Can Any Of Us Even Get Drunk
Who: Space Bar staff and special guests
Broadcast: N/A
Action: Space Bar!
When: One fine night after closing
[The Space Bar staff made good use of the ever-replenishing alcohol supply at their last stop, and Nami and Remy got around to discussing the idea of testing various experimental mixes to come up with new additions for the menu. I mean, add to that Nami hasn't made a decision which one of the applicants should take the main bar job, so clearly the best idea is to shove them all into one place and ply them with alcohol while they talk to each other and work it out after that.
No, it's a good idea. Shut up.
...okay. It may just be a good excuse for a party. Sue her.]
((ooc: this is a mingle! It's open to job applicants and regulars who hold their liquor and their plus ones. If you think that might mean you, you're more than welcome here!))

Nope, no insurance investigation work. What'd they do to you?
no subject
Also that is a very impressive resume!

Anything surprise you? [Or dismay you that you didn't already know?]
no subject
Hmm. Teacher! I didn't know you teech-taught!

That is part of the training, right? [As he suddenly realizes he's assuming things.]

[She looks more somber. She's not going to hold it together well if he goes down that road.] It's not a good topic, Vash. [Softly.]

Want to know the biggest, most expensive thing Bernardelli said I destroyed. [He probably shouldn't look so proud of this.
He also doesn't normally like to let conversations focus on himself, but to let Kitty's mind get off her trouble he's happy to in this case.]

Then this renowned thief named Gasback said he was going to steal from this guy and ruin him. Which, he did, but he didn't steal the statue, he just destroyed it. The worst part of it all? I go blamed for it! Just because I was sight seeing in town! [There to stop Gasback from killing people.] They say I helped him with his master plan! [Because he got himself involved and painted a target on his back.]
Oh, man. I really thought Meryl and Milly were going to turn me in right there to cover the losses, but luckily it was discovered that guy was a criminal who lied about where his money came from to buy the town. So he was arrested and they didn't have to pay out the five billion in the end. [He's hoping that quick retelling will help distract her.]
no subject
You're pretty close to Meryl and Milly, right? [She's pretty sure she saw things in his memories.]
no subject
[He smiles at their mention.] Yeah. I complain about them, but really, they're good friends. [They're the only ones he's been willing to kill for.] No matter what I did to try to leave them behind they were always chasing after me. Even after I got labeled a natural disaster and Bernardelli would no longer cover any claims for damage I caused.

[She likes the way his face changes when he talks about them.] I'm glad you weren't alone there.
no subject
Me too. I hate to be alone. It's worse than only having day old donuts to eat!
no subject
[A nod.]
Yeah, I hate the alone thing too. [And while she's been far from alone this last year she has been lonely. She lost a lot of connection and intimacy when Winn left. A big piece of her life was just ripped away and she's been reluctant to fill it if it can't be just as it was. That reluctance is wavering more and more.] Even more than week old donuts.

It's not a favorite way to be.
