Who: Shiro and you
Broadcast: Yes
Action: If you want, he's on the Blameless
When: Saturday evening
[Text closed to Keith - Friday night]
We've arrived to the new system. How are you feeling?
[He doesn't know about the planet bringing back the sensations of the dreams yet, but he worries.]
-----
[When the feed starts, an armor wearing Shiro is sitting down and taking off his helmet as the light blue lights of his suit go off.]
This is Shiro, co-captain of S.S. Blameless.
[His face is serious, and his tone of voice means business.]
Last month, certain members of the fleet had visions about the planet we were visiting and the incident that happened after. But there are certain dreams that didn't find their match there, and it seems this new system has brought those sensations back. So early today, I went down with a teammate that had those dreams to investigate. [He frowns a bit, obviously not pleased with the result.] There are some small towns, inhabited by the orange-skinned people we usually encounter. They're heavily armed, too, because of a group called the Vieziri. They're dangerous, deadly hunters that have made the locals live in constant fear.
[His hold on his helmet tightens - it's frustrating, not having his lion, being limited in what he can help with. But he continues, the natural leader in him shining through.]
I know we can't stay in our ships forever. So if you go down there, please, don't do it alone. The bigger the group, the better. Bring a weapon with you, if you aren't the powered or magical kind. The locals are willing to sell theirs, too. Keep your communicators safe and close at all times, check the GPS function that our fellow fleet members were offering some time ago. Captains, it would be wise of you to know where your crew is at all times.
[He pauses. There isn't much more he can say other than be careful. So how to end such a feed?]
If a situation like Lyuku's must happen again, I can only hope we're better prepared this time. [ #famouslastwords ]

[Looma's feeling much better, but given the return of the visions and everything they'd learned about the Vieziri so far, there's something decidedly off about her now- not so much that she's cautious, but that everything about her seems tense and focused. The bridge almost feels more like a war room, with how intently she's studying the readouts from various systems and not devoting much of her direct attention to the broadcast.]
I have ordered the Bishop to descend from orbit. We will monitor the situation on the ground, and provide immediate fire support wherever it is requested.
[Though to be honest she probably won't even wait for a request. The moment any hostile party emerges from that wilderness, it's likely going to get itself blasted into oblivion without hesitation.]

[He understands her tension perfectly, it's how he feels too - he's just better at keeping a poker face for the sake of being a good guiding leader. The Bishop... he wants to yell no, don't go, but he knows better. And he trusts Pidge. She knows she can take care of herself. He need to be a good leader, not a coddling brother.]
Pidge has spoken well of your crew, I know we can count on you. But please don't hesitate to come back to orbit if it gets to be too much.

What dreams are you talking about?
[ He was asleep when they happened, and no one exactly filled him in on them, but then everyone had been dealing with a planet just exploding, so they probably weren't foremost on the mind. ]

I guess it was too much to hope for a party planet after the last stop. [Dryly. And not that she was awake for the last two stops. The Atroma made sure she got plenty of rest. But things had certainly been on the heavy side from what she'd heard and what she remembered before going in. Definitely a change from those early months in the fleet.]
I'll let my crew know. Did you learn anything else about the Vieziri? Are they powered or magical? Any special weaponry?
[There probably should have been a "hi, nice to meet you in there." Business first?]
no subject
[Dryly fits the mood, honestly, he can't blame her for that tone. She hasn't introduced herself, but Shiro is already going through the names of the ships in his mind. While he doesn't know everyone, he always keeps an eye on the network, and knows captains by name from the roster at least. So by elimination process...]
Bloodsport or Twin Roses? [Not many female captains to choose from!] Not powers that the locals know of, but keep in mind, they're fast and incredible skilled hunters. Most people that have encountered them haven't come back, so the information on them is limited. From what I heard, they were armor and use both close and long ranged weapons. And they know the land well - the forests are their hunting ground.

As someone who also had a vision, I must admit that I am concerned. Such violence was something that I witnessed in the aforementioned vision.
no subject
The violence is probably the hunters that the locals warned us about. You're right to be concerned. I'm sorry you had to see that, Luna, but I hope you understand I need to ask - was there anything in your vision that could help us?

My ship's decently staffed, and I know you guys are sort of unbalanced over there- do you mind if I hang out on the Blameless for a while?
[the staffing thing is just an excuse. kate's there, so that's where he ought to be.]

Besides, who can say no to a reality bender in the middle of this mess?]
Did your powers react in any way to this place? I know some people have sensed singing planets before, but I'm not sure how your abilities work.

[Since Shiro started out by introducing himself, he figures he should do the same.]
Is anyone thinkin' of going down and taking out these Vieziri? Won't they cause a problem if left there to keep wreaking havoc on the other humanoids?
no subject
So far, nobody has offered. I do want to help, but it's dangerous to jump in blind. They're heavily armed and know the land like the back of their hands. We're at a disadvantage.
