[Tyrion is behind the bar of the Malun, hands folded over his ledger as he gives the camera a deep and pensive look, before he flashes a bright smile, mischief twinkling in his mis-matched eyes.]

So let me ask you something, fellow Fleeters. How precisely does one go about finding a 'lady friend' for entertainment outside of one's ship? I have been told by no less than three friends that I should have female companionship and yet I have no idea if anyone is interested or in fact, would ever be interested. I believe in your more modern parlances you have the joy of choice over your partners, something I have always envied. So how does a man, who looks like myself, find someone who wants to spend time with him in a romantic fashion without promising money and or a noble title?

[He folds his small hands around his bearded face, leaning forward.] I am listening. Intently.

Do you recall how often you have told me that I am ... that I have to be easier on myself in affairs of the heart and people would see me as I was and not who I thought I looked like? I dearly wish I had listened to you instead of assuming that no one ever could.

I made my wife mad at me by ... well by running a prank comment that she took offense to because she thought I was, first, going out of my way to cuckold her. Not to mention that she wants us to be ... serious and not a dalliance ... Jim.

Oh, my apologies ... I keep forgetting that the other Sansa would not allow me to tell anyone ... Sansa and I were married in Westeros. Well, in the spirit of marriage. We never consummated it, obviously.

_{[ There was almost an audible record skip in that moment as his eyes
widened at Tyrion. ]}

She never said anything to me either - this Sansa or the former one.

So are you two still married?

Yes, apparently it is ... now ... a marriage and not a sham.

[Tyrion rubbed one hand through his curls.] Women are a baffling mystery, my friend.

[He frowns.] You know that is still in question - for one she is from either a future Westeros or an alternate one - and she married Ramsey Bolton. That marriage was ... forcibly consummated. [Bolton if he ever finds you...] However she is willing to null it for our bond. [A sigh.] I was just unaware she wanted to - make it - all the way formal.

[Another pause.] She is also nineteen.

_{[ Well this is a complicated mess and worse he feels a burning feeling
in his gut at the knowledge of what had been done to Sansa. But that was
not what they were talking about and he didn’t feel right discussing it
when Sansa herself had not told him. Besides, this was about Tyrion. ]}

Well, it’s not terribly surprising is it? Considering the nature of your world and that she is a lady of status, it’s not a wonder that a marriage would be important to her, entered willingly or not. She has pride and her husband openly seeking other companionship - it has to sting, in a number of ways I’m sure.

You consistently underestimate your own charm and worthiness, Tyrion. But more than that - and I say we both have this problem - you tend to assume what people think. You’re smart, but sometimes to smart, and I think you add layers to things that don’t really need layers.

So, what are you going to do to apologize? This is a grand gesture sort of situation, by the way.

.... yes that is quite true. However, considering, everything, I thought she would not want anything to do with me. Beyond good friends and allies. However, here we ... are. I have created a quagmire and shamed an excellent lady.

I ... have no idea. I had some thoughts of giving her some of the flowers that I have grown in my engineering lab. However, this seems to be too small.

But see, you just proved my point - you thought she would not, but you never actually asked her, did you? And considering everything she's been through, she at least deserves a conversation around that. It doesn't mean you can't be truthful either, though. If you seriously don't want a relationship with her, then you need to make that clear as well.

Basically you two just need to talk - honestly and clearly with each other.

I think it's a start. What sorts of things does she like? Is there something she's working towards here that you could help with? I seriously think the words "I'm sorry" need to be uttered at some point, and actually from you, not written down or anything.

Truth, flowers, dinner ... by the Seven. I honestly thought I had left this all behind when I swore off whores.

[He pinched his brow momentarily.]

She ... likes peace. Security. She used to be fond of poetry. She likes sewing, some reading, and animals of a gentle and fierce variety. Riding, although there are no horses here.

Maybe you represent those things to her here. She's in a strange world, far, far beyond anything she's ever known, without her family. Except you. You're here, and you're her husband. That's probably the most secure thing she has, if I was to take a guess.

You could get her a book from the library to read, or even construct her a poem. You're excellent with words. The animal part I'm not sure about, though we have a small colony of slugs on my ship. You could give her one of mine - they're quite soothing actually. Does she know about the garden on the Iskaulit?

_{[ A pause. ]}

I think, above all, don't treat her like a child, Tyrion. You said it yourself. She's nineteen, and she's a strong woman who definitely knows what she wants. Treat her like it.

I am not 'treating her like a child'. I have never treated her like a child. I saw her beaten by my nephew, clothes half torn from her, and she looked me straight in the eye and told me she loved the bloody monster without a quaver in her tone and a hint of lie on her tongue. She is one of the hardest, most amazing women I have ever met and I swear, Jim, the only two mistakes I made here was -

Well, not understanding that she does not see our marriage as a sham and ... that she liked me as more than a friend.

However, I will apologize for that. There is no excuse for being a fool.

Apologies go a long way, though I think you're going to spend a bit proving it.

I think a good talk will help you both, though. Just - clear the air, I suppose. What is it you both expect and want out of this marriage, if you want to continue it at all, that sort of thing.

And you should have more confidence in yourself, Tyrion. You don't notice when people are serious because you've convinced yourself no one will ever see you as so. But you're a good man, in your own way, Tyrion. Even if you do act the fool sometimes.

I cannot deny any of that. Honestly because I have let myself trust in people's affections and gotten horribly burned ... you know, Jim, I do believe I am a horrible judge of character when it comes with my own personal affairs.

It's quite possible. I can be too.

But I think you can trust Sansa, Tyrion. You can trust me. This isn't your world, where everyone has a dagger behind their back.

Yes, just the people controlling our air, food, and living quarters ...

Well, I never said some people didn't.
