[He'd heard Kaname singing in the gym that one time when they'd first properly met, but that hardly at all prepared him for this. Lance is awestruck at her performance; seeing her up there like that is a treat for the eyes and the ears alike. She fits so easily into the role of idol, it's almost hard to believe.

When the performance is over, he rushes to meet her.]

Holy crow, Kaname, that was incredible!

[His reaction is a welcome one, and she can't help but laugh happily.]

I'm glad you think so. It's been a long time since I've performed solo.

[She brushes some hair out of her eyes.]

I hope you get the chance to see all of Walkure perform some time. We're much better as a group.

It's been forever and a half since I've seen a concert... But I'd definitely see you perform a whole show.

[Smile! He's hype about his awesome you are, Kaname, okay.]

Yeah? How many of you are in the group?

[Even if she's not in the fleet anymore.]

Nice roster! I, uh, I actually really like girl bands and idol groups... My brothers used to tease the heck out of me for it, but screw 'em. You gotta tell me when you're performing next so I can cheer you on again.

[The thought actually has her giggle, shaking her head.]

Clearly he never knew what he was missing.

Awesome. And hey, if you ever feel like giving out idol lessons...

[He grins a little.]

That's an interesting idea. Do you think you could handle it?

[She may only be half joking.]

[the_tailor]

If I can handle the training Allura and Shiro put us through, I can handle anything.

[He nods firmly.]

I like your optimism at least.

[Kaname's smiling.] I'll let you know if I decide to train you.

Yes, ma'am!

[He gives her a salute.]

I can definitely dance, and I have a pretty decent voice, and a tooooon of charisma as you know, so got those down already!

There's so much more to it than being able to sing and dance. Charisma's only a small piece, too. Don't get ahead of yourself.

[Now her smile is a sort of wistful one as she thinks back to something she's not going to share aloud.]

Singing, dancing, charisma... What else do I gotta work on, then?

[He hums. Lance doesn't exactly know much about what it takes to be an idol--his closest gig to it was the Voltron Show.]

If you have to ask, it's probably not for you, then.

[It's a cliched reply, but it still holds true.]

Why is that?

[A good starting question as any.]

I mean, yeah, I'm not gonna lie and say that I wouldn't love to see my name in lights and all that, but... I mean, I learned a lot back home when we were doing the Voltron Show. Aside from all the crazy stuff Coran had us do when he was off his rocker, it was good, being able to do something that wasn't just fighting, to give people hope and stuff. I never planned on being a soldier to begin with, so...

[Shrug.]

I'm down with finding ways to give the universe hope that isn't just shooting things. And I won't lie and say I wouldn't love the attention, buuuut. It's not all selfish.

[For a long moment, she's silent. Then the singer actually gives him a decent reply.]

Singing and performing is all I wanted to do for as long as I can remember. I tried debuting as a solo artist first. A few years went by before it was obvious it wasn't going to work out, so I retired. Then I was hired to be Walkure's manager. When they found out I had what they were looking for in a singer, I joined the group even though it meant being shot at and possibly being killed. As long as I could do what I loved, it would be worth it.

[Kaname offers a half smile.] I think it's okay to be selfish sometimes when you have a chance to do what you really want. Just make sure that it's something you're prepared to devote yourself to.

[Now it's her turn to shrug.] This likely isn't it, but I'll be willing to help you figure that part out. When we're finished on this system, we can come up with something.

I'm definitely a pilot, not an idol, but still, I think it'd be nice to have some of those skills. Could end up bleeding into each other positively somehow, who knows? Worse comes to worse, I pick up a really cool hobby. But I'll totally devote myself to it! Well, as much as I can. Paladin training still has to come first.

[Even though 6am, grumble grumble, damn you Shiro.]

Yeah. That sounds great.

That would be a nice end result. Of course your current obligations take priority, but I'd still like a commitment to this.
