[Kitty appears on video looking a liiiiiiittle different than the way she usually looks. The augment had some fun adjusting her. She’s not a cat, but she’s certainly got a lot of catlike features which isn’t unheard of for a mutant.

The pupils of her eyes are no longer round, but a slit. Her nails have also changed, growing to a point and hooking slightly to serve more as claws. Her fangs have extended slightly. Her ears now come to more of a point and are soft and fuzzy like the rest of her body. There’s a short layer of fur everywhere now, similar in color to her usual skin tone, but with gray tabby-like striped markings appearing over certain parts of her body like her face, legs, arms, and tail. Oh, yeah, there’s a tail too. Of course there is.]

Okay. Just get all the puns and jokes out of your systems right now.

[You might spot the direwolf pup, Seeker run by with Kitty following him.] Come on, it’s still me.

[Or maybe you just run into her in the kitchen, bridge, lounge, engine room, or shuttle bay. There are only so many places to be on the ship after all and she gets cagey being all locked up during the drifting weeks when she’s at her best. Right now she’s even more restless than usual. And you know how she’ll often sit on a table or counter instead of a chair? Well, she’s still doing that, but sometimes she’s taking it even more extreme being up on the top of book shelves and various equipment.

You could also find her in her room if you’re looking for a more private moment.]

[ Iskaulit ]
[As awkward as she feels in this body, she’s not going to stop living her life because of it. That means time spent training in the gym where she very awkwardly isn’t sure what to deal with her tail. You might get to see her step on it again. It also means she’ll drop by the library to replenish her book supply and Jarvis’ for some food. A girl’s gotta eat!]

[He relaxes slightly as she backs away. Although he's surprised to find that he's also disappointed.]

No. Not yet- er, well, except the two times I've fallen into a coma. Are you counting those?

You've been turned into a guy before? [Vash tries to picture that.] I think I like you as a cat better. [He bites his tongue before he can add on that it makes her look cute.]

Yeah, for about a week sometime before our ships merged. Definitely a big surprise for me and Winn.

[How does bringing up Winn feel?]

I like the cat thing better too. [Though Winn had still made her feel pretty good about the body she was trapped in back then too.] Actually, I had leopard spots once before back in Marina. No fur though.

[goldenglasses]

[Surprisingly awkward instead of the usual missing/sadness.]

What?! What's the point if there's no fur?! Oh!!! Can I get a balloon and rub it against your arm really fast?

What's the point with fur? [What's the point of any of it?]

I wouldn't try it. One of us believes in murder, remember?

It's soft to the touch! And uh... keeps you warm? And for static electricity to give people small shocks! That can be fun!

Like getting a balloon to stick to your fur! Besides, you'd have to catch me to be able to kill me. And I happen to be an expert at running away! [Said while she is still within easy grab of his neck.]

I'm not letting you rub a balloon on me. Why do you even have balloons?

I don't. Part of the challenge will be to find some out in space while we're between stops. I'm sure someone in the fleet would have one they can spare! [Seeing as he popped every single one of the over 130 he was sent for his birthday last year.]

Oh, yeah? And what if I did it while you slept?

And don't you want to help the cause? It's for science! Somehow, I'm sure.

[Squinting at him suspiciously.] Murder you? [Okay, her instincts aren't quite as severe as they used to be. Even back home she'd phase first, murder second if necessary, so it's not likely she'd be dispatching anyone for approaching her in her sleep.]

Hmmmmm. Well, I suppose I do disapprove of suicide more than anything and I'm pretty sure you could kick my ass. So alriiiiiiiiiight. I give up! [It was too much effort anyway.]

You disapprove of suicide more than anything? Even more than cookies that you think are chocolate chip but turn out to be raisin?

Oh! [Vash hums to himself and puts on a show of thinking really hard over the choice. Even tapping his finger to his chin a couple times.] I mean, that is a really tough choice, but I think I still have to say that I disapprove of suicide even more than raisin cookies that lie about being chocolate chip cookies.

Are you done being ridiculous? [As if she didn't start some of the ridiculousness. Having her body changed on her definitely shortens the fuse somewhat. She also feels bad about mentioning murdering him twice, something she'd never do, so clearly she needs to be grumpy at him for the things she said.]

[goldenglasses]

I suppose I could be, but not being ridiculous is a bit boring.

Look, honest, I won't try to rub any balloons on your fur. And at least as far as glitches go this isn't really so bad. I mean, you still look cut-good and at least you're still in your right mind.

[You don't call your Co-Captain cute when you're trying to be serious even if you are thinking it. Hopefully she didn't catch that small slip. But, god she does look cute even with all the fur.]

I'm cute, huh? [STILL cute. Yeah, she caught that. And even if she hadn't he did just tell her she looks good.] So many cat lovers in this fleet.

What's your cat's name again? [Relaxing a little.]

Well-uh... yeah! Or do girls not like being called cute... any... more... Look, I'm just going to stop myself there. [No man can safely answer that question as he suddenly can't make eye contact with her. It's not because he's embarrassed suddenly or anything! Okay, maybe just a little.

Then that quickly fades as his face changes into a scowl at the mention of his cat. Who for the moment has happily curled herself up into a ball to sleep right in the middle of the hall.] Kuroneko. And I'm not sure I'd call myself a cat lover.

I don't think we've had the official girls meeting to decide yet. I'd probably still figure it out person to person. [Teasing him lightly.]

Why do you have her if you don't like her?

[goldenglasses]

I did try to get rid of her! Not because I don't like her, or cats in general, I just thought we had enough pets on board. I didn't need one personally. I found her a nice stable family, but after drifting for a bit: poof! there she was again.

[He's just particularly angry for the moment at her for running down the hall with his under ware.]

There are a lot on board. I guess the Atroma really wanted you to have her. [She's had three people leave her pets and now that Remy's transferred over with all his cats.] When I was drunk [the famous time she was drunk] I talked to Pavel about taking Laura's cat. I wonder if he really would.

[goldenglasses]

[And kissed him. He will never forget that famous night.] Oh- yeah? He did that night? Well, I don't see why he can't if he wanted too. Unless of course you've changed your mind about letting him look after her now that you're sober.

[That's the night alright. Hard to forget even though she was very drunk.] I'm not sure if "wanted to" is the right term here, but maybe he'd be okay with it. [She shakes her head.] I never really planned to have pets at all. I like them all and the slug isn't much work, but like you said there are a lot here already. She might be happier on the Tourist.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. There's enough room for them all. [He speaks a bit more gently now. He didn't mean to make people feel like they had to give pets away.] I like how they fill this ship with movement and life anyway. If you want to keep her here and watch over her then I think that will be fine.
