sixteenth labyrinth | Party because I can
Who: Felix Harrowgate and you
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Málum
When: Today-ish
[It's largely boredom that leads Felix to this decision. Either in the Mirador or Paradisa, he'd been fond of finding any reason whatsoever to get a few people together for food and drinks. The company generally meant more than the setting, though of course it was far easier to arrange things at a snap of his fingers than it was here. Still, he manages it within a few days of the fleet's time adrift.
That morning, he addresses the network.]
Hello again, dear fleet. Felix Harrowgate of the Goldstone here, if we haven't yet met. I've put together a little soirée this evening, at Málum. Consider it an appreciation of our time of peace and quiet...or the beginnings of spring. Whichever sounds best to you. It isn't much, admittedly, but there is food and drinks and hopefully people. May as well enjoy things before something else explodes, hm?
Oh, and semi-formal attire would be appreciated, not that I intend on turning anyone out at the door. I'm sure many of us have a little something in our closet that doesn't much get to see the light of day. [Well, not so much in his case, of course, but the point stands]
See you all tonight. [He closes the feed with a smile]
[That night Málum is - not transformed, exactly, but - altered. The stark furniture softened with simple white tablecloths, with centerpieces cobbled together from wine glasses, candles, and flowers from the garden. The neon, for the night, has been switched off. Even the galaxy of lights on the dancefloor have been changed to project the shape of flowers.
The food laid out is fairly basic but fitting the bar's wheelhouse - meats cooked inside puff pastry, thin stacks of sauteed vegetables, and mini quiches to name of few. The finale sits in the form of the lemon cake (commissioned, likely, from the Melting Pot). Some of the flavor is even real lemon!
Drinks are free within reason and music plays softly in the background, for anyone that feels like dancing. Felix would have preferred more classical selections, but all of this is a case of working with what you have.]
[EDIT: If you wait too long Sansa will have stolen most of the cake]
((ooc: This is essentially a mingle, so feel free to make your own top levels and have some fun!))

Katie McCoy | OTA
SUP. You can feel free to look down your nose at the lady in the jeans and rumpled anorak delicately selecting a collection of pastries from the food to go with her drink. Or later, when she's perched somewhere near the dance floor with cake and watching the goings on with interest. She's not really the, uh. Formal party type. But she will constantly turn up to them. Go figure.]
no subject
Thus it's with a kind of bemused exasperation that he crosses the dance floor to come stand near her seat.]
Enjoying the cake, I hope?
no subject
It's the best I've ever had. [She has manners at least to finish her mouthful before replying, giving him a cheerful grin.] Did you make it? I shall have to tell Mr Jarvis he has competition.
no subject
He laughs.]
Hardly. I learned a few things in my time as a cook here, but I'd never claim to be quite that competent. It was my idea, but Mr. Jarvis' expertise, I assure you. I won't take more than partial credit for it.
no subject
Oh, Mr Jarvis! That explains its excellence, then. It's a pity he's not here.
[She puts her plate down and holds a hand out.] Katie.
no subject
Felix. Not that I made a secret of that.
[He tucks his hand back a moment later and gives her a thoughtful look] It was you, wasn't it...that issued the first warning on Lyuku?
no subject
Lyuku. Was that the system name? I'm afraid I'd forgotten.
[Roundabout confirmation. In a sense.]
no subject
I find it dreadfully hard to forget. Regardless...thank you.
no subject
[...Despite her outward dryness, Lyuku is... not a good memory. But it's not a good memory for anyone. More softly, she adds--]
You're welcome.
no subject
When you say 'my kind'...?
no subject
Human, of course. Like Crowley.
no subject
Well, you look like you hate every second of this.
no subject
Absolutely. I wouldn't be here at all if I didn't have to be. [If he's carrying a plate of meat foodstuffs, she's totally stealing one.] What about you?
no subject
You have to be? What, did they make you or something? [He smiles, shrugging. ] Looma's here. I came to keep her company, more than anything.
...Also for the free food.

no subject
[He smiles, pointing her out in all her giant, four armed glory. ]
There she is, she looks great, right?
no subject
She looks like the kind of woman nobody should dare to underestimate.
no subject
I know right? She could crush us all like ants.
no subject
[Katie you don't sound terrified]
Are you having a fling?
no subject
[He rubs the back of his head. ]
It's complicated. Her species have very different...uh courtship rituals. I'm working on it.
no subject
[Like that would be cool.]
no subject
I mean-
[SHIT. Now he has to think about it. ]
I mean...I don't think it does?
no subject
[:D]
no subject
Why are you like this.
