[Kitty is still in her bedroom where she's been for the past two months when the video opens.]

If the timestamps I'm seeing are right then I'm surprised I don't have a long beard by now. That's a Rip Van Winkle joke for any of the non-earthlings who think maybe I can grow a beard.

So, I'm Kitty Pryde for anyone who just showed up. Just so you know I still have seniority over you. I could take your lunch money any time I want. And hi. Any new mutants? Maybe some Avengers who should be mutants, but they aren't because timelines are funny that way? [Wanda and Pietro were strange, okay?]

I haven't flipped through much of the network yet. Feel free to do a roll call. Let me know you're here—new, old, returned, twice baked, whatever. Did I miss anything fun? Maybe some birthdays? Oh, right, like mine. [She picks up some pretty and unusual stones and nudges an illustrated physics book. She speaks softer.] Maybe someone remembered.

[Scrolling through some old network posts and her eyes widen slightly.] Maybe I missed something not so fun...

[Her body feels lethargic and uninterested in all this moving she wants to do. But she's been out of commission and she feels the need to catch up. So she'll be looking for crewmates and visitors.]

[Smiling.] I like your cousin already. I never say no to muffins with or without indeterminate fruit.

[She shakes her head.] Well, I have another one for the list because as I was getting up Vash passed out. Only one captain at a time on this ship I guess.

Fingon likes to cook - also, he is generally quite likeable, in general. [ Maglor agrees fondly ]

Vash? Ai, but there certainly seems a lot of sleepers, these days. I suppose this is where I ask which captain your crew prefers?

I don't think I've had the pleasure, but someone who cooks goes right on the list.

[She raises an eyebrow.] You don't think I'd be horribly biased answering that?

He's grown so shy, here. [ Maglor shakes his head and then confides ] I think it is because he is so glad to not have to be the responsible one, any longer. He was our High King, in our world. He hated the job, but he was very good at it. I suppose now he can be private and mind his own business for a change, he is determined to do that with great diligence.

I will try and encourage him to get out more, though. Especially since I really can't eat everything he's trying to feed me!

[ He grins ] I expect you will be terribly biased.

A high king? Suddenly just being a regular king seems a little sad and basic. [She smiles. So much royalty in these places!] But extra food is never a problem with me around.

Okay, then it's definitely me. I get all the cheers and occasional parades in my honor.

Even so! We had a lot of lords and minor kings, in those days - lots of small kingdoms that needed a firm hand to keep them pointed in the same direction.

[ He grins ] Cheers and parades and muffins, maybe?

[She'll just assume and hope it was a good direction. She's less sure how she feels about "firm hand" but then so much of her life was spent in a lawless ruined place. Maybe a little order isn't a bad thing even if she's more used to operating outside of it.]

Now we're talking. In fact, I'd turn the cheers and parades in for more muffins or ice cream or pizza or anything that isn't space food really.

[ Considering how quickly things went to hell after Fingon died, Mags is always inclined to think it was! ]

On that point I think very few people in the Fleet will disagree! I cannot provide parades, although if you want a military march commemorating your captaincy I could certainly try... but muffins, that I can share as I have rather an overabundance at the moment!

Let's start with the muffins and then see where the day takes us. [She would be so embarrassed if someone organized a march in her honor for anything. But she's amused by the thought. She assumes he's kidding.]

So, how are you doing? Abundance of muffins aside.

Apart from being overfed? Well - if nothing else, that enforced sleep has certainly ensured I am better rested than I have been in years, I'm sure! A bit stiff, but certainly not so badly as others - a few weeks sleep is a little unusual, but not as bad as a month or more! Also, going a little stir crazy, in truth - I want to go and check on the Memorial Tree, but my brother is hovering and won't let me out yet. You?

I haven't really been up long enough to have much in the way of new. [Except what she keeps getting told. Some of it she hasn't really processed yet.] Some crew changes [deaths] on my ship to figure out I guess.

Leave it to someone to be overprotective about someone just having a really long nap.

Memorial tree though? [Nope, that's new. ~~Unless it's more than 2 months old and shouldn't be new! I don't remember it!~~]

The biggest news you must already know. [ Maglor nods and winces, grateful that they are by now too far for him to hear a planet's grief ]

Nelyo always was a worry wart. I suppose it's what happens when you're the eldest!

Aye - when ... Doctor Crusher was here, you remember the planet with glowing plants? We took a sapling to grow in a dark room just off the garden. She thought it would make a nice place for people to remember their lost - so many cultures use light for such things. It's still only a sapling! But it is growing strong, now - and I think visitors would be welcome.

Oh! Yes, I know the one. I didn't realize it was called the Memorial tree. I thought it might be something...recent. Because I did hear the news.

(OOC: This is at least the second if not third time he's explained this to me her. /sob)

Well, I might only have decided on what to call it recently. [ He grins abashedly ] And it's been too small to allow visitors, until now! Although I will have to mark where it's roots are growing so no one treads on it. But... [ He sobers ]

I thought it fitting, what with the recent... happenings.

Yeah, there's a lot to memorialize it sounds like. [Including some people close to her. Still not sure how to process all that just now.]

That is my hope too - I should make an annoucement about it, I think.

[They discussed this several times and yet she's still a little surprised that he's coming over—pleasantly so.]

[She makes her way down to the cargo bay. Her body it still stiff from the overabundance of sleep and she doesn't like that. Her body is her weapon (except when she's using additional weapons like her claws, details). Not that she needs a weapon of any kind for muffins or tea.

She'll be checking on their hanging gardens in the cargo bay when he arrives, making sure someone managed to water things while she was asleep. Seems so!]

You have a lovely garden!

[She smiles over at him.] I can't really take credit. Vision started it. I think. It was around before me and got bigger when our ships merged since the Three Twins had one too.

We have some bacon-flavored kelp if you're interested.

Bacon...flavoured kelp. [ He says bemusedly ]

That is an...interesting combination. Whoever thought of that one?

It is still a lovely garden either way - I did not think of hanging baskets! But mpst of my time is taken up with the memorial tree, these days. Daeron might enjoy it though! I will have to tell him.

It was something Vision had. I think he found it on one of the places they visited before I joined up. It's not bad, but you can't really go into it wanting bacon or kelp. You have to embrace the strange in between. [She smiles at the absurdity of giving bacon-flavored kelp eating advice to an ancient being.]

He's welcome if he wants to come over and check out the system. I wasn't here when they were installed, but it shouldn't be hard to recreate.

I don't think I ever tried kelp, so either way it will be an experience! At least all the muffins Fingon baked are definitely fruit varieties - of some sort, any way.
