I'm used to cold. Maker, sometimes I radiate cold. As long as its a natural cold like ice I'm not very concerned by it. It's when it's the cold of the Void that I start to think twice.

[Space sucks and is terrifying, Pavel. It's so bad.]

And that does make a sort of sense. Everyone has their own style of things, I suppose, even shipsmiths.

The void? What void?

[Surely he isn't talking about space. Surely the Void is some awful thing in Adalwolfe's universe.]

Shipsmiths. I have never heard engineers called that. It sounds far more dignified, I think.

[The Void is the absence of creation in Andrastian doctrine and if space doesn't fit the bill, Wolfe will eat his proverbial hat.]

Ah, engineers, right. That's the word.

[He shrugs, trying not to get defensive over his lack of knowledge.]

There's blacksmiths and silversmiths and whatall and ships are made of metal, so I just figured...

[Space is beautiful and wonderful, this is crazy talk!]

No, I like shipsmith. Closer to shipwright, which is also a word for someone who makes ships. Language is baffling.

[He holds up two hand-sized pieces of metal--nearly identical, but one is a bit rounder at the edges--for inspection.]

Which of these do you prefer aesthetically?
wolfehawke: (Actually you're wrong)

Uuhhh probably the sharper one. What's it for?
candothat: (¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Selling. One of my jobs today is assembling an attractive display.

[The person who gave him this task probably meant that in a 'display this sale scrap in an attractive way' sort of way and not a 'display attractive pieces of scrap' way, but.]

What are your jobs today? All delivery between the planets?
