[Nothing puts him in a good mood like good food! He mops up whatever condiments ended up on his plate with a bit of the not!bacon.]
Were you a chef before coming here?

I'm glad you think so, though I do fear we'll be living off those pastes for a bit if we don't come across a new waystation soon... [But at the question, he gives a little smile, humored at the thought.] Actually, I'm a butler to an estate. I suppose I simply make sure to have as many skill sets as I can, to be of better use.
... I do love cooking, though.

You're welcome to use any of my funds if it gets us good food. I'm not about the rely on the pastes if we don't have to.
[He nods along with Jarvis talking about himself, stuffing the last bit of food in his mouth and chewing thoughtfully.]
You remind me of my own servant, Bodhan. Not in looks or anything, but with taking pride in your work. It shows.
[He smiles, motioning for Jarvis to sit across from him if he likes.]
What other useful skills have you developed?

[ANY SERVANT DUDE WHO TAKES PRIDE IN HIS WORK IS A FRIEND OF MINE!!]
And as for skills... well. I try to be capable of handling whatever task is given to me. As it is, I'm relatively decent at paperwork, finances, gardening... Whatever helps keep the estate properly running.
[Here, lemme pour you more drink, thanks.]

[Adalwolfe pauses a moment, wondering what became of Bodhan after he was forced to leave Kirkwall. He'd have to find out if he was ever actually sent home, a fate that he's not all that keen on but at least he'd be able to tie up loose ends. Or make new, looser ends, which is sort of how he unintentionally rolls.
He nods in thanks for the refill.]
So you're a steward savant! Good on you. I hope people are paying you well around here for all this. It's difficult to find good servants. Tell me, are there many Humans who are servants where you're from?
[Which is a novelty in and of itself. Among Hightown nobility it's a rarity. Servants are usually Elves or the occasional Dwarf. Humans in Kirkwall tended to be laborers or shopkeepers if they weren't nobility. Or downright ruffians, but you get all sorts in the gangs.]

We don't have any other species but human, actually.
[He forgets that normal for him and normal for someone else aboard the ship... well.
You know. It's just very different.]
