Who: Kirk + Anyone!
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Yes, on the Tourist and Iskaulit
When: Now!
[ Video ]
[ The video opens to Kirk's bedroom, his hair damp from what one would hope is a shower. A small curl has escaped against his forehead. He doesn't look particularly grim, but he doesn't seem overjoyed to be awake either. ]
Good morning, everyone. Looks like I'm finally awake. For those who don't know me or possibly forgot I was here given how long I was alseep, I'm James Tiberius Kirk, captain of the Tourist - but just call me Jim.
According to my first mate, I've been asleep for a month. And I've missed quite a bit, as it turns out.
[ He took a breath, his voice sounding a touch guilty, even though going into a coma wasn't his choice. ]
I would appreciate a check in with everyone, especially my crew - new and old members. And if anyone wants to talk, I'm here.
[ Action - Tourist ]
[ Awake and showered, now he needed coffee. Coffee and a real meal. There had been... distractions, before now. He made his way to the kitchen to see if he could coax the coffee maker into being kind and cooperating for once, and that done he took up a spot where he could look out at the stars gliding by - and hopefully catch anyone else coming and going.
Once he had finished the coffee, he would start a walk around the ship, looking to catch anyone he hadn't already and get a feel back for her. ]
[ Action - Iskaulit ]
[ More than anything else he craved exercise. Whatever Atroma did while they were in their comas had kept off any major atrophy, but his body still felt tight and unused. It was certainly uncomfortable, to say the least, and after being told of what had happened he didn't want to be caught in anything less than prime condition.
So the Iskaulit went to avail himself of the facilities, running long laps and then switching to weights and back again. If he saw anyone he would talk, of course. He might even slide into the bar at some point. Most professionals would say that going for a drink after waking up from a coma wasn't the best idea, but considering what he had been told? He thought it a necessary medicine. ]

[He flashed a cheeky grin.]
Assigned. Wolfe and I were looking for a ship to transfer to, we were assigned to different ones again and the one I was on already had a medical officer; I'd rather be where I'm needed, otherwise we would have simply gone back to the Twin Roses.
[But they had Kurt and as much as he missed them, it wasn't like he couldn't see them whenever he wanted to. At least, here, he could be of use.]

Seems my ship filled right up to the gills while I wasn't looking. Not that you aren't welcome here, of course. I always feel better having a medic on board.
[ The reasoning reminded him of Bones, even though it had annoyed him since it meant Bones had been on another ship besides his own. ]
Or are you suggesting my ship is accident prone?

[He leans against one of the counters, arms crossing loosely as he grinned.]
Of course not, Captain. Just, perhaps, the man leading her.

[ He arched a brow, for a moment looking perturbed, but he couldn't keep it up for long. He broke out into a grin of his own. ]
I wish I could deny that, but my record says otherwise. Hopefully I won't overtax you though. I would hate for you to turn sour like Bones.
[ He's only kidding. He loves Bones and all his sourness. ]

I assure you, others would deem me sour enough without any other influence, but I'm sure you're more likely to keep me busy than overtax me. I like it better that way.

[ He shook his head. No one had met a sour healer until they had met Bones, to which Kirk measured all healers by, both magical and mundane or otherwise. ]
I'll try not to create to much work for you. I can't promise about the others, but I can usually say you'll see me often enough.
Ah - which means, seeing as you are my doctor, I should warn you that have allergies. I tend not to respond well to quite a few synthetic chemical medicines.

[Anders imagined there had to be someone Kirk was thinking of in comparison and Anders half hoped he could meet this doctor just to understand exactly how 'sour' they were talking about. It had to be impressive.]
I wouldn't worry too much about work, I treated an entire city's slums for six years largely on my own, on top of treating all the injuries sustained by Hawke's 'adventures,' I'll manage.
As for those allergies, I tend not to use very much of the synthetic medicine the fleet offers; there's very little my magic can't cure and I have yet to see anyone have an allergic reaction. [Except maybe Fenris, but that had far less to do with the elf's physiology and more to do with the lyrium brands not playing well with mana of any kind.]
I'm one of perhaps seven known Spirit Healers in Thedas, it's a very powerful branch of healing magic and it's very effective, I promise you and your crew will be in good hands. [If there was one thing he would never play down, it was his magic and what he could do. He knew his own worth when it came to healing, Wynne had imparted at least that much. Very few did what they could and everyone needed their unbiased help. One of her first lessons.]

[ It truly was. ]
Well, seems fair to warn you all the same, just in case. I also have a few food allergies, but I'm good at avoiding them by now, so I doubt that'll come up.
[ But one never knew. He personally felt odd being healed with magic of all things, but at least it wasn't a hypo, so it couldn't be all that bad. Though he did have to wonder if Anders could sense things when he healed, like that it wasn't just himself in there... ]
I never doubted you, Anders. I mean, Hawke is in love with you, so that's already a seal of approval on my terms.
[ He flashed a cheeky smile at the healer. ]

I didn't think you did, but you can't use a man's abilities adequately if you don't know all he can do.
[That was very important for magic: know what you can and can't do and stand behind it and it won't fail you. And, besides, he found those who weren't overly confident with magic felt better knowing their healer was.]
And since you know Hawke, you should know that charm will only get you so far.

With a healer? Oh, I know, but it won't stop me from trying. I'm every doctor's favorite patient you know ~
[ No. He's not. Bones hates him as a patient, for a number of reasons, not the least of which being Kirk hated going for checkups or anything medical to begin with. So enjoy that, Anders. He's going to make you work for it. ]

I look forward to serving on your ship, Jim. [And he looks forward to the challenge. It's been a few years since he had to deal with the accumulated difficulty of the Kirkwall crew in one man. It was sure to be fun.]
