Canon Updates Can Be Hard to Do
Who: Keith, OTA
Broadcast: None
Action: Huntress, Iskaulit
When: Starting Dec 16, through to the end of the month
Huntress
[After Lance left, Keith came out of his room to refamiliarize himself with the ship. It was a strange feeling. He knew it hadn't been as long as he thought it was, but he had so much new stuff crammed into his head. What felt like months, maybe a whole year, while he was only gone for maybe a week? It was a strange sensation.
Shipmates would first notice that he wasn't wearing the familiar white and red armor, but something darker... black with purple, and it had a hood he could pull up over his head. He still had the Paladin armor, as it had remained in his room during his disappearance, but he no longer felt right wearing it.
He visited the bridge (the pilot station), the lounge, and a few other places. He found the wrapped gift in the cargo bay.
He wasn't sure how to feel about it, but it was definitely his knife. He attached the sheath to the back of his belt in its usual place, intent on heading out with no word to anyone about it.]
=====
Iskaulit
[Keith spent most of his time on the Iskaulit in the gym, working with his new gift... a large dagger that had a glowing emblem on the hilt. He seemed frustrated by something about it as he worked with it.
Outside of the gym, he visited the lecture hall to check on the information stash, and he also stopped by The Melting Pot for some food. Eventually, he wound up at Team Voltron's Lion's Den, but he hovered at the door, uncertain about entering.]
=====
Planet
[Snowmobiles? Racing? Consider it done. Keith was using the speed and racing to clear his head. In some ways, it worked even better than physical training. The idea of letting everything go from his mind to focus on not crashing was a good way to get his head on straight, right? Plus, it was almost symbolic the way the wind from racing along blew away all his cares.
That didn't mean he wasn't up for a race or two. In fact, he relished the idea of doing it, taking on challenges that might seem a little crazy.]

[action]
It's a good place to get lost in his thoughts, which can either be a good or a bad thing these days. (Sometimes it's feeling like it's getting to be more of the latter again.)
He's just readjusting some garland on a wall when he hears footsteps at the door. Lance turns to greet whoever it is, but the door remains closed.]
Whoever's there, don't just stand there all creepy like, just come in!
Re: [action]
Hey...
[That was right, Lance. Keith had waited for an invitation to come in...]
no subject
Lance smiles brightly at seeing who's entering the room, though.]
Hey, babe. You know the door doesn't bite.
no subject
Yeah...
[Keith shrugged, trying to play it off. Lance had been pretty insistent already about the whole "you're still a Paladin, Keith" thing already. He was reluctant to bring it up again. He didn't want that hanging between them.]
What are you up to?
no subject
[He reaches out his arms, making some grabby motions with his hands. Hug time, Keith!]
no subject
Yeah... Shiro's probably going to want to have a party or something. I'm guessing you want one, too, huh?
[He sounded a little amused, at least, and not grumpy about it.]
Maybe we should do it here. There's a lot of room, and we've already decorated.
[They were still working on the furniture, but they could probably hijack some spare tables from one of the restaurants or something.]
no subject
[Lance hugs Keith close to him, feeling immediately better. Not that he was in a bad mood at the moment to begin with, but he feels better getting to hold him like this anyway. Lance has always been a little bit of the clingy type when it comes to physical affection.]
no subject
He sighed into the hug, nodding a little.]
Yeah... it is a good place for it.
[He wasn't so sure about the 'not Christmas without a party' thing, but then, he hadn't really had a lot of Christmases as a kid, either. His parents had celebrated when he was really young, but, after his mom left, that sort of tapered off, and then completely stopped for a while once he was on his own. It wasn't until he met Shiro that he started celebrating any holidays again.]
no subject
He glances around, then up, and grins.]
Look what we're standing under again.
no subject
Hm?
[He looked up as well. Oh...
That felt so long ago, and, yet, it had only been a few weeks. So much had changed, and, yet... he was trying really hard not to think about that. What had changed, what he'd done... He lightly pressed his cheek against Lance's, pushing everything else out of his mind for the moment.]
Yeah... look at that.
[It was a nice reminder, actually. And he knew he needed something like that... something to get back to what they'd been before.]
no subject
[He needs this as well, the comfort and familiarity of it. And more so, the knowledge and confidence that he isn't going to be losing the boy in front of him anytime soon. Lance pulls his head back just enough to readjust and lean back in, pressing his lips against Keith's in a firm kiss.]
no subject
And they were kissing, as boyfriends, under improvised mistletoe made out of a piece of found garland less than a week before Christmas.
It was so normal that it almost hurt, but Keith liked it. It was a good hurt in all that had happened. It was a hurt he'd accept and relish over any other kind of hurt he could imagine.]
no subject
They could ground themselves in each other here, and that's what he intends to do. He continues to kiss Keith, pulling him closer, his hand resting on his lower back. as he rubs small circles along it. He dares to go just a little further, fingers brushing underneath the hem of his black t-shirt, caressing that bit of skin there.]
no subject
You know...
[He shifted his eyes towards the door for a second, then back at Lance.]
It's not exactly locked.
[Though, he looked a little mischievous at the idea, and even bit his own lower lip with a glint in his eye.]
no subject
[He gives a little grin. Because Keith doesn't seem to be too adverse to these kissing fun times, after all.]
no subject
[Keith creased brow a little at the idea, then leaned his forehead against Lance's as he licked his own lips.]
Want to?
no subject
[Lance can't help but grin even more before reluctantly pulling away, going over to the door and locking it. Once that's done though, he's right back in front of Keith, drawing him in close again.]
Sooooo...
no subject
Sooooo...
[Keith looked down at Lance's mouth for a moment, and then leaned in, the kiss starting off soft and gentle, then deepening a bit as he brought one hand up to place it on the side of Lance's face.]
no subject
[Good kiss is good. He gives a content little sigh against Keith's lips as he matches it, his hand going back to where it was before, rubbing small circles against the bare skin of Keith's back.]
no subject
no subject
He murmurs to him in between kisses, even though he's only letting up for air.]
You...are so important...to me.
no subject
Lance...
[His voice was a whisper as he suddenly held back, his head resting against Lance's. His arms and lower lip trembled.]
You're important to me, too...
[But now? Now he was scared. He was scared and confused and... lost. He hadn't felt this lost since he'd been booted from the Garrison after losing Shiro. And now, after failing as a leader, losing his place as a Paladin, and feeling like he'd let down the entire team, after almost sacrificing his life to save them... he suddenly didn't know who he was anymore.
And it hit him full force. His eyes teared up and he squeezed them shut, burying his face against Lance's neck and clinging to him in desperation.]
I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I messed up everything. I couldn't even stop that quiznaking bomb on my own. It had to be Lotor. Fucking Lotor, of all the people in the whole stupid universe.
no subject
[He knows that he's been holding these sorts of feelings in, but he hadn't expected them to come out now. Still, Lance won't blame him, make-out session put on hold be damned. Because Keith is what matters here, and he wants nothing more than to make him feel better.
Lance begins to stroke through his hair, holding his form close.]
You didn't mess up. You did your best--you did more than you had to. You were ready to give your quiznaking life, and even if I hate more than anything that you felt you had to do that, I... It's not your fault that things got that desperate. We should have done better as Voltron. Me and the others... We shouldn't have let it get to that point. You can't put the blame on yourself. No one blames you.
[It terrifies him, thinking how close he was to losing Keith. Makes his blood run cold, and that first night when they returned to the fleet, he'd woken up several times during the night just to make sure Keith was still there with him.]
We failed you. I failed you when you needed me. And I'm not going to do it again.
no subject
You didn't. You didn't fail me.
[He picked his head up, rubbing his face roughly to push away the tears.]
You supported me... against everything else. Even my own judgement. Even without remembering this place. You gave me a chance. I was the one that screwed it up. That was all me.
But... it meant a lot... what you said. And listening. And trusting me. I was really bad at it, but... I still really appreciated you doing that. It meant a lot to me.
no subject
Lance doesn't think he's very good at much, but helping others is something he can do. He might not be a leg anymore but he'll still support the rest of his team, family, friends as such. That's something he won't stop doing.]
I won't stop doing that. And I'll be there for you even more than I was before. I won't lose you again, okay? You're never going to feel alone again. I promise, I'm going to prove that to you every day until you're sick to death of me.
