If the timestamps I'm seeing are right then I'm surprised I don't have a long beard by now. That's a Rip Van Winkle joke for any of the non-earthlings who think maybe I can grow a beard.

So, I'm Kitty Pryde for anyone who just showed up. Just so you know I still have seniority over you. I could take your lunch money any time I want. And hi. Any new mutants? Maybe some Avengers who should be mutants, but they aren't because timelines are funny that way? [Wanda and Pietro were strange, okay?]

Oh, right, like mine. [She picks up some pretty and unusual stones and nudges an illustrated physics book. She speaks softer.] Maybe someone remembered.

It's okay. For a dead girl I feel pretty alive at the moment. That's something. Even if it's as a prisoner who gets jerked around by mysterious overlords there's still hope.

If there's anything life's taught me, it's you never know what you come flying back from death.

... But then, maybe I'm not a good example of how things usually work.

[She laughs softly at that. Totally something to laugh about, right?] What number are you up to?

Well. I've had a crossroad deal made for me -- don't ever do that, by the way. I've also been brought back before by Death; like, uh, the Four Horseman kind. One time Cas had brought me back, but he accidentally -- left my soul behind, so I was wandering around soulless for a while...

Ugh. Apocalypse named his top underlings after that horsemen. I did not enjoy them.

[She tilts her head, curious about the crossroad deal, but also more curious about this last part.] I knew a guy back in Marina without a soul. He was also a vampire though and he did not like it when we shoved his soul back in him. How did it work out for you?

That's almost as fun as some asshole named Apocalypse.

... He didn't have a soul, huh? In my world, it doesn't bode well. Your soul's what makes you... you, but also -- it's the source of your conscience, too. When it's gone, so are a lot of your emotions and inhibitions.

Oh, he's the funnest.

[She nods.] Yeah, that was kind of a problem. He was feeding on people who didn't want to be fed on despite the whole endless resources of things like blood he could have had.

I'm guessing it didn't go so great for you either. Do you remember it? [This question is the next door neighbor question of "do you feel guilty over it?"]

... Yeah. Um. Yeah, I do.

It was mostly shitty. But only mostly.

[Ha... ha, ha...

He looks a little guilty about it, like he'd, y'know. Been a complete shithead.]

I'm sure none of us would come out great in a situation like that.

...It's weird though. The soul thing. [It was one thing when it was a vampire from another world, but Sam is so...normal.

Yeah, she just thought that. Sam Winchester = normal.]

It's pretty weird, yeah. I'd be worried if someone didn't think it was weird.

... I'm just happy I got my soul back.

Well, I didn't realize it was ever gone until now, but I'm happy you got it back too. The last thing I need is to organize another resouling. [Kidding. She's not worried about it being about her.]
