Shuttle. I left my flying unicorn on the ship. [She doesn't have a flying unicorn. Certainly not a space-ready one.]

So much distinctive headwear in your world. How do you feel about magic, demons, and spirits?

Kitty, I'm a mage.

[As if that explains everything.]

Meaning you could only possibly have one sort of opinion? Trust me, I don't agree with all the mutants back home on things.

[He rolls his eyes a little but she does have a point.]

Love magic so long as its used properly, hate demons, and spirits are complicated.

See, your first response had me thinking you were pro all of those things. Do I know any demons from your world? Are any of them here? Or are they more obviously monstery? [She's been in places like this too long to even decide demon = bad. Though he does hate them. Still, she's pretty hated back home for being a mutant.]

[At first Wolfe's thoughts go directly to Justice, but Justice is still technically a spirit, if he even was a demon at all which is debatable, so. He's just gonna. Not.]

No, the only demon I know in the Fleet isn't from Thedas and he's actually pretty alright, but I've come to find that someone called a "demon" from a different world isn't necessarily a "demon" as I know them. Besides, he makes these little games for the communicators that I really enjoy. I have the high score on the unicorn one, you know.

[He relates that with some pride, and then it dawns on him that he's been out for several months and that may have changed.

He shoves his hand in his pocket in a hurry, digging for his communicator. Many beeps and boops sound from the device as he browses quickly through and then the pixelated music sounds out as he checks his score.]

What?! Second!?!

Oh, uh, Crowley? I didn't know he was a demon. I don't actually know him personally. [Just aware of him. She's seen him around. She's close to Tyrion and Tyrion works at his bar.] But yeah, there were a lot of demons in my last place and the one who was there the longest was powerful, but extremely harmless and friendly.

[She tilts her head, bemused at his reaction.] That's rough. [Getting into the shuttle and taking the pilot's seat.]

Yeah, Crowley. He's a good guy. Awful demon by my world's standards.

[He shrugs with just his shoulders, nose buried in his game. He sets himself in the passenger seat without looking, putting his feet up on the console as the tinny pixelated music of the game blares from the tiny speaker.

He is well and thoroughly distracted.]

[She glances over at him.] Wow, it's like dating Winn all over again. [Not really. As much as he loved gaming he would always choose her over a screen. He'd just sacrifice something like sleep.]

Huh?

[He doesn't look up. Look, he has to defend his high score. Also, video games are still a complete novelty for this low-tech bumpkin. Give him a break.]

Nooothing, sweetie. [No, she's never called him sweetie before.] Almost there. Good luck with the unicorns.

[She gets an affirmative grunt in response, then an earful of repetitive electronica and occasional swearing until they reach the other ship.]

Damnit, did he change the game somehow? I swear I was better at this before.

You're not winning and you've decided it's the game, not you? [Amused.]

Well I haven't changed so clearly it's got to be the game.

[Obviously.]

Mmmhm. Guess you'll have to work on this totally enhanced version of the game then. Almost to the Twin Roses.

Absolutely, only not just now.

[He can tell there's a bit of annoyance there, among other things, so he stows his communicator and prepares to dock.]

I've been a terrible escort and haven't asked how you've been all this time I was gone. Please forgive me and allow me to ask now.

[It's mooooostly amusement, but there is a part of her that doesn't like to be ignored, it's true. But then his extremely easy question manages to throw her.]

Oh, I've been... [good? fine? super terrific with a cherry on top? She can't quite get her lips to form any positive ending to that sentence even though it would be simplest. It's what she's been trying to be!] I've been pretty much how I've been since Winn left but with less public misery. Feeling a little better after my two-month nap though. [It really was refreshing but then it was immediately layered by news of a planet getting destroyed, but as long as nothing else sucks in the next couple of months maybe things will start really looking up again! That will totally happen, right? RIGHT?]

That's terrible.

[He can't imagine if Anders left, leaving him solitary in the Fleet. Maker, he'd likely waste away like in some tragically romantic poem.]

Hopefully they'll bring him back.

[He puts a hand on her shoulder in what he hopes is a comforting gesture.]

I'm sorry, Kitty.

Yeah... I hope so. Or send me to him. You know, as long as I'm just wishing for things that probably won't happen.

[She gives him a soft smile. Just trying to be strong here for months. No big deal.]

[He pats her shoulder and helps with whatever needs to be done for final approach and docking. Stepping out into the docking bay of the Twin Roses gives him pause, however. Its still home in a sense, even knowing he's now assigned to the Tourist. There's memories here still.]

I see not much has changed in a few months.

[She heads out with him.] Well, we thought about turning all the floors into slip 'n slides, but it got voted down. [She's kidding. If that had come up they definitely would have done it. Don't tell Vash.]

[He has no idea what a slip 'n slide is but he can guess from just what the name sounds like.]

Glad to have your room back though, right? The regular ones are so tiny.

[He wanders down the hall with her towards the empty room where Kitty said his belongings may be. It's odd not to see Drools or Pounce in the halls, but he tries not to dwell on it. Mostly he's just hoping for clothes that aren't jumpsuits and a few other mementos.]

Yeah, the room's been good. [It's a little bittersweet since she used to share it with Winn and it's still filled with his things.]

You guys are missed though. Not enough to give you back the room, but still missed. [She hopes he finds what he wants.]

We miss it too. Like I said, we put in for here, but Atroma has other ideas. You know how they are.

[He makes a face, opening the door to the spare room. It seems it's a bit more of a closet than a guest room these days, but there are things of theirs left which is a relief. His father's journal is right there on the spare bed, thank Andraste, and some of the clothes he'd collected from various planets. Curiously, there's no trace of his jar of rocks or of the weapons they'd made or had made in the first few months of being in the fleet.

He steps in and snags the journal first, pocketing it, then starts to sift through clothes.]

Fantastic, none of it's even torn! You'd be surprised just how easy it is to tear trousers.

Yeah, they have issues. [Get help, Atroma.

She's glad to see him pocket the book. She hopes that's what he was hoping to find.]

I mean, I was thinking of dressing dummies up in the clothes and using them for target practice, but I stopped myself just in case you returned. [She was not thinking about doing any such thing. But it does sound kind of fun now.]
