When: Probably today, but like forwarded to take place when it's super late. It's another 3am type broadcast that he doesn't think will reach anyone when it goes up, but is willing to have people respond to when they are awake at a decent time - or not at all. Insomnia!Gil is the worst.


[The video starts with a model of a ship in the forefront. The name Tempest on the side of it is clearly visible. In the background is the engine room to the Blameless, and then a stock of red hair comes into view before Gil's face follows it.]

You know what we need? More model ships. Of the entire Fleet. You know, you could have one of the Iskaulit which is bigger than most of the others. One for the Marsiva but the rule is you only get to play with it once and then never again.

[He grins at the idea.]

The model of the Blameless would be the cutest. I'm sorry to say for the rest of you lot. That's just the facts.

And this one would be the prettiest. [He picks up the Tempest and makes to fly her around in a single motion of his hand.] But she's one of a kind. And mine.

[ There's a pause, and his expression softens ever so slightly. ]

[At least this time the response doesn't come in right after Gil broadcasts...more like a few hours later, when Felix wakes up for the day.

Not even actually out of bed yet, sitting up against the wall behind him.]

She does have a really nice design.

[Gil still hasn't slept yet and now he probably won't with the image of Felix in bed in his head.]

She's a beauty. I wish I could take you inside of her. She's top of the line luxury and her engine. [He whistles.]

It would be nice to get the chance. The ship I served on was 50 years old. Powerful, still, but nothing like top of the line.

I'd still love to see it. We could compare technology.

I definitely wouldn't mind getting a peek at the navigation systems.

[His smile's a little wry, though, since this is all stuff that's never going to actually happen.]

[Gil may've noticed that Shiro has been a bit distant the past couple of days since they lost their other captain. But one thing doesn't change, and that's insomnia, also an enemy of his.

So well Gill starts broadcasting at 3am, well... he's there to join him in the engine room, followed by his purple puppy.]

A model ship, huh? I haven't seen one of those in forever. Was that your gift from home?

[Gil welcomes the company, and the puppy. He even bends down to pet the animals, since only a pure stoic person could resist the charms of a purple puppy.]

It was. It's the model of the ship I served on back in Andromeda.

[padadin]

[Procyon of course welcomes the petting, bumping his head against the hand and wagging his tail like crazy. Meanwhile, Shiro comes closer to take a better look at the model.]

The Tempest, huh? She looks really nice. [He extends his hand.] Can I? I used to build these when I was a kid.

[Gil easily hands over the model.]

Yeah? You know, that does seem like something you'd like to do.

Maybe we really should make a model of the Blameless.

[padadin]

Does it? Should I ask why?

[Because you're a space nerd, Shiro, that's why. After taking a nice look at the model (handling it carefully of course), Shiro hands it back to Gil.]

I do like the idea. If we get to a more technological planet next time, we could look for a place with 3D printing.

I don't know...the design looks a little familiar to me.

[He's lightly teasing and his voice is soft, perhaps in keeping with the hour of the night. Mostly, it's because he has a headache, which is why he's up at this hour in the first place]

I'm curious how her design stacks up to Commander Shepard's ship, really. I wish we could compare the interior and engines.

You'd need one of our engineers for that. Best I could do would be to draw you a bad sketch of the layout. And even if I did know the specs, I'd probably be a little wary about putting Alliance secrets out in the open like that.

I wonder if we have records of the design in Andromeda. The Tempest was supposedly built from what we could gleam of the best of the best. You'd think the hero of the Citadel's ship would be among them.

Do you usually get useless stuff for the holidays? I mean...this place does give us a lot of useless things, but Christmas seemed pretty good all around. I mean, they gave me my weapon from back home.
