If the timestamps I'm seeing are right then I'm surprised I don't have a long beard by now. That's a Rip Van Winkle joke for any of the non-earthlings who think maybe I can grow a beard.

So, I'm Kitty Pryde for anyone who just showed up. Just so you know I still have seniority over you. I could take your lunch money any time I want. And hi. Any new mutants? Maybe some Avengers who should be mutants, but they aren't because timelines are funny that way? [Wanda and Pietro were strange, okay?]

I haven't flipped through much of the network yet. Feel free to do a roll call. Let me know you're here—new, old, returned, twice baked, whatever. Did I miss anything fun? Maybe some birthdays? Oh, right, like mine. [She picks up some pretty and unusual stones and nudges an illustrated physics book. She speaks softer.] Maybe someone remembered.

[Scrolling through some old network posts and her eyes widen slightly.] Maybe I missed something not so fun...

[Her body feels lethargic and uninterested in all this moving she wants to do. But she's been out of commission and she feels the need to catch up. So she'll be looking for crewmates and visitors.]

[She laughs lightly.] Okay, okay. I was just kidding. You have to admit finding out how compatible your magic was did sound at least vaguely intimate. [She doesn't even really know she's on to something. He would have blushed either way!]

It's good to see you again. [She didn't technically remember that time to miss anyone, but also she does feel mentally refreshed in a way. Some of the weight connected to the loss of Winn feels easier to carry if not actually lessened. That said, she didn't exactly return to cheerier times. She thought things were down after calibrations. They were practically Mardi Gras compared to this.]

Also, I need your help.

[You're so mean, Kitty. Why does he like you again?] Well...

[Actually, he never even thought about that. So his cheeks keep that nice tomato-like color.] I didn't even think of that.

[It still means plenty to him. And he's glad to see her awake and interacting with everyone again. He had, and he won't quite admit it, been a bit worried about her.]

Weeeeell, bad news, you're back to just one captain. Good news, it's me. Vash came to see me and promptly passed out. I could drag him back to his room, but he might prefer teleportation, not that he's awake to say.

[Ah. Well, he can definitely understand why she's asking him. So Khadgar gives a nod. It's been long enough since he and Merlan had almost lost his last teleport, plenty of time to rest up and restore his mana.]

Sure, I'll be right by. [He's bringing a marker.]

You're the best. Don't tell the others I told you so. I don't want them taking their insatiable envy out on you.

Oh no, can't have that. [He laughs, cutting off the line and heading to the room, marker and chalk in hand.]

I just need to do one thing first. [As he comes in the room. All smiles.]

Hey! I can't let you do that in front of me. [These are the key words.] Put it away. Even if he deserves it.

[Kitty! Don't ruin all his fun!]

It was only going to be a bad mustache! Maybe a monocle.

I woke up clean. [Of course she checked a mirror.] He should too. [Or at least not in front of her.]

Probably because he was afraid of your retaliation.

[Siiiigh. But fine... Not while she's around. He tucks the marker into his pocket and grabs his chalk, scribbling a circle of runes onto the floor quickly.]

I am scarier than he is. [These facts are true.] Oh, sure, so you write on my floor instead. [No, she gets it's for the spell and that it's just chalk.]

I do have a vandalism quota to meet. [He grins and then straightens up once the runes are finished.] Alright, ready when you are.

Understandable. [She smiles back.]

I think so. Unless my floor is about to vanish. I'm substantially less prepared for that.

Well, it's about to disappear from under us but it won't entirely disappear.

[Once Kitty and Vash are both in the circle, and he moves to help support Vash, he conjures his magic and teleports them into Vash's room.]

Oh, that kind of "disappear from under us." [She glances down.] I still have my feet. I'd call that a success.

[Kitty! He's offended! No, ignore that grin, he's absolutely offended.] Shove him under the covers or on top?

Nah. I knew you'd get us here in three separate pieces. Mm, under the covers seems more respectful somehow. But should we take his boots off?

It does. [He agrees, reaching to pulled the blankets back when they're close.] Hm... Boots off, I don't think anyone really likes having shoes in their bed.

How many people like being undressed without their consent though? [She reaches down, touching his leg and a moment later the boots just fall off his feet. Phasing has so many possibilities.]

[Khadgar lets out a faint snort.] Not many, I'm sure, but it's just his shoes. Unless his feet are gross, it should be okay.

[That's so convenient. And has to be great for pranks.]

[He thinks pranks. She thinks sexy times. This is the difference.]

True enough. [She brings the blanket up to cover him for an act of comfort if not actual warmth.] I guess the Atroma wanted to see us with only one captain at a time.

[It's a big difference.]

They can't keep that up. It wouldn't be very entertaining, after all.

[He's not wrong.]

Not for us. Maybe for them? But I won't get ready for my next nap just yet. I'm surprised they take any of us out of action that long.
