[Getting used to a new lifestyle has been a challenge that has been made more difficult by the fact that he doesn't have his pack here. Nor his mate who also happens to be his Beta. Without that balancing force and without so much as a job to do he can slowly feel himself getting...twitchy. Which means that he falls back on the most comforting thing in his life and the thing he obviously does the best.

The unfortunate victim? The SS Blameless.

It starts off small. The dishes get replaced for real ones. The quality of tea goes up. A piece of art comes to decorate a wall or table to make things more homey. However, it doesn't stop there. Oh no. The werewolf is in full takeover now and he's going to make this the finest looking ship in the fleet if it kills him.

Should you be one of the crew you can expect him to show up to discuss how to improve the look of your quarters or even the look of your work station. Should you be someone visiting well you can be sure to find the shortest crew member of the Blameless moving about fixing things up.

And yes. He did put welcome mats in front of the cargo hold doors and the shuttle bay doors. What about it? Just because he's not a commanding officer doesn't mean he can't manage something.]

[By now, Kaname's been to the Blameless for a few visits, even with Messer crashing in her office at least half the time. However, this is the first she's seen a welcome mat. Or two.

Exiting the cargo bay has he standing there, staring down in amused confusion.]

Well, this is new.

[Sandalio just sees her exiting the cargo bay and makes a quick note to talk to his captain about having people not come onto the ship through that area anymore. It could be bad if they come during a time when it's the full moon, after all. Especially since that door is locked during those days.

For now he smiles at her.]

It is. I've recently added them. Welcome aboard. May I offer you some tea?

[She lifts her head at the new voice and smiles politely in return.]

Ah, they're a nice touch. Very welcoming, as they should be.

[Kaname blinks, then nods.]

I don't see why not. I'm here to visit a friend, but a detour won't hurt. I'm Kaname.

[He nods his head politely and has her follow him to the kitchen. Here he pours her some tea and sets it up on a nice tray with some honey and lemon.

Because obviously he already had tea prepared. What sort of man doesn't have tea prepared for possible guests?]

Thank you. [She has a seat with a smile and nod. He's definitely the welcoming sort, and it's nice to see that put into action on a ship.

That man would be a downright dog.]

This is fine. Are the mats to make the ship more hospitable?

[Justice probably wouldn't have even noticed the new decorations if it weren't for the fact that they all exude sadness.

Also, Loyalty is now starting to scratch the new curtains.]

You know that it is not right to destroy things.

[Justice is sitting on the floor, talking to the snow leopard kitten that is currently scratching the curtains rather than just carrying her away. Loyalty looks at him, and almost as if she's being deliberately defiant as she draws her claws down the curtain.]

I provided you with a scratching post, and there are natural consequences for doing wrong. Do you wish for the little robot to chase you again?

[Walking in, he notices his crew mate on the floor with the leopard. He hasn't seen a lot of either of them but he's known they were here. After all, hiding from a werewolf nose is very, very difficult.

He's surprisingly not as upset as he could be about the scratching of the curtains and instead goes over to very gently boop her nose before lifting her to bring her onto the lap of the man on the floor.]

Cats can be quite defiant ones. They don't usually listen to reasonable explanation in my experience. Though, while I have you here, I would like to discuss how we should see about decorating your work space. You are security, yes?

[Loyalty mewls in protest as she's taken away from her prize, but she calms down quickly as Justice starts scratching that just right spot behind her ears and she melts on his lap to purr.]

Yes, I maintain the armory. You wish to decorate it?

[Justice questions the wisdom of putting flammable curtains in a space that may contain explosives.]

It need not be anything dramatic. However, I am sure we could come up with something. After all, I really am not sure how you all have lasted this long with the ship in such a state.

[Upgraded? Yes. Personalized? Ugh. How have none of you done something about this? Well, leave it to the gay fashion werewolf to save you all from yourselves.]

Perhaps if you have the time we could take a look to see what we might come up with?

As long as the space remains practical for the storage and use of weapons, I do not object to decoration.

[Justice isn't much of an interior decorator himself, but he does find beauty and charm in mortal creativity. Decoration is a natural extension of that.]

I will go with you if you wish, but I doubt my input would be valuable.

[Messer's probably one of the worst culprits when it comes to boring, nondescript rooms. Having just arrived, he didn't have much to begin with, but it's been like a month and literally the only thing he has in there is several piles of organized scraps and parts from the planet in a corner, alongside a toolbox.

You can guess that when presented with a question of how to redecorate, his enthusiasm is somewhat lacking.]

"Improve the look"?

Naturally. It would help to make for a comfortable living space. Even something as simple as a rug or a better mattress can do wonders for someone.

[And it doesn't look like he is taking no for an answer. Really it's just a matter of how much he'll get away with before Messer puts his foot down. Solidly. Because Sandalio is quite stubborn.]

Have you any preferred colors palettes?

[Messer stares at him for a long series of seconds before turning back to his desk, where he's organizing a pile of small parts into boxes.]

There's no need. It's functional the way it is.

[He's no stranger to stubbornness himself.]

Functionality can still be personalized. Even the most functional of places will still have that bit of something to show the person behind it all. Perhaps even something as simple as a rug or sheets in a favorite color.

He glances around, then gestures towards the wall.]

That colour.

[The very bland, very boring, not-a-colour-at-all grey. Love that shit.]

[He returns from the planet with box filled with stuff in his arms, so at first he doesn't see the welcome mat in front of the shuttle bay door. But when he finally steps on it, it's hard not to realize the floor has become... softer?

He turns to his side.

Looks down.

Raises an eyebrow.]

[Sandalio happens to be walking by the shuttle bay door with what appears to be some lovely folded sheets. Of course he hears his captain and he pauses when he hears the question.

A smile appears on his lips.]

Of course. Since this is one of the two entryway doors it is really only natural that we should have something to welcome people coming in. I've also seen to it that we have proper dishes and a tablecloth for the table. Not to mention better tea.

[He is quite pleased with himself and it shows.]

I'll never say no to better tea.

[He stares at the rug for a moment while taking into account what Biffy just said. TWO rugs, dishes, tablecloth... he can see where this is going. And yes, he can tell how proud Biffy is about it all, too.

But excuse Shiro for being a bit amused.] Sandalio, are you redecorating the Blameless?

[One would think he'd be flustered over being caught in the act. Instead, he looks at the taller man and doesn't even blink as he looks in him the eye. As if this is the utmost important thing they could possibly be discussing.]

Of course. I had rather thought that was obvious if I am to be honest.

[And yes. He has been bullying the others into participating. Which basically means they aren't getting a say other than what they might want color-wise.]

Speaking of which, we need to discuss your areas as well.

[He chuckles.] I guess you're right. It's just not something you usually expect for space stations.

[So it may've taken them a moment to catch on, oops! You'd think that the man living in a CASTLE-SHIP could get it quicker, but to be honest, the Alteans don't seem big on decorating either.

Not wanting to stay on the rug forever, Shiro starts making his way to the bedrooms area. There's a box of stuff he needs to put away! Coming, buddy?]

[And of course Sandalio had managed to come across Ulaz in the lab. Where else would he be? Well, probably a lot of other places, but he was still making sure the lab was arranged for his taste and being able to find things quickly.

Ulaz had his hands full with a chart that he was making a list of what he had so he'd know when stuff needed to be reordered. Hopefully, that wasn't often... But at the comment, he did look up from his work and look back at the other member of the crew]

Redecorate this lab space of yours. Since you only just recently arrived I believe now is the perfect time to sort through this matter. It would not only make it a more comfortable living space for you but for those who come here as well.

[That and something about his tone says this is happening anyway so Ulaz should probably go along with it.]

Does it need to be redecorated? I think it is perfectly functional as it is.

Functional can still be personalized. Then it would be more welcoming and comforting for those visiting this lab. Perhaps even provide a more relaxing atmosphere to make it easier to do your job.

[He's not sure why he's explaining various ways to do a bedside manner properly but here he is.]

[A more relaxing atmosphere? Anything was more relaxing than a glowing purple room with the stuff the Galra thought were good tools to have around. This was already a thousand times better than that.

Still, color him curious. How would someone make a medical facility more "relaxing"? Because of above reason before, he wouldn't have a clue to where to start on his own or if it was even needed]
