[Kitty is still in her bedroom where she's been for the past two months when the video opens.]

If the timestamps I'm seeing are right then I'm surprised I don't have a long beard by now. That's a Rip Van Winkle joke for any of the non-earthlings who think maybe I can grow a beard.

So, I'm Kitty Pryde for anyone who just showed up. Just so you know I still have seniority over you. I could take your lunch money any time I want. And hi. Any new mutants? Maybe some Avengers who should be mutants, but they aren't because timelines are funny that way? [Wanda and Pietro were strange, okay?]

I haven't flipped through much of the network yet. Feel free to do a roll call. Let me know you're here—new, old, returned, twice baked, whatever. Did I miss anything fun? Maybe some birthdays? Oh, right, like mine. [She picks up some pretty and unusual stones and nudges an illustrated physics book. She speaks softer.] Maybe someone remembered.

[Scrolling through some old network posts and her eyes widen slightly.] Maybe I missed something not so fun...

[Her body feels lethargic and uninterested in all this moving she wants to do. But she's been out of commission and she feels the need to catch up. So she'll be looking for crewmates and visitors.]

[Natasha is leaning toward that one, but considering how miraculously the world seems to be restoring itself, she can't entirely quell suspicions that they were behind it to start with.]

[It does take a moment to register the last comment as she thinks of the calendar year before Rosh Hashanah.] I guess I missed that too, didn't I? Hell of a way for it to come in. [Apples and honey are much better than meteors into planets.]

For Rosh Hashanah or for my ship or my life? [She's still digesting the things she's learned since waking and she doubts that's all of it.]

Any of the above? [Natasha cracks a little smile.] Or maybe just breakfast.

Mmm...breakfast. Actually even that, no. I'm really just wanting to catch up and see how it goes. Plans are for people with predictable, non-kidnapped lives. [As if she's never made plans here or in Marina.]

Fair enough. I'd say that was more of a suggestion than a question, though. Maybe an invitation?

Are you offering to make me breakfast? Only say yes if you're serious, because I've married a Russian before and I can do it again.

Don't get carried away here. I was thinking of buying you breakfast. There's a difference.

At this point I only make people put out for dessert.

That is extremely fair. It also makes me think about breakfast dessert. We should do this food thing.

Figured you might be a little hungry after sleeping so long. Let's get you something—think we could find somewhere with crepes?

I'm not sure what supplies people have. [She always gathers things up wherever they stop and obviously she hasn't in two months. She imagines once the meteor threat began there wasn't a lot of shopping going on.] But Jarvis is food magic.

Exactly who I had in mind. I bet if we shook him down a little, he could whip up something.

[Where by shake him down, she means, show up. Possibly smile.]

Yes, he's always so hesitant to make food for people. Shame. [That was her plan too.]

Would he be on the Tourist still or over at his cafe?

I was thinking the cafe. Usually I have good luck with that.

It sounds good. I might order two breakfasts. Meet you there or are you coming to pick me up. If you do, make sure to bring a corsage.

I'll meet you there. Don't want to have to borrow dad's car.

Good idea. We'd have to go in for pictures together. Such a hassle. See you in a few? If you get their first just order me one of everything.

[It takes her a little longer than usual to get to the cafe, but the wait shouldn't be too bad. Kitty is just moving a little slower after her extended rest. She slides into a booth.]

I can't remember. Have you taken one of these nap comas?

Hey. [Natasha waits for her. There may not be one of everything waiting, but there are a couple of donuts. It'll have to do.]

I haven't. Just lucky that way, I guess.

[Donuts are a good opening gesture.] You always are until you aren't!

I'm basically optimism in the form of a person. [Smiling between donut bites.] But really it's worse on the people left behind. I was just asleep. [No torturous nightmares or longing to get back. Just darkness, her old friend.]

Until you wake up and get to catch up on all of the things you've missed. [That part they're at right now.] I have the feeling I wouldn't be a fan of that part.
