the veil is thin . . .
[ On the night of the 16th, the feeling of tension and horrid anticipation comes to a head. Everything stops when the sun goes down-- even the ever-present music in the hoppingest part of the city center. One by one, everyone turns their eyes to the skies. The young and old alike pour out of their houses, some in bare feet, and they point to the velvety blanket of stars.
It takes a second to find it, especially if one is unaccustomed to the starscape. But even a casual observer can see it.
A brightly-shining star, larger than the others, and growing larger.
An announcement cuts across all communication channels that encourages people to evacuate to the space station, but it’s clear that these are just people and they’ll need some help. Supplies, equipment, organization, there’s something for everyone to do.
Civilization is disrupted by a panicked stampede of people vying for limited seats aboard spacefaring craft. Within hours, there will be crushed glass, looting, and chaos.
The clock is ticking. Will you help? Or would you rather watch the dying gasps of a Singing Planet from a safe distance? ]

C - sneaking out
Matt, you're grounded
She doesn't really chase after him- she's not suited for any pursuit that doesn't involve a straight line and barreling through anything in her path- but she's not about to let him go wander off either. His only warning he'd been spotted would be the heavy footsteps headed his way, but he'd be in for a disappointment if he'd been expecting her to just follow him.
Instead some of those crates are sent sliding across the ground as they are quite literally brushed aside, revealing a less than pleased alien princess.]
Matt Murdock.
[She can be just a little overprotective of the people on her crew she doesn't know happen to be fighty, Matt. And right now she's in full Angry Mom mode. Good luck.]

Matthew tilts his head back and sighs before turning around, leaning some weight on his cane as he holds the grip with both hands. To keep himself from getting too mad, probably; it's a good stress ball.] Yes Captain, what can I do for you?

It is far too dangerous for you to wander freely. Return to the ship at once- if you wish to be of assistance, I have no doubt Jack or Sayid will have use of you.
[She's not really lying, either- they may be able to use the ship's teleporter, but there would be the matter of making sure the people and cargo ended up moved to the proper place to make room for more. She just doesn't want to see you getting lost and meteor'd out here, Matt.]
