It's been a quiet, relaxing month for the Goldstone, which has both an upgraded lounge and a returned crew member. The fleet soon leaves Selvin-9 and its strange snow behind and starts to drift.

[since the crash and subsequent destruction of her prosthetic, Tempest has become somewhat more adept at one-handed functioning. At least, when it comes to important things like tea, sometimes food. In the time since, she's returned to her routine of daily tea trips, and especially the kind that take place late at night.

Growing used to things has made it so she spends more time out, at least, more comfortable than she was previously. She lingers in the kitchen the most, taking time to savor her tea rather than drinking it as quickly as possible. That doesn't mean she's in a better mood per say - when is she ever nowadays? - but her routines are starting to return to what they previously were]

[so maybe she couldn't resist the option to adopt a pet this time around . . . or two, since she couldn't choose between them. Which brings her total to three - and means her door, when she's in her room, is firmly closed to prevent escape.

But that doesn't mean she doesn't let the animals loose on the ship. Oh no, the cargo bay has become a frequent visit as of late, to give her otter and leopard space to run around. Occasionally, the lizard makes an appearance, too.

Tempest speaks to them both in Elvish, and you might even catch her attempting to teach any of the three some sort of trick . . . and spoiling them rotten no matter the outcome]

[He pauses at the door to the cargo bay when he catches sight of Tempest inside being adorable with an otter. Or maybe the otter is being adorable with her. Probably a little bit of both. She seems like she's trying to teach it something. He smiles before clearing his throat. Daxamite present.]

[she only jumps a little bit, having been focused on trying to teach the otter a new trick. She immediately drops her hand and whirls to glance at the interruption.

The otter scurries up to her shoulder to peer around her head to see who it is, too]

Hi. [Walking in closer.] I don't think I've met your friend yet.

I don't think anyone has. [she reaches up to carefully take the otter off her shoulder, then offers him over to Mon-El] His name is Charles.

bawww, she named him Charles!

[Mon-El carefully takes him, smiling brightly.] Hey, Charles. I'm Mon-El. Nice to meet you, little guy.

[she can't help but smile a little] I could not resist adopting him when I found out there were otters on the planet.

I saw some of that. [But he hadn't really thought about getting a pet for himself. Maybe he and Kara should have discussed it.] Well, you made a good choice. He's very cute and seems like a playful guy. Have you always liked otters?

[she shakes her head] It is a . . . newer thing. A friend of mine endeared them to me. It is who he is named after.

Charles. Was he someone you met here?

He was here, but I did not meet him here. I met him in another world we were both in a few years ago. [she shrugs, reaching out to gently scratch under Charles' chin] Did you know him? Charles Xavier.

No, I don't think I ever did. Were the other otters in the other world you were both in before?

No, not that I saw.

Yes, let's go with that. Regardless, that is who he is named after. Rohan, on the other hand, is just a name I like the sound of.

[and she gestures to the snow leopard sleeping curled in the corner]

[He's not sure how to take that answer.] That sounds a little shady, but I'm accepting it. [He looks over.] Oooh, look at you with the full crew.

It isn't shady, it is side-stepping. [at least she's honest] Mmm, and the lizard you already knew about.

I don't think I know the complex differences between the two, but I'm glad I've met all of them now.

Side-stepping is avoiding the topic. Being shady is . . . being suspicious in a bad way, I believe. [she thinks that's what those mean, anyway] Mmm. Hopefully they do not become a handful.

If you ever need someone to otter sit I bet Kara would love it too. Or any of them sit. Which is not about sitting on anyone or anything as I learned.

He smiles at being top of the list not because he expects her to need pet sitting so much as because she seems to like him better than she once did.]

[she shakes her head, reaching out to wiggle her fingers at the leopard, tempting it closer as it stirs]

I would not know what tricks to teach them.

We could figure out some custom tricks. Maybe we could get them to steal things from Crowley.
