Can Any Of Us Even Get Drunk

Who: Space Bar staff and special guests
Broadcast: N/A
Action: Space Bar!
When: One fine night after closing

[The Space Bar staff made good use of the ever-replenishing alcohol supply at their last stop, and Nami and Remy got around to discussing the idea of testing various experimental mixes to come up with new additions for the menu.  I mean, add to that Nami hasn't made a decision which one of the applicants should take the main bar job, so clearly the best idea is to shove them all into one place and ply them with alcohol while they talk to each other and work it out after that.

No, it's a good idea.  Shut up.

...okay.  It may just be a good excuse for a party.  Sue her.]

((ooc: this is a mingle!  It's open to job applicants and regulars who hold their liquor and their plus ones.  If you think that might mean you, you're more than welcome here!))

Little over ten years ago? [he gives a shrug] Is what it is. Sucks less than dying, right?

[he appreciates the lack of pity; he had enough of that when it first happened] Hah, I got my wallowing done early. No point to doing it now.

Define complications? Arm malfunctions sometimes, I get sick easily - think that's the worst of it, honestly.

Usually it just fixes itself; the arm is older tech, but all the stuff in it is newer, so sometimes the programs decide they don't like each other and my arm stops working for a few minutes. Same goes with my eye - [he gestures up to the right one] - but it's never really bad enough that I gotta find a tech better than I am.

I mean, unless you've got assholes setting off EMP shit in here, there shouldn't be any problems.

Uh - what's a nebula gonna do?

[he knows nothing about space Nami does he have to worry about nebulas]

Oh. I hope we avoid them, because otherwise I'm fucked.

[he doesn't sound too worried about it, at least. He's been EMP'd more times than he can count, surely nothing can be worst than that]
privateeyed: (take a look around me)

[at least someone appreciates his bluntness]

That's something, at least. I don't have to worry too much about everything going into system failure, then. [...] I'm exaggerating, but it's still a pain in the ass when a bunch of your shit runs on computer nonsense.
privateeyed: (that's the best way to do it)

[personal profile] privateeyed 2018-05-11 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Unless they're magical computer healers, it won't do much good. At the very least, my bullshit restarts itself without outside interference. Worst case, I lose my voice for a few hours. I have yet to have something fail and stay that way.

[. . . he knocks on the wood of the bar] Just in case I just jinxed myself.

[he doesn't mind the questions at all. He gives a shrug]

Vocal chords had to be rebuilt too. I had fun when I was in the army.

That's what I've heard from a few folks, but yeah. I should be dead twice over, but tech and shit.

[he's so casual about it]
privateeyed: ('cause it's what I'm used to)

[personal profile] privateeyed 2018-05-15 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, same. [he's pretty ambivalent on his own survival, though] Guess you don't have any cyborgs wandering around with pirates, eh?
privateeyed: (pic#12178957)

[personal profile] privateeyed 2018-05-16 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously? [...] What, does he look more robot than human?
privateeyed: (i think they got it all wrong)

[personal profile] privateeyed 2018-05-18 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
That's . . . unique. [translation: fuckin' weird]

It's actually a - I don't know, trend? Style? To make some prosthetics look robotic now where I'm from. But that's mostly people who got 'em just to have 'em, not people like me who kinda needed them. It's real stupid.
