. It didn't stop it from becoming a monster with it's host.
[He bristles, not for his sake, but Varric's. He knows Bianca is an absolute no-go area for the dwarf. ]

No, no, no, Justice mustn't do that, it's not good for it, it won't survive being in a person, it might for a while, but it'll be changed by the host, it'll stop being Justice, like Wisdom stopped being Wisdom and Compassion became Mercy and Despair and Faith, Faith can do it, but there's so much Pride in some Faith...
[He paces briefly, restlessly, then hides in the corner again.]

[The Tevene is aimed at Dorian, he catches the pillow, as if it were nothing, then focuses back on Cole. ]
Fine. But time isn't linear when you are brought to these places. [Even worse when time travel is involved, but Fenris doesn't want to get into the mess that was Exsilium.]

Cole, I'm certain he will come to love you all the same, don't feel entirely too upset about it. He didn't know me, but we were fast friends. I'm certain it will be the same.

[He has noticed he's no longer armed. He doesn't like it, but he's not attached to his weapons like Varric and Bianca.]
It's not a quick stop. I've been in this world for... at least three years now. Maybe five? I don't know. I wasn't good at time when I was in the White Spire Circle.

[Bianca is, of course, so much more than just the crossbow. It truly angers Fenris that Atroma have taken her from him. ]
So everyone is okay with a demon just spending time in the Inquisition? Did perhaps everyone go insane during the war? It's still a demon. It will turn on you eventually.

Spirit, Fenris. Just think of him as a little otherworldly visitor. Aside from the fact that he has trouble getting his clothes on, he's a remarkable asset.
