✩ video (backdated) ; action (on different days)
Who: Kaname Buccaneer & Various!
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Also yes!
When: Broadcast, the 10th; action, from 6th until they leave the system
[VIDEO; Public]
[The network's greeting with a smiling redhead, waving a little at the camera. From the looks of it, she's sitting at a desk aboard one of the ships, but not the sad excuse of one in their quarters. Heck yeah, personnel office.
As always, her tone is friendly, offering an easy approach should someone need it.]
When I think about it sometimes, the fact some people here don't have regular space travel back home is still hard for me to wrap my head around. For me, it's as normal as waking up in the morning. Going from planet to planet or system to system, for performances or otherwise, is so routine, I never bat an eye. It makes me wonder how close other worlds are from achieving the same thing. Or maybe you're already there.
[Only now does a striped mercat start shuffling across the desk in front of the camrea. Kaname chuckles a little, tucking some hair behind her ear before lifting him off and placing him in her lap.] I guess I want to know about that. Or maybe what's common for you but strange to others? Like back home, everyone knows the term Protoculture, but here... I think I'd be surprised if someone else did. If anyone wants to share, I'd love to hear it.
[She reaches forward, aware of the mercat's interest in the device, and turns off the feed.]
[SKATING-- anytime]
[Before the planet, Kaname never went ice skating, but she wanted to learn. Here, thanks to a lot of help from Freyja, she's beginning to get the hang of it. Someone might think that the grace and poise needed to dance and move as much as she does would translate well into this. For her, there's no such luck. Every so often she'll wobble and have to reach the edge of the lake or rink (she uses both) to steady herself. But she's determined. Skate with her, laugh at her, offer her a helping hand or hot drink.]
[SHOPPING-- anytime]
[The little attack concert Kaname and Freyja pulled in the previous system netted them a good amount of credits in ratings, so what else is there to do but spend some of it? Despite receiving her performance equipment complete with fold carbon outfit changes, someone is wanting an expanded wardrobe, as well as decorations for her office and room. Clothes, decor, and more practical supplies are all on her list.]
[SINGING-- most days]
[One thing a singer should never do is not practice. Whether she's in the dance studio, the gym, or even out for a run on the Iskaulit, she can often be heard singing a few different songs. Some are more common than others, but there's a variety. Only rarely is she quiet or simply humming. Her job requires her to project, so she does just that.]
[OTHER-- ???]

[She moves Q-Lulu closer to the camera, and tilts him slightly. He makes a confused noise.]
Re: video
Yeah... I know.
[He gave Kaname a weak smile.]
It helps to be reminded sometimes, I guess.
You free now?
video
[At least something's getting through.]
If I wasn't, I'd make time. Come on over, we'll be in my office.
[The mercat lets his mouth hang open silently.]
Probably.
Re: video
[Please don't make him think you might do that, Kaname.]
But, yeah... I can be there in a little bit.
no subject
Let me know if you need help finding the place.
[It's a joke.]
no subject
I think I'll be okay. I have a good sense of direction.
[With that, he'd sign off... and then get to her office about ten minutes later.
He knocked.]
Still in there?
no subject
[There's some shuffling from inside, but soon, the door opens, and Keith's greeted with a smiling Kaname.]
Come on in, have a seat. Compared to some things, the couch isn't so bad.
[When he does, he'll find Q-Lulu already sitting on the couch, too.]
no subject
[He quirked an eyebrow at her.]
And are you going to sit in a fancy leather armchair with a notebook while you listen to me poor out my problems?
[He did head over there, though, and then leaned down to look at Q-Lulu. Tentatively, he reached out a finger to let the little creature sniff him.]
no subject
[With that out the way, Kaname moves to join them, chuckling as Q-Lulu simply presses his head against the offered finger.]
He's not very good at inspecting things.
no subject
I guess not.
So, he's okay with petting?
[Keith carefully moved his hand, resting it on top of the mercat's head and gently petting the little thing.]
Like this?
no subject
[Kaname sits on the arm of the sofa to watch them.]
Mercats can live in the water or on land, but some sort of balance is best.
no subject
[And it was actually kind of comforting to pet him, too.]
And he's from your home?
no subject
[She chuckles as the mercat rolls on to his side.]
Freyja got him from Atroma last month.
no subject
[Keith blinked as Q-Lulu rolled over. He hesitantly rubbed the exposed belly.]
Do you also live the rest of your group?
no subject
[He lets out a small, happy sigh.]
Mm, partially. I live in a dorm with Freyja and one of the pilots, Mirage. She acts as a body guard when we might need one. Makina and Reina live off by themselves, and Mikumo... Well, maybe she might join us soon.
no subject
[He smiled a bit, rubbing the belly more confidently now.]
That's not bad. It's nice having everyone in one place, like we have with Voltron, but it's also kind of nice to have our own space. [Lies... he was lonely with the Blades and he knew it. He just didn't want to admit that he might be regretting his decision a little bit.]
no subject
[She nods.]
We have our own rooms, and there's plenty of space. And unlike here, we're not limited to select areas. A lot of us eat together, simply because we're that used to each other.
no subject
Makes sense. We do the same thing, I guess. It's a big Castle, but there's one kitchen and one dining area. So, we just... meet up for meals. It's kind of nice.
Well... yeah. They still do. I haven't been back to the Castle since I left the team. At least, not on that level.
