[The Space Bar staff made good use of the ever-replenishing alcohol supply at their last stop, and Nami and Remy got around to discussing the idea of testing various experimental mixes to come up with new additions for the menu. I mean, add to that Nami hasn't made a decision which one of the applicants should take the main bar job, so clearly the best idea is to shove them all into one place and ply them with alcohol while they talk to each other and work it out after that.

No, it's a good idea. Shut up.

...okay. It may just be a good excuse for a party. Sue her.]

[Crowley turns to look at her, a touch curious, but not unwelcoming. People generally don't seek him out unless someone else has pointed them in his direction. Still, he does recognise her, from around the Fleet. Been here a while, he thinks. He flashes her a smile. ]

Guilty as charged. Has my reputation preceded me again?

Only if your reputation just consists of you being a demon who's been here since the beginning of the fleet. Oh, and owner of the classy bar. Wouldn't want to leave that out. [She also knows which ship he's on from being a roster stalker.]

The bar part is the best part, to be quiet honest. There's bits and pieces, but sure, let's say that's the more major points.

You're Kitty, right? [Because he absolutely stalks everyone's private channels. ]

You got it. [Not fazed by him knowing her name since it's almost harder not two know a couple of years in, but with the way the ships are so segmented it is easier to go without meeting everyone. At least easier than it was back in the prison.] Took us awhile to cross paths.

[She used to stalk private channels in Marina too until someone stuck a thing in her head and now for some reason she can't seem to learn alien tech the way she has her entire life to do basic things.]

[He's just terminally nosy. They don't have TV here, he's got to get his kicks somewhere. ]

True, but you know, there's a lot of ships. Impossible to keep in touch with everyone.

[She did it as some sort of counter intelligence measure for protection and to protect. But after awhile she wasn't sure why she was doing it anymore and eventually stopped. The people there weren't enemies. At least not most of them. Though she likely would have picked the practice up again briefly in the fleet if she'd been able to. She certainly tried!]

Or at least it would take time away from working on our vices and who can have that?

[Those are much better reasons than plain old boredom. ]

Oh, I try to encourage any and all attempt on bettering...or perhaps worsening our vices. Part of the job description, you know.

[She trolled newbies on the network when she was bored.]

Yeah? That kind of demon? Are you all super biblical?

[A noble cause, in his eyes. ]

Quite literally, in fact. [He raises his glass in mock cheers before taking a drink. ] I'm the Serpent of Eden.

You know, I would have expected more scales for that. Fewer limbs too. Shapeshifter? [The casual attitude of a suburban ballerina who loved computers and grew up fighting cybernetic armies led by people with fantastic powers and then thrown into not one but two collections of people from the multiverse controlled by unseen overlords where she met demons, angels, and gods.]

[He flashes her a smile that's a little too sharp for comfort. ]

Demon. We can change our shape however we like. I stick to this one because it's my favourite.

...Also limbs make like a lot easier.

[Okay, that is a little creepy.]

You say that like there is only one kind of demon. Then again the kid who was always calling himself a demon back in the prison did always suddenly have a mullet when he'd use his powers. But his powers usually seemed more elemental. [The "kid" was also only a few years younger than her, but you know.]

[Anthony Crowley, bringing in the creep. ]

Honestly the mullet thing probably suits most of the demons I know back home. And technically my powers are elemental, and, well, everything. Reality warping, and all that.

[Mentally taking all that in. If everything he's saying is true and they aren't some kind of low level, parlor trick thing he might be one of the most powerful people in the fleet?] No mullets for you though?

[He very likely is, of course his terminal laziness does then to scupper that kind of thing. He grimaces.]

Ugh, no. I do my very best not to fall into any fashion faux-pas like that. I actually like myself too much to do that to myself.

Thank god, a demon with high self esteem. [Thanking god is appropriate here, right?] And fashion and style sense. That's what you really want in a demon. [Doesn't really know much about demons but she hides it well, right?]

Well, He had a hand in that so sure.

[But he'd rather not. Daddy issues and such. ]

I'd like to think it's better than what you usually get from demons.

My run ins with demons have been pretty mild, but then you're all from different universes so things vary. What do people usually get from other demons where you're from?

[Crowley grimaces. Other demons from his world aren't his favourite thing ever. ]

At best, a being that doesn't understand how you work and just tries to whisper sins into your ear until you do something. At worst- [he thinks about Hastur and pales] you don't want to know.

Hmm... Sounds like a guy I used to hook up with. [No, it really kind of does. She takes a drink, still curious about the things she doesn't want to know.]

[He grimaces. ]

The first thing? Were they actually a demon or just some weirdo?

Kind of both things actually. It did not end well. [Either time it ended.] But, no, not a demon. He was a noah. He was born human and then he got this extra...possessing force? Which was more malevolent and driven. [As deep as she was into things with Tyki and Allen back then she's actually not entirely sure how all the details shake out. She knows what it felt like, but the terminology is harder.]

So complicated, but also biblical adjacent.

OH. Noahs. I know what those are. I've been- [family ] close to Allen Walker for a very long time. ...It wasn't Allen was it?

[Because wow would that be awkward. ]

[Her eyes widen in surprise at the suggestion it could have been Allen for a number of reasons. The first of which being she had a close relationship with him too that was never remotely romantic or sexual. Not to mention when she'd been close to him he'd been younger than her and her deal is always older guys. She has trouble even seeing people her age entirely as peers. You'll have that when you socialize a young genius with adults only for most of her teenage years and then put her in charge of people only slightly younger at the end of them. But the biggest reason is, of course, that Allen Walker is an exorcist, not a noah. At least to most people. But he was also the fourteenth and it wasn't something he shared easily. At least hers hadn't.]

I guess you really were close. [Or knowing was a demon power thing. Or...the Fourteenth had taken over.]

It was Tyki Mikk. [If you're going to hook up with a noah, might as well be the noah of pleasure, right?]

Allen was my first friend in my last interdimensional abduction though.

[Crowley had watched Allen grow up, from a surly teenager into an adult. It had been...quite some time. Of course, Allen had never AGED in that time, not until he came to the Fleet and started buying upgrades. But then, Crowley never aged either. It was easier to accept Allen for who he was, what he was.

And he absolutely knew about the Fourteenth. Met him, more than once. It was never a fun time. ]

He was family. We knew each other for about nine years or so.

[And Allen's loss still weighs heavily on him. Out of all the people who have flitted through his long, long life, Allen is one of the ones that stuck the most. He's one Crowley will carry with him unto eternity, if he gets the chance. ]

Ugh, met him too, once or twice. He was alright, I guess.

[Bit weird. At her last comment, a faint smile crosses his face, rare, genuine. ]
