Snow Villiers
[It's been a very long time since Snow has left the twisted opulence of the Patron's Palace and the sterility of his own quarters in said palace. He doesn't remember the last time he'd actually enjoyed anything about... anything. And the few cold hours on the Marsiva with its harsh lightning and strange machinery did nothing but remind Snow of the time when his life was far less complicated.
Not that his life has been so simple in a very, very long time. But some part of these ships remind him of a time he'd almost forgotten about, his time aboard both the Palamecia and the Lindblum. He's not exactly sure how to feel about that, as it also only grinds in the fact that he is so much different than when everything began to change for him and his friends. That he can't go back to a time when he was...
Which a sneer, he brushes confetti out of his eyes and hair.]
So this is my new "home". The decorations leave a lot to be desired.
Settling in
[This planet that the ships have docked at has some sort of high resonance with his hidden l'Cie brand, making the pain in his arm flare up from time to time. However, after five-plus centuries, he's certainly learned to ignore it when he isn't using his powers. It's odd how the feel of the ship is so close to that of his own sterile quarters of his previous palace, but he's finding that staying in one room for too long isn't that easy for him to do.
There was a time when he'd try to make friends with everyone the ship. What Lightning...used to say was his overly chummy attitude. Now, he barely talks to anyone unless they talk to him. He's not sure that's actually said more than a handful of words in a day's time otherwise. As it is, he spends most of is time walking from the Armory to the Cargo Hold to the Kitchen.
After a week, he's just like that giant, blond shadow that everyone can sort of get used to.]
Arrival
Once the announcement's over, Riona moseys towards where the newcomers arrive. She stops outside the entrance, brow raised slightly. She's seen taller creatures than Snow, but he's hands down the tallest human she's ever come across.
And, judging by his comment, a grumpy one at that.]
We take no responsibility for the confetti. That's Atroma's little idea. But at least the pudding there is halfway decent. It's better than anything you'd have found on the Marsiva.
no subject
Although, he is used to the surprised look on her face as she takes in his size. He's always been one of the tallest people around. Even Gadot....even he hadn't been as tall.]
Nice to see our kidnappers have a lousy sense of humor. [His voice is low and rumbly, but not without some inflection.] As for the food on the other ship, didn't have any. I was there for maybe a few hours before... [He waves his gloved hand, careful not to hit anyone that might be nearby.]...this.
no subject
[For once, she's going to remember to be polite and introduce herself before she's halfway into a conversation with this stranger.]
I'm Riona. I'm the pilot for the Blue Fish, the ship you're now on.
no subject
[He's used to dealing with unseen forces making life more difficult for him. It's his whole life up this point. Why mess with a lifetime of suck?]
Gel? Paste? Sounds like the place I grew up in.
[Want to buy a fal'Cie please. Ready made commodities would be amazing in space.]
Snow. I'm security, I think. That's what the little comm device said when I turned it on.
no subject
Eugh, you had those where you grew up? I had hoped that was limited to this infernal place.
[Real food's where it's at.]
Nice to meet you, even under the circumstances. Since you're security, you're in charge of our armory and of course the ship's defense. Don't worry, the latter part almost never comes up, so you just get to look at all the shiny guns.

Arrival
Wow, rude. I know the confetti's a little much. but we love our decorations here. So rude, wow.
Arrival
I've seen worse. [And he's not going to say what he thinks is worse.] But being bombarded the second I get here isn't really the way to get me excited about the whole kidnapping into space part of this deal.
no subject
Honestly, I don't think many people are excited about the kidnapping thing. Except maybe the crazy people. Welcome to the Blue Fish, I'm Sokka, the captain here.
no subject
Oddly enough, I could think of a person or two who'd find it interesting.
[Of course, Lumina is a pest and he's called her a demon more than once, but that's not the point.]
Snow Villiers. Guess I'm security around here. [Thank Etro that he's not in charge here too.]
no subject
What? Really? They'd like being kidnapped?
Nice to meetcha! And boy have you come at the right time. This last planet has definitely got the heebies and the jeebies going on. Given what usually happens when Atroma does that to us, having someone who can man the ship's weapons system would be really needed.

aerith gainsborough
She spends quite a lot of time in the kitchen, trying to figure it all out with reference to her augment, which doesn't seem as useful to her as everyone else's might be. She learns, though, and picks things up here and there, and does her best not to make a complete and utter mess. Her mom had taught her some things, in the end, even if travelling around the world had softened some of those memories. She's not quite the homebody she might have been if she hadn't learned her fate, and that's fine too.
More often than not, she can be found in her room with the door open. She spends a great deal of time putting photos up, and there are two in a frame that hang up opposite her bed, the first thing she sees in the morning. One is a picture of her kissing a blond, spiky haired boy on the cheek, the other is her pressed up close against an equally spiked black haired boy.
Sometimes, she's not even on the ship at all, visiting one of her spiky boys. In those cases, she hovers around the shuttles, in and out, bumping into people as she goes. ]

[It's hard to resist the scent of food, especially of the home cooked variety. Combined with a natural nosiness, and there's Riona, peering into the kitchen. Whatcha makin'?]
no subject
Rice! With some... Meat?
[ What even comes in those cans, Riona? ]
no subject
Hmmm, you don't sound so sure. If you got it out of that freezer in the back, I assure you, it's meat of some kind. Sokka won't settle for anything less than the real deal.
no subject
[ She seems particularly cheerful, and steps away from the odd cooking for a moment to beam. ]
I'm Aerith. [ But she might know that from the logs, oops. ]
no subject
[Probably the best captain in the fleet, in her biased opinion.]
Nice to finally meet you. I think we kept missing each other. I'm Riona, the ship's pilot.

And his size means that they keep their distance when he walks, which is both good and bad. Until one of them bumps into him from behind.
Before she can fall, he puts out a hand to steady her and when he's sure that she's steady, he gets a good look at her before talking. He's seen her in the kitchen. The cook, he thinks, but he doesn't know her name of course.]
Should watch where you're going. You might walk into a wall. Not as forgiving.
no subject
There's a hand on her shoulder soon after her bump and she glances up, blinking for a moment. ]
Sorry! I was thinking.
[ Tilting her head, she watches him for a moment before her face breaks into a soft smile. ]
You're new, aren't you? My name's Aerith.
no subject
Standing there with his hand on her shoulder as she looks up reminds him of another woman and he quickly takes his hand back.]
No crime in thinking, but I'm not really used to people bumping into me out of nowhere.
[If anything, they usually run and scream when he's near.]
Name's Snow, Snow Villiers. Just got here a few days ago.
no subject
She's trying to be kind. She's doing her best. ]
I'll be more careful, I promise.
[ And she has no fear of him. ]

I'm cooking! [ Turning, she beams. ] Rice.
no subject
That smells great. It's been so long having to eat the awful stuff Atroma sends us. Normall,y I'd offer up some meat to go with it, but our supplies are pretty much out until I can get onto a planet with good hunting again.
no subject
That's okay. I don't think it'll taste too bad. [ Though she does peer at it a little. ] Do you do all the hunting here?
