I've heard of a few people finding surprises in the cargo bays of their ships and it seems it's my turn. I wanted to share them - especially for those of us from Thedas.

[He turns then, and shows what he was given. It is a collection of books. He's managed to get them into his room and has them organized by publish date. The first one has the title The Dasher's Men and the last declares itself The Inquisitor Lavellan Story. The only thing stopping this from being a complete collection is the missing copy of Tale of the Champion.]

The nearly complete works of one Varric Tethras. I even have the newest part to Swords and Shields for those of us who like silly romances.

[He smiles in a way that hints he's remembering something fondly.]

I am of course willing to let others borrow them, provided they're treated well. Each one is signed by the author to me and I like having a reminder of home.

[Even more so when the reminder is that somewhere out there his friends actually know him. After a moment, he addresses his shipmates,]

Thank you for everyone on the Wonderduck who helped me get them to my room. They turned out to be rather heavy. Someone needs to tell Varric to write shorter books...

[Gosh Cyril, it's like stars are coming out of your eyes. Fenris doesn't get it. ]

Um...yes. It is the one Hawke gave me. My Hawke...obviously.

[samahl]

[He's just going to pretend he's not a total embarrassment.]

Then it's a shame it's broken.

They do have a forge here, don't they? Could it be repaired?

[wolfuncaged]

We do, but Justice seems to spend some time there. I would rather avoid it as much as I can.

[samahl]

[Cyril pressed his lips together.]

Perhaps someone you trust could deliver it for you?

[wolfuncaged]

...Yes. perhaps that may be the better option.

[samahl]

Or I could do it. [He suggests after a moment, not wanting to just outright imply that Fenris should trust him - they don't really know each other.]

[wolfuncaged]

[There's a pause here, honestly, what other options did he have? Some of his crew, perhaps, but it's not quite the same. They don't understand the gravity of the Blade of Mercy. ]

I...you wouldn't mind?

[samahl]

Of course not.

[Then, after a moment,] It's right isn't it? That it's someone from Thedas? I know you haven't been back in a long time, you mentioned that when I arrived, but... still...

[He shrugs, not sure if he's getting the idea across.]

[wolfuncaged]

[He lets out a soft hum.]

I suppose it is. I do not think people outside of Thedas would really understand.

[Pavel was real proof of that. That no matter what, people from Thedas would always be seen as something different...more savage, perhaps, than those from other worlds. ]

[Cyril smiles, pleased that his thought process hadn't been rejected.]

You're welcome. I can pick up the pieces later, after I talk to some one at the forge perhaps? And then I'll keep you updated about the progress and bring the finished sword back to you.

[Then, after a moment, with some good humor] Though I imagine the image of me carrying such a thing will be nearly comical. [He is aware that others think him very small and short - not really build to be a warrior. There was a reason he had mostly used a bow before he lost his arm.]

It's good of you to do, I appreciate it.

[Fenris lets out a soft huff of a laugh at that. ]

Probably no more than the image of me wielding it.

[Elves are too small for greatswords, really, but here they are. ]

[samahl]

[Cyril takes the chance to look over Fenris.]

No, I think that would be very far from comical.

[wolfuncaged]

[He gives a soft 'hum' of amusement, perhaps a little acknowledgement. ]

I am told it can be somewhat intimidating.

[samahl]

I could see that. I was leaning more towards 'attractive' but I've been told my tastes slant towards intimidating. Maybe they're one in the same?

[wolfuncaged]

[Is that a blush crossing Fenris' cheeks? Sure looks it. He coughs, awkward. ]

Oh...um. Thank you. I...didn't think of it that way.

[samahl]

Don't worry, I'm sure I'll think it enough for both of us.

[wolfuncaged]

[Cyril you're gonna kill him. He chuckles, awkward, shifting from foot to foot. ]

Yes...well.

[samahl]

[He might, but Fenris being flustered is perhaps far more endearing than it should be. Still, consent is important, so Cyril adds,]

Unless you'd rather I not? I can keep my thoughts pure if it makes you uncomfortable.

[wolfuncaged]

[He clears his throat, waving a hand dismissively. ]

No...it's fine. I am just...unused to it.

[Not really true, what with Isabela and Kirk and suchlike but still. ]

[samahl]

That makes me worry that everyone in the Fleet is blind. I wouldn't want them flying ships that way.

[wolfuncaged]

[He laughs at that, a little embarrassed, but a genuine laugh all the same. ]

You flatter me.

[samahl]

I'm trying, at least.

[wolfuncaged]

You're doing very well.

[samahl]

It's good to have one's efforts acknowledged.

Then, I suppose, the next question is if you enjoy the flattery. I can always stop if that's not the case.

[wolfuncaged]

[He shifts his feet, awkward. ]

I don't hate it? [He kind of likes it, but admitting that out loud seems a little trite.] That is to say...I don't mind.
