[While most people would be content to, you know, sleep once in a while, it seems like Looma's spending this Drift dealing with a remarkable lack of it. She looks the part too- one does not switch over to getting by on nothing but micro naps over the course of several days without exhausting themselves. Tetramands are apparently no different.
She's sitting in her chair aboard the Bishop, fighting back sleep as best she can while poring over any readout of the ship she can get her hands on. Less than half of it makes any sense to her, but it doesn't have to- she knows what everything should look like, she's just on alert for any suspicious changes.]
I have only been a part of this wretched show for less than one human year, so there is much about our shared enemy that I do not understand. I know that this last occasion was not the first time they have thrown us into one another's memories, but what has been happening recently feels... different.
[Yep, she's another one who wound up getting a strange dream. She's not a fan of it. For one thing, they're not supposed to happen while you're awake. To say it's put her on high alert would be an understatement- her only response was to assume an impending move by the Atroma or, even worse, a complete unknown.]
I have noticed several others have been having strange dreams. I was not asleep for mine.
I must know if the Atroma are responsible, or if there is some new presence toying with us. Have they been behind anything like this in the past? If they have not, I have two concerns.
One: They are plotting something, and changing how they plan to toy with us.
Two: We will soon be dealing with some new threat.
[She's...kind of forgotten where she was going with this, by this point. And for a moment it looks like she's going to nod off in the chair again, before her eyes snap wide again and she regains some measure of focus.]
...any insight would be appreciated. Especially from those of us who have been here long enough to know what to expect. I have been unable to find any satisfactory explanation on my own.

[She is clearly not too concerned with the terminology, not that it should be even remotely surprising. She's going to let out a tired sigh here, and prop her head up with one of her fists. It was becoming a bit tedious just trying to stay awake, but until she knew what was going on, she didn't like the idea of taking her eyes off her ship.]
Ordinarily we would be in agreement, Sokka. The Atroma do seem to enjoy toying with us- especially if it should involve gratuitous invasions of privacy. But why target only a select few? Would it not be more to their liking to torment everyone in the fleet?

You know, I've been wondering that, too. Maybe they can't afford all the resources to hit everyone at once. They've not long had Calibrations, and that must have been a drain on their power. Maybe they just don't have the oomf to hit everyone again just yet.

Perhaps. But if that were the case, I would expect them to simply bide their time- to wait until they could afford to hit everyone.

[She's certain that...most of her crew is competent and all, but she's definitely in a league of her own when it comes to putting up a fight.]
It is certainly what I would do. But I fail to see the benefit of it. One does not begin a campaign without a goal in mind, and I cannot imagine what they might be after. They have already proven they can control these ships at their leisure, and that they may neutralize us as they see fit.
[All those ship fusions and the business with the calibration rooms hadn't gone unnoticed by Looma, after all. Or the implications behind them.]

I know, it doesn't make much sense. But why keep us around at all? Maybe they really DO have to entertain someone?

[Again, it's what she'd do. But part of that was because she tended to be impatient with battles, and she'd jump straight to the good fights given the chance.]
I have no reason to doubt that. I have been forced into participating in a similar show once already. I am still trying to decide which of the two is worse.

It was some ridiculous dating show my former betrothed was forced into. We had to compete for his affections- I was completely over him of course, I just didn't like the thought of yielding to a bunch of puny weaklings.
[She didn't win though, but at least no one else did.]
Apparently the host fed off our misfortune. Literally. And threw anyone eliminated into the Null Void, so that he could continue feeding while the show was off the air.
["Eccentric" might have been a little too mild a word choice, here.]
Obviously, his plan did not end well.
