[this one is sent in audio only, because goodness no one needs to see his current face--though, his voice isn't right either. it's too light, too delicate, and there is a little too much purr to it. especially without the aid of a video feed, it's hard to tell whether the speaker is male or female or monster at all.

and the tone is nothing but flat.]

Everyone is safe and accounted for? Nothing is entirely amiss? Wonderful.

So, I guess it's about time to start returning to our old routine, hmm? Everyone ready for things to go back to normal? Especially with such a good distraction from our recent little 'vacation home,' I know I sure am ready to forget about everything that just happened.

They always said we were here for others to watch. I never thought it would involve something like...this, but that shouldn't be as important as the fact that we all made it.

[Shirley's tone is conciliatory, but she doesn't look so pleased either.]

Of course we made it. If they ruined us entirely, where is the suspense in that? They want an audience on the edge of their seats, not disappointed.

I expect the serious maimings won't happen until next time. Maybe they'll even through in a death to spice things up.

Depending on who's watching, there could be people who enjoy watching us die as well. I don't think anyone who could watch all of us being taken against our will cares much about our lives. If we're different from them, it may even be interesting.

Oh, I am sure there are people who would love to watch our deaths. [and he says this with certainty because hey kind of a sore subject right now.]

And I am sure they are working up to more--toying with our heads and lulling us with false reassurance before disaster strikes again.

Which is all the more reason to start thinking of ways to fight back now, before it gets worse.

It's not a bad idea, but they haven't given us many ways to do it. Not quickly, at least.

[She's thinking things like messing with the show, trying to draw people out, but there's no guarantees with that kind of thing.]

Of course they haven't. We're going to have to get creative. You can only out-think a captor that you can't reach.

And, yes, it's going to take time before we come up with something that works. But if we don't start now, it's never going to happen.

I don't know how many friends counts as a lot, but I'm very happy with them so I think I'm in a good place.
