[With the tragedy of Lyuku and the entire Eyuzi system behind the Fleet, the crew of the Blue Fish and their friends are now settling into a new routine while they drift along in the relative safety of space.

As one of the few ships that didn't suffer a loss of crew during their little excursion, the crew can safely go about their duties, unless something attacks that is.]

[ People'ing is indeed hard, which is perhaps why Dorian defaults to the books he has been so kindly loaned. He doesn't want to have them for too long, so it's important for him to take notes along the way. It makes total sense.

He looks up from his book with a smirk. ]

Underestimating my abilities to preserve a book under duress? [ tsk, tsk. ]

[Snow isn't a book sort of person. He's not stupid, but he's better when he can move. You know what he doesn't do though? He doesn't judge. If that's how Dorian gets through his days in space, that's how he gets through his days in space.]

I dunno. If something happens, as Security Officer, my priority is you over the book. Just letting you know that ahead of time.

I feel that I muse disclose that I'm more than capable of ensuring my own safety.

Again, not saying you're not. But, I have a job and there are certain expectations that come along with it. Now, if you can make that easier, I'm all for that.

[Ask him about his friends from home one day, Dorian.]

I know we're all new here, but there's nothing worse than a Farron woman who is pissed. [He rubs his jaw in phantom pain.] I'd rather be hit by a berserk Jaggernaut.

Convenient. Snow Villiers. Guess that means I'll be seeing you more often if you work so close with her.

[Not a terrible fate, right?]

Have you been here long?

Not terribly long. Settling in quite nicely, all things considered. I've a few complaints about the cold, however.

Yeah, the cold still gets to me, despite the name. I grew up in a seaside town, so not the biggest fan of the weather up here either.

[Too much of a good thing and all that.]

I've grown accustomed to warmer climates, anything less is disappointing and miserable.

[ At the very least, it gives him something to complain about. ]

You can get used to anything, but I found that just because I'm used to something doesn't mean I like it.

[Snow is used to the cold to a point at this point. Being a l'Cie so long means that he's had to call on his magic more than once to fight off monsters from the Chaos and roaming around the surface in general.]

Bet if Yuj was here, he'd take it as an opportunity to try and find or make clothes that kept him warm and look good at the same time.

I take it Yuj is someone you're familiar with back home?

[And there's a floodgate he hasn't opened in centuries...

And when he speaks, his voice is rough for a second.]

He was a kid that sort of fell in with my friends and I. Loved fashion. Pretty good shot with a gun too.

[Even still, given the option to talk or not talk about it is something he hasn't had for a while.]

I think he'd like the mustache you've got. He never could get any facial hair to grow.

It's a natural talent some possess, I will admit.

[ He is very proud of his mustache. Then again, he looks like an actual child without it. ]

Some of us have to take what we can get to grow though.

Yes, that may be true, but you don't wear it badly, either. [ Just saying. ]

Perhaps you can tell that to your work partner. She's on me to shave again.
