I AM BLAMELESS (arrival)

[ Startled is a good word to describe the look on her face upon suddenly being ported onto the bridge of the Blameless. It takes her a solid ten seconds to fully register what's happening, and that standing there staring like a confused idiot probably isn't going to answer any questions she has.

And she has a lot of questions.

The first and foremost being where is she? Last she knew she was on the Marsiva, trying to go through all the knowledge that had suddenly been thrust upon her when she arrived. Now she was here, uncertain but slightly intrigued by the change in scenery. Eventually, she wills her legs to move forward and start down the hall, peeking into any doors that might be open and calling out. ]

Hello? [ Surely there must be someone here. Curiosity has her still walking aimlessly though, sometimes pressing buttons on doors just to see what they might do (they open the doors. amazing) because this is completely alien to her and it's incredible. ]


Iskaulit (various)

[ YEAH SO. Lioriley is a huge nerd. Huge nerds love books so as soon as she finds out there's a library you can bet that's where she's headed. Chances are high you will find her with a stack of books beside her, around her, or even on top of her because she has no self-control when it comes to devouring any and all knowledge she can get her hands on.

Alternatively, she might be at the Space Bar attempting to (politely) interrogate anyone willing to talk to her. Approaching with a smile and a light in her eyes that should not belong to anyone so unwillingly thrust into a new and odd situation so out of their element. ]

Good evening! [ She thinks it's evening? Uhh. How space work? ] You are a part of the Fleet, yes? Would you be so kind as to indulge me? I have only just arrived and I have — oh, far too many questions to ask at once, but if a few could be answered...

I'd never been almost-cannibalized before arriving here, so there's that. There's also something very humbling about watching a planet cease to carry life.

[ He pauses, frowning, and downs the rest of his drink. ]

The bad moments aside, it can be a truly wonderful place. I've made friends I would not have, otherwise.

What of the less unpleasant worlds? What have you and your friends done together that you could never do back home?

The last planet was less homicidal, but far too cold to be considered 'tolerable'. [ He sniffs in displeasure, but he is a hot house orchid who yearns for humidity. ]

Let's see.. I've come to have a grudging interest in 'movies'. An interesting concept, but entertaining, to say the least.

The closest approximation is an opera performance. It is played out in front of you, as if you are right there. The topics range about as much as book classifications do. People here are very fond of them.

[ She's silent for a few seconds while she tries to paint a picture of such a thing in her mind. ]

Fascinating. I would like to see one of these movies sometime. Do you think someone would be inclined to indulge me?

[ Her markings remind him vaguely of Fenris and his lyrium tattoos, though it doesn't seem to be the same thing. ]

The Blameless. [ She seems pleased as she says it. All good experiences thus far aboard that ship. ] Should I expect a visit?

It's certainly a possibility. I am stationed to the Blue Fish, should you need anything at all.

I will admit, my curiosity may have me venturing to any ships I am allowed to board.

[ She reaches out, a hand resting over one of his briefly. ] Thank you for your willingness to assist me, Dorian. I do have another question for you, though.

[ Of course he reaches out and offers her a pat on the top of her hand with his free one, giving her a smile. ]

[ Hurray people that aren't weird about touching. ]

House Pavus. Is that a noble house from your world, by chance? Forgive me if that is too personal a question, but you do have a very — regal air about you.

It is similar to one, yes. In Tevinter, the country I am from, magic rules. The ones who are highest in power are Magisters, who are high council members of the senate. Below that, you have the Altus class- which is what I am considered.

[ He waves a hand in dismissal. He's trying to keep from rambling too much. This is all probably just splitting hairs for anyone who isn't familiar. ]

My father is a Magister, as was his father before him.

[ The words magic rules seem to catch her attention easily. She ends up with her elbows on the table, chin in her palms as she listens to him speak of his homeland. Don't dismiss this! Rant, Dorian! It sounds fascinating. ]

So you are a skilled mage, then! Do you specialize in any particular type of magic?

[fantachetic]

As a matter of fact, I do. I studied thaumaturgy, and I am one of few Necromancers. A pity, really- it's quite beautiful magic.

[ Terrifying. Also terrifying for the people he's using it on. ]

[invigorates]

Raising the dead? [ She's only heard stories of necromancers — people to be feared in her world, no doubt, for the magic was powerful and all consuming; dangerous to learn and even more dangerous to practice. This man, Dorian, does not seem to fit the image she has of Necromancers. ]

Quite the opposite of myself, it seems. I have honed my skills in Mending, mostly, as well as Alchemy — healing and water, as it were.

Less raising the dead and more 'binding the spirits that are attracted to death'. A common mistake.

Ah- I am unfortunately quite rubbish at healing spells. As much as it pains me to say that I am bad at anything.

[ He can throw up a decent barrier, sure. Actually healing someone? Nah. His attentions had gone elsewhere and he never actually bothered to learn it. ]
