Video/Action : Open
Who: Kitty and EVERYONE!
Broadcast: So broadcast!
Action: Very action! (Twin Roses)
When: Oct. 1 (and also later)
[Kitty is still in her bedroom where she's been for the past two months when the video opens.]
If the timestamps I'm seeing are right then I'm surprised I don't have a long beard by now. That's a Rip Van Winkle joke for any of the non-earthlings who think maybe I can grow a beard.
So, I'm Kitty Pryde for anyone who just showed up. Just so you know I still have seniority over you. I could take your lunch money any time I want. And hi. Any new mutants? Maybe some Avengers who should be mutants, but they aren't because timelines are funny that way? [Wanda and Pietro were strange, okay?]
I haven't flipped through much of the network yet. Feel free to do a roll call. Let me know you're here—new, old, returned, twice baked, whatever. Did I miss anything fun? Maybe some birthdays? Oh, right, like mine. [She picks up some pretty and unusual stones and nudges an illustrated physics book. She speaks softer.] Maybe someone remembered.
[Scrolling through some old network posts and her eyes widen slightly.] Maybe I missed something not so fun...
[ACTION : TWIN ROSES]
[Her body feels lethargic and uninterested in all this moving she wants to do. But she's been out of commission and she feels the need to catch up. So she'll be looking for crewmates and visitors.]

I just hope he's healthy and happy wherever he is. [She's never been great at simply believing people go home. She didn't when she left the last place.] And if I get to be extra selfish I hope I get to be with him again too.
[She spent months just going through the motions. She allowed herself to be obviously sad for awhile, but then she had to go on if only not to disappoint Winn. But she is feeling less of oppressive loneliness and longing now. He was still her first thought upon waking, but she's carrying it along with her better than she was. Time will tell if she stays on the upswing.]
Video
But where Anders had the chance to say goodbye and know of Karl's end, all Kitty had were hopes and dreams that seemed cruel to even hold. He did not envy her lack of closure.]
I think you deserve some selfishness and then some. If you ever need to talk or, really, anything at all, you can always call me.
Video
Thanks. I appreciate that. I think I spent the first many months doing nothing but missing him and talking about it and crying about it which is a weird response that might actually border on healthy. I'm much more used to punching things. Anyway, I think I've turned a corner. I still miss him and want him back, but I'm remembering how to be without him too. Which was kind of a lot of talking to say I probably don't need to talk about it anymore. [Smiling.]
Video
I'm glad things are better. I imagine it will always hurt if he's not with you, but time does heal things, even if it doesn't seem it can.
Still, I consider you my friend, so the offer is still there, for the 'anything' part, if nothing else.
Video
So, what have I missed out on with you?
Video
[Her question brought a slight shadow to his expression, though it didn't reach his voice.]
Not a whole lot, if I'm to be honest. Used up every ounce of magic I have healing people during and after the evacuation and spent several days just sleeping. Before that, a friend of mine came to the fleet that I wasn't expecting. I've been helping him settle in.
[He'd told her once, he thought, that he'd been possessed by a spirit and then separated from him while on the fleet, he couldn't honestly be certain he hadn't simply told her he'd lost 'a friend.' Either way, he wasn't sure if it would be a particularly good thing to let her know the friend now on the fleet was that spirit.]
Re: Video
[Good time to decide because she's going to ask about him!] Oh yeah? Who's the friend?
Video
[If he could avoid it, he would.
As for the friend...well, now it was time to decide how much he trusted her.]
His name is.. Justice. He's a spirit, but right now he looks human enough. Well...sort of. If you see a man who's practically a corpse walking around, that's Justice.
Video
That's quite a name and description. What's being a spirit like back home? [She's guessing not like someone wearing a sheet with eye holes and saying, "boo" a lot.]
Video
[He and Merrill had exchanged Words on this before, but he didn't think there was much harm in stealing a bit of her definition if it made the whole thing a little easier to understand.]
He comes from a realm that's attached to our own, the place people's consciousnesses go during dreams. He got pulled into the mortal world by accident and ended up possessing a corpse. He's not still wearing that corpse, apparently, but he's never had a solid appearance of his own, it's the only one he knows to take.
Buuut if you talk to him and he says something weird or blunt, don't take it too personally, he literally embodies the sentiment of Justice, most other concepts escape him.
Video
Embodies justice though. How does that work out? Does he try to enact justice on people? [Is he going to be killing folk?]
Video
[Even while Justice had possessed Anders' body, humor had not been in Justice's realm of understanding. At her question Anders hesitates a moment before answering. Way to hit the mark there, Kitty.]
Well...yes. Mostly. He has a hard time ignoring injustices, to the point where I'd say it's nearly impossible. He has to fulfill his purpose, otherwise he could be corrupted and suffer for it. It's...complicated.
Video
[Leave it to someone from her world to go right for the worst case scenario. For what it's worth she was hoping she was wrong. She looks a bit more somber at his answer.]
And how does he seek this justice? Too much to hope he goes around assigning people community service?
Video
[He smiles a bit, but then it's darkened and vanishes with the memory of nearly killing that innocent girl back in Kirkwall. But, no, that had been Vengeance guiding his hands, making those threats, not Justice. Justice was more noble than that. At least, for now, he was.]
I wouldn't put it past him. But it depends on how damaging he deems the offense. An interpersonal injustice can simply be addressed and fixed. A societal injustice isn't so simple.
I won't ask you to keep an eye on him should your paths cross, you've got plenty more to deal with than spirits running rampant. I just thought I'd let you know about him...since you're a friend.
Also, I tell you in full confidence he's very easy to tease since most of it goes right over his head.
Video
I'm always up for teasing, but...
Is he going to be sensing everyone's past deeds? I mean, what metric is he even using to determine societal injustice? I've had some bad luck with that. My last one of these [Gesturing about vaguely.] was a prison with an actual prison theme versus a prison with a reality show, space theme. I think it's safe to say most of the Twin Roses could be in trouble if you look back far enough and have a strict enough system. [They're good people. At least she thinks so, but how much killing did she and Kurt have to do? What kinds of things did Makie do to survive? And she saw plenty in Vash's past during calibrations.] And I doubt we're the only ones.
Video
I understand what you mean. His basis is the purist form of Justice, he is the embodiment of the concept. For example, say I killed a slew of men for something they did against another. That would be justice to him. However, it would also be justice if I were then slain for the peace of mind of the families those men left behind. Justice isn't a kind virtue, it's hard and his judgement can fall on the guilty as well as the innocent.
That said, he's better now than he was in the Fade -where he came from. He's got humanity to him now, he doesn't delve into other's pasts unless he perceives a justification for it, like helping that person or another or solving a mystery involving an injustice. I don't think you'll run into any trouble with him.
If you do, you can call me or Riona no matter what else is happening.
Video
That's fair. [And she appreciates Anders for walking her through it.] Thanks. I don't actually know Riona, but I'll talk to you if something comes up. Hopefully it won't.
It must be hard for him. [There are a lot of people here who are "different" but being a spirit of justice goes further than being able to walk through walls.]
