[The job is a one off, a crate that needed to get down to the docks quickly because it was accidentally left off the original shipment, and for which the Flash is here for the job. So in comes Barry in a flash of red and gold lightning, and he skids to the stop not far from Thor, looking down to read the label and see where it's supposed to go.

And then he looks up and sees Thor with a grin.]

Hey! I think this is one of yours.

[Thor straightens up quickly when the burst of lightning comes in - not his own, clearly, but still very familiar to him.

Of course, Thor's changed a bit since the party where Barry met him. The loss of his hair and one eye being the most obvious signs.]

-- it looks like it! You came from the shipping yard already?

[It's not exactly close by.]

Oh yeah. I'm speedy.

[Though not Speedy, the archer. Why Thea has that nickname, Barry will never know, but he's going to borrow the adjective right now. He then tips his head to the side at the changed state, but trying not to be too curious about it.]

If you need something transported, I can get it there in a flash.

So I can see. Is it the lightning that lets you travel at such speeds?

[Lightning is definitely fast, and it seems to play some part in Barry's entrance.]

Oh! Right. That was quite some time ago for me.

It's not often I meet anyone else who can create lightning, though in the Fleet it seems a lot more common.

[Which is... annoying, but he does his best not to say so. He's still the god of it, so he's the best.]

[He blinks a bit until his brain slots the "for me" into place and he nods. Right. Atroma loves to play with time when given the opportunity. He'd rather just stick with his speed for now.]

It's not that often for me either. Though I'm known more for my speed than I am for my ability to create lightning. The lightning is just friction.

Ah, so it is a side effect then. [That he can live with.] I knew a man once who had speed like yours, though I never saw him create lightning in that way. Perhaps it was slightly different.

Maybe.

[Who knows why DC speedsters have lightning and Marvel speedsters don't. Probably because Marvel was killing Pietro anyway, so they didn't think about it too hard.]

Do they have access to something called the speed force?

Speed force? I don't know - he never mentioned it, but we did not really have time to talk much.

[And now that guy's dead.]

Is that where your power comes from?

Most speedsters where I'm from can access it. Usually there's some kind of event to trigger it, like I was struck by lightning combined with dark matter, but yeah. It's really hard to explain.

Now that sounds like quite a tale. I would think getting struck by lightning would usually end poorly.

[A beat.]

That's usually my intention when hitting people with it.
