Who: Kirk + Anyone!
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Yes, on the Tourist and Iskaulit
When: Now!
[ Video ]
[ The video opens to Kirk's bedroom, his hair damp from what one would hope is a shower. A small curl has escaped against his forehead. He doesn't look particularly grim, but he doesn't seem overjoyed to be awake either. ]
Good morning, everyone. Looks like I'm finally awake. For those who don't know me or possibly forgot I was here given how long I was alseep, I'm James Tiberius Kirk, captain of the Tourist - but just call me Jim.
According to my first mate, I've been asleep for a month. And I've missed quite a bit, as it turns out.
[ He took a breath, his voice sounding a touch guilty, even though going into a coma wasn't his choice. ]
I would appreciate a check in with everyone, especially my crew - new and old members. And if anyone wants to talk, I'm here.
[ Action - Tourist ]
[ Awake and showered, now he needed coffee. Coffee and a real meal. There had been... distractions, before now. He made his way to the kitchen to see if he could coax the coffee maker into being kind and cooperating for once, and that done he took up a spot where he could look out at the stars gliding by - and hopefully catch anyone else coming and going.
Once he had finished the coffee, he would start a walk around the ship, looking to catch anyone he hadn't already and get a feel back for her. ]
[ Action - Iskaulit ]
[ More than anything else he craved exercise. Whatever Atroma did while they were in their comas had kept off any major atrophy, but his body still felt tight and unused. It was certainly uncomfortable, to say the least, and after being told of what had happened he didn't want to be caught in anything less than prime condition.
So the Iskaulit went to avail himself of the facilities, running long laps and then switching to weights and back again. If he saw anyone he would talk, of course. He might even slide into the bar at some point. Most professionals would say that going for a drink after waking up from a coma wasn't the best idea, but considering what he had been told? He thought it a necessary medicine. ]

[ He laughed gently. ]
I have no doubt she is. But then, I suppose I can only understand from the little brother's perspective, a little.

Hmm, yeah. I do.
[ But if she wanted more about him, he didn't have a lot more to tell. He hadn't seen his brother in literal decades, and honestly didn't care if he did or not. Once upon a time, he might have, but now his brother was more of an abstract thought, like his father. Something he had, but didn't really know. ]
My dad died when I was born, and my mom was pretty absent most of my life along with her new husband. I grew up around my uncle.

I haven't seen my brother since I was twelve - about twenty years ago. He ran away from my uncle, and that was that.
[ It's a flat statement. There's no particular anger there, but he doesn't sound overly heart broken or devastated either. At the time, he was, but the wound was long scarred over, and he had found new family to fill the hole. ]

Have you thought about what you will do if your brother shows up here?
no subject
I left when I was eighteen, never looked back.
[ Aka - he didn't much care for his uncle. There wasn't necessarily anger, again, but there was a touch of bitterness. His uncle had never been cruel or outright neglectful, but he was well aware his uncle had not actually wanted him there. The man made it obvious. They had settled into a sort of acceptance of each other's presence over time, though Kirk's acting out had made it difficult to say the least. ]
No, not really. Maybe punch him. It all depends on what he says when he shows up, I guess. In all honesty, you could set someone in front of me and tell me he's my brother, and I would have more reason to believe you than not.
[ A shrug. ]
None of that really matters. I found my family, it just took me a little longer than some is all. You've met one of them probably if you've been here for a bit - Chekov.

(She gives out good punches. With feeling.)
I have too. (They're just not...here.) I haven't met him yet.
no subject
What? Really?
[ He blinked, obviously shocked. ]
Don't tell me he's been hiding in his room this whole time...
[ He frowned slightly, but it was more of a concerned one than actually upset over his actions. ]
Well, I'll be sure to introduce you soon. I want to have an all hands meeting once I get caught up anyways. But the basics is that he's from my ship in my home world - U.S.S. Enterprise. He's my navigator, our kid genius.
[ He beamed with pride. ]
He got assigned to her when he was only 16!

Is he a kid? (He's alright if he's around Serah's age or Hope's, but if he's younger, she might be a little unsure.)
Not bad. I was still in highschool at that age.
no subject
No, he's older now. Early twenties. Our first assignment together was five years ago.
Haha, so was I! I didn't even get into the Academy until I was... oh, twenty-four or so and done with college.
[ Look, he's a proud captain-brother who likes bragging about how awesome his people are. ]
He's a good guy. You'll like him.

I joined the Guardian Corps right out of highschool. College wasn't really an option with me supporting Serah and myself.
(She doesn't mind.)
His skills will be useful. It's nice to know he's easy to work with.
no subject
[ He grinned at the mention of it. Obviously a good memory. ]
What's the Guardian Corp?
