January Goldstone Mingle

Who: Goldstone crew and visitors!
Broadcast: As desired
Action: The Goldstone
When: Month of January

It's been a quiet, relaxing month for the Goldstone, which has both an upgraded lounge and a returned crew member. The fleet soon leaves Selvin-9 and its strange snow behind and starts to drift.

Fingers crossed for an easy journey?

Yeah. I have more knowledge about how to fix stuff around the ship and keep it going. Better to be prepared in case we're invaded again, right?

Yeah. At least in attack if the engines aren't damaged we can get away. Though, now that I think of it, I haven't actually gone down to the Engine Room to watch them work. Felix is in charge of it over here.

[She only knew him by name, not having had the moment to introduce herself now that she's returned to the fleet.]

I could show you around the Red Fish's engine if you want? I'm probably not as good as Felix is, though.

[ He's getting decent at trial and error, now. Although, he knows the Red Fish isn't for everyone, with its permanent blood stains scattered about. Not that they haven't seen their fair share back home. ]

Sure, I'd like that.

[It was nice, being able to just have normal conversation that didn't involve the insanity back home.]

It's kinda nice... being back. I guess it's a good thing we forget it. Then we'd have things we might actually miss about the place.

Yeah, it's.. probably better that we don't remember when we go back.

[ Things are conflicting enough as it is, trying to keep on top of what to remember from where and talk around subjects would be tiring. It's already tiring. Having to do it in front of more people would be absolutely draining. Hard to keep up with the lies. ]

Still - I bet you'd like remembering how to work on engines when you go back. Though maybe not spaceships... you could apply it to somethin' else.

[Whereas she'd already had the medical skills thanks to her father. Now if she could just forget all the other things that happened back home here, now that would be nice. Losing Glenn was still hard even on a good day. She carried it with her. But putting that to rest for now was on the agenda of the day. She turns back to the noodles she was working on, stirring them. At least they hadn't started to boil over while she had been talking to Carl.]

That would be nice if remembering selective things were possible.

[ He'd like to keep his engineering skill, but would rather leave the raids, the cannibal planet, and the like behind. They have enough bloodshed back at home. Carl watches her stir the pot. ]

Do you think the others will come back?

Mm. I don't know. It'd be nice if it wasn't just us, if we could have lives here.

[Or a close approximation to a life. Drifting from place to place, never really settling to find a home... that wasn't a life. Being stuck on these ships for months on end wasn't a life. It was just, unfortunately, the life they'd been given. It would be nice if Rick or Michonne or Enid and the rest could all be with them. Right now it was just her and Carl.]

It kind of makes me think of when we first got here - remember when we were on the Marsiva? At least this time being split up isn't so bad. I came back remembering this place.

[She stirs the pot once more before setting the spoon aside and turning off the heat.]
