[Welcome new crew and visitors to the SS Blue Fish! There's been some additions to the crew, some grievous losses and some activity as they prepare these finale days to leave the planet of Mor. Don't mind the two cats and large amounts of meat being stored. Since Blue Fish lacks a pilot, the ship can still be found docked in Mor's volcano until they leave the planet for anyone who wants to drop by for a visit!]

[In other words, get in here and mingle!]

[This Shuffle wasn't a good one for Allen. In addition to losing Ludger from the ship, he noticed Zoro and Chopper had been removed from the rosters too on their ships. Three friends in one day. Even if they weren't close, it was still too much]

[Normally, Allen would be prone to throw himself into his work to distract himself. But he had already gotten most of his work done from the blood drive, and it wasn't like there were many injuries to attend. So he's doing the next best thing- beating the utter crap out of the punching bag in the cargo bay. He's at least wearing some sort of gloves, but since he's also in a tank top- it's pretty hard to not notice that one of his arms is blood red...]

[Sokka isn't particularly bothered by the arm. He barely gives it a passing glance as he wanders in to lean on the wall, arms folded, watching Allen murder the poor punching bag. He calls it Punchy. ]

So. You've been doing some Grade A skulking lately. You got a test in it coming up or is there some other reason for it?

[If you're looking for your FEARLESS CAPTAIN, you will find him outside. He has managed to get some paint, mostly blue, because, well duh, and is currently standing on a ladder, attempting to paint a blue fish on the ship.

It looks nothing like a fish.

It doesn't even look like one of those abomination of nature fishes that live at the bottom of the ocean.

It's 50/50 if it even looks like a living thing at all. ]

[After a particular hard punch that makes Punchy go swinging- Allen hears Sokka talking and turns his head]

Huh Sok-

[And of course, since Allen is a dumbass that never to bothered to learn about the pendulum effect- he gets cut off by Punching swinging back and smacking him]

- Ah!

[You will find Beverly, covered in flour and her hair in a messy excuse for a bun, in the kitchen, intently kneading some dough, her tongue poking slightly out of her mouth as she concentrates on her task. Earlier this month, she was mostly able to distract herself by exploring the ship and familiarizing herself with its technology and her crewmates, but a month trapped on this terrible planet in the wrong fleet in the wrong universe has caught up with her. She needs something to remind her of home, and that something is croissants.

And coffee, even if it is oddly fruit flavored. She pauses to take a sip from a mug that's starting to go cold and surveys her progress.

Never mind that she's never actually made croissants before. It can't be that difficult, right?]

[Feeling a desperate need to get off the ship, Beverly is outside walking laps around the Blue Fish when she runs into Sokka painting... a... well it's a ... She tilts her head and studies his handiwork. An amoeba? A squashed blueberry? An abstract interpretation of the universe? She cups her hands around her mouth and shouts up at him.]

Captain? May I ask what it is that you're doing up there?

[Sokka winces as he watches Allen get punched by Punchy. Such poetic irony.]

Or....you can do that. [Gonna wave a hand obnoxiously in front of Allen's face. ]

HAVE-YOU-GOT-CON-CUSS-ION?

[Oh, Allen's kitchen senses are tingling. You know, the ones where he can tell someone is cooking in the kitchen. So he's poking his face in]

Are you baking something, Doctor?

Ugh-

[Luckily, it didn't break anything. Just slammed into his chest and what not. So he stumbles back to recover from that tumble- only to have Sokka waving in his face and yelling]

- No! I'm fine! Why are you yelling?!

I thought you got a head injury.

[Holds up three fingers. ]

How many fingers am I holding up?

[Was Kairi disappointed? Yes, but it had nothing to do with the crew itself. She had hoped she would be put on the same ship as Riku and Sora, or if not, at least on Lea's (or Axel, whatever he was going by) ship. However, she had quickly discovered that wasn't the case. Maybe she shouldn't have gotten her hopes up so much...

It wasn't the crew's fault, though, so she did her best to hide the sinking feeling and instead keep a smile on her face. Being on a ship with total strangers was a little intimidating, but she was determined to give it her best shot.

But first things first, she needed to get a lay of the land, so to speak. So Kairi could be found all over the ship, exploring and trying to get an idea of what was in store. That and getting to know her new crew mates, of course.]

((OOC: feel free to pick any location! There's hardly a place Kairi wouldn't be in her first days))

And the answer to a head injury is to yell?

[SOKKA...]

Three! I'm fine!

[Sokka beams, presenting the horrible abomination now adorning their ship. ]

Look! I painted a blue fish!

I don't know. Probably?

[Ok cool, cool. He stands back. ]

You probably should have ducked.

[Allen is sitting at the table when Kairi comes wandering in, going through some lists. He looks up when he hears someone enter. He doesn't recognize her, which points to the new crewmate that got assigned]

Ah- hello!

Are you Kairi? I- read that you were added to our ship.

[Kairi had noticed the other man when she had walked in, but seeing as he looked like he was reading, hadn't wanted to bother him. However, she wasn't quiet enough not to attract attention, it seemed.

She smiled and nodded at him.]

Yes, I am. I just came to check out the kitchen, I didn't mean to bug you.

Theoretically, yes.

[She sets down her coffee and plops the dough into a large bowl, which she covers with a checkered dish towel.]

I am attempting to make croissants, but I've never baked them from scratch before and I couldn't find a recipe for them in the ship's databases, which are disappointingly lacking in much useful information. It seems to be mostly recordings of the past six months here.

[he shakes his head]

It's fine, don't worry! I was just checking the supply list.

I'm Allen. I'm the first mate and one of the medics. It's nice to meet you.

[He makes an annoyed sound] Yes, thank you. I'll remember that.

Now what were you saying?

So....you're guessing and hoping it works out?

[Sadly, Allen knows nothing about baking. But he might be mildly unsure here]

[Allen. Medic. She's trying to learn the names as best as she can, and their jobs. Luckily Allen is pretty distinct, in terms of appearance. His hair was the same color as Riku's, and that tattoo over his eye...]

Nice to meet you, too! I think I'm a cook? I'm pretty sure, anyway. I'm still trying to get the hang of cooking with the... food they have here.

[Her eyebrows shoot up skeptically. Maybe fish look different in Sokka's world, but that looks like no fish Beverly's ever seen, on Earth or any other planet. But Sokka just looks so proud of himself.]

I see. It certainly adds a bit of color to the ship. What gave you the idea?

Basically.

[She crosses to a sink and runs her flour-covered hands under some hot water. Wiping her hands on a towel, she turns back to Allen.]

Nana taught me how to bake bread and cakes and the like, but I'm afraid croissants are not part of traditional Scottish cuisine.

[Setting the towel on the counter, she takes a seat on one of the kitchen stools and looks wistfully at the slowly-rising dough.]

Jean-Luc and I [there is the slightest blush at the mention of his name] have breakfast together almost every morning. Coffee and croissants. I just... need some sense of normality here.

[yeah the scar usually tends to be a dead giveaway.]

Ha- I'm not sure it really counts as food, but we try to keep the kitchen stocked with real ingredients as much as we can. Do you have much experience cooking?

[Oh hey, it's a new person. Sokka appears from...whatever the heck he was doing (probably robots) and gives her a lazy wave. ]
