the veil is thin . . .
[ On the night of the 16th, the feeling of tension and horrid anticipation comes to a head. Everything stops when the sun goes down-- even the ever-present music in the hoppingest part of the city center. One by one, everyone turns their eyes to the skies. The young and old alike pour out of their houses, some in bare feet, and they point to the velvety blanket of stars.
It takes a second to find it, especially if one is unaccustomed to the starscape. But even a casual observer can see it.
A brightly-shining star, larger than the others, and growing larger.
An announcement cuts across all communication channels that encourages people to evacuate to the space station, but it’s clear that these are just people and they’ll need some help. Supplies, equipment, organization, there’s something for everyone to do.
Civilization is disrupted by a panicked stampede of people vying for limited seats aboard spacefaring craft. Within hours, there will be crushed glass, looting, and chaos.
The clock is ticking. Will you help? Or would you rather watch the dying gasps of a Singing Planet from a safe distance? ]

[This is HIS first one though. They weren't there for the attack on Insomnia and he wasn;t evacuating people from Altissia. He was too busy running down MTs and trying to get to Luna... and jumping off balcony ledges to hitch a ride with his best friend. That was so nuts...
So this one was easier. This one wasn't so bad, it was hectic and panicked and full of hysterical people who were fighting or just shutting down out of pure fear and dread. They had people from all parts of the spectrum. He got caught up behind Prompto helping an older man regain his footing when he almost tripped. The mob was hurrying so fast to the ship he almost got trampled when he slowed down but Noct came to him.
"My.... my whole life was on this planet... my wife.... she's buried here..." he wasn't really present in the moment so Noctis took his arm and led him until the man's granddaughter appeared to escort him herself. Then Prompto appeared.]
Yeah... it's... [he looked over the crowd with a distant look.] They're leaving their whole lives behind... they don't even get a chance to say goodbye.

I know it's hard. There won't be anything to come back to, but... at least they'll be alive. They'll get a chance to start over.
no subject
We have to get more of them on the ship... then maybe a break. We're useless if we wear ourselves out here.

He nods, a little hesitant. A break is probably a good idea, though it feels kind of ... selfish.] Yeah ... Yeah. Okay.
