[The smart thing to do would be to not leave her busted up ship to go find Tek on another ship without backup and without even telling anyone where she was going, and yet here is Jove making her way to the Red Fish's cargo hold with nothing on her except a few gifts to... what, make up for what she did? No, she doesn't plan to ask for forgiveness, or to try to explain why she had done what she did. Out of a desire to protect she had been part of what nearly killed Tek, and there's no taking that back now. She should have contacted him sooner, found him before now, but there's nothing to do for that either.

[in the corner of the hold, surrounded by a few blackish stains on the floor, is a pile of blankets and pillows that have been arranged into a sad excuse for the nest he'd built back on his ship. and in the middle of this makeshift nest is presumably Tek, wearing one blanket swaddled around himself like the layers of a robe--complete with a hood pulled forward to shade his face.

and even from across the hold, it's pretty clear that very little about him is as it should be. even the aura that he normally carries around with him feels like only a shadow of what it was before. he only loosely resembles the person that she's familiar with... though the low, hateful little growl that he answers with might ring a bell or two.]

[the closer she gets, the clearer it is exactly how deeply that dying and coming back has affected him--both physically and much deeper than that. his face is marred, the structure and features of it all slightly the wrong shape, and his skin has none of the human color that it should. he doesn't even smell like something living. the scent that hangs around him is more acid and old blood than anything else.

and it turns out that the sound he breathed had, in fact, been a growl of warning.

maybe it's the fact that she's already seen him as a monster, or that the anger at everything else has worn through restraints that he might otherwise have had. maybe the rush of fighting for survival floods right back at the sight of her. whatever it is that gives him that nudge over the edge, he's moving fast in an instant, as soon as she's close enough.

his hand snaps out for her wrist, aiming to grab it and drag her forward as he leans forward to meet her. teeth bared, face twisting into a monstrous snarl, a hiss seethes murderously out of him. he wants to yank her off balance and get right in her face. communicating on an animal level instead of trying for words.]
