One Fish, Two Fish, Blue Fish Mingle
Who: The crew of the SS Blue Fish and friends
Broadcast: Not necessarily?
Action: On the lovely Blue Fish
When: Month of October
[With the tragedy of Lyuku and the entire Eyuzi system behind the Fleet, the crew of the Blue Fish and their friends are now settling into a new routine while they drift along in the relative safety of space.
As one of the few ships that didn't suffer a loss of crew during their little excursion, the crew can safely go about their duties, unless something attacks that is.]

[Once she gathers up everything, she starts rummaging for pots and other needed kitchen tools.]
How are you settling in?
no subject
[ Marking his page, Dorian closes the book and sits back in his seat with his legs crossed. ]
Rather well, I expect. Given the circumstances, I hadn't given it much thought.
no subject
[Pots and pans collected, Riona begins rinsing off the veggies before going to peel and cut.]
I swear, things aren't usually that... crazy here. That's the first planet we left that wasn't in tact. Hopefully it'll be quiet for awhile.

[ He watches her for a few moments, tilting his head a fraction. ]
Do you.. need assistance? [ He has never cooked in his entire life. ]
no subject
[It's not like space has giant wiffle ball bats to smack it away.
His offer's met with a raised brow.]
Well that depends. How much of a cook are you?
no subject
[ Curses, she's seen right through him. He does his best to look nonchalant but his upbringing sort of speaks for him. ]
Does mixing the occasional potion count? [ No Dorian. It doesn't. ]
no subject
Not even remotely. [She's laughing as she holds up a pot.] How about you fill this about two-thirds of the way with water for me while I peel and chop?
no subject
[ Sliding out from his seat, he takes the pot from her grasp to fill it with water. Water is easy. She said two-thirds. Does it have to be two-thirds exactly for it to be right? Oh Maker, mistakes were potentially made.
Whatever, it's happening and he's going with it. Once it's filled, he'll just set it on the stove burner. ]
no subject
She looks over when she hears the "thunk" of the pot on the stove top.]
Perfect. See that little knob there in front of you? The one with the numbers on it? Turn it to about... oh, let's say 9, to get the water boiling.
no subject
Right. What next?
no subject
Well... on a scale of one to ten, how much do you trust yourself with a knife? To chop things, not to stab?
no subject
[ He can muddle through it, it's fine! It might not be the prettiest job, but nobody's going to lose a finger or anything. Hopefully. ]
no subject
[See, those are famous last words. Then someone loses a finger, there's blood, screaming, and it's just such a pain. Let's not do that to Shay, okay?
A six is proficient, so Riona slides over some veggies she's peeled before she hands him the knife.]
Then I crown you Master Vegetable Chopper.
no subject
It's not a spectacular job if she was going for even pieces, but hey, it's done?? Dorian can now list 'can chop a vegetable' on his list of positive traits. ]
You may want to rescind that title until later.
no subject
[She shoves the rest of the vegetables his way for him to chop while she takes the itty bitty pieces and dumps them into the pot, which is starting to boil.]
Maker bless these stoves. This pot of water would have taken ages to start boiling over a campfire.
no subject
[ And the ego goes with it, but whatever!! ]
If we make it out of here, I admit I will miss some of this technology. [ Chop chop chop. ]
no subject
[It's a part of his charm!]
Certainly makes Thedas look like a backwater bumpkin kind of place. Do you think we'll ever get to this point? Electricity and the like?
no subject
The self-heating water has to be at the top of my list of favorites. [ The communicators are pretty damn handy for quick note taking, too. He's enjoying that part a great deal. ]
no subject
[Like, how??? How do they run??]
Oh, yes. The hot water is so, so lovely. [With just a turn of a lever, hot water comes pouring down on you. It's a wonder.] Have you tried the... jacuzzi jets, I think they're called?
no subject
[ Maker, he doesn't know what that is, but it sounds wonderful?? ] I have not, but it sounds like I will need to add that to my list.
no subject
[Unlikely, but an entertaining theory all the same, she likes to think.]
Oh you must. It's bathing in warm water while water shoots out of these pumps and massage your back. It's to die for.
no subject
[ Of course, he's not going to leave immediately, that would just be plain rude. ]
no subject
Abandoning me already? Ha. I see how it is. [She sniffs that little derisive sniff that only someone who's been around snobby, uppity nobles their whole life can really manage.] Very well then. Off with you then.
