Lucina? [The mask definitely catches her off guard, and it takes Kaname a moment to place the voice. Once she realizes who it is, she gives her a friendly smile.]

Thank you. It's what I do back home, and I was happy to find a chance to continue it here.

Yes. [Lucina smiles as best she can with the mask covering so much of her face and gives a slightly awkward wave.]

This is the first time I've seen such a thing, but you have a beautiful voice. Lady Tiki sings from time to time, but it's nothing quite like that.

There are all sorts of ways to sing. It depends on the feelings of the singer, the song, or even the reason for it. It wouldn't be as wonderful as it is if everything were too similar.

I...would not know much about that. There aren't a lot of occasions for music to be shared where I'm from.

[Not much time when the world's ended and you're fighting against Fell Dragons and all that.]

But this all seems to be rather...exciting, like a festival. Have you figured out what it's for?

That's unfortunate. I hope you'll find more of them in the fleet at the very least.

[She hums in thought.]

Are you referring to this specific event or the system as a whole?

I hope so as well. It would be a welcome change.

[She would have liked to participate in some of the festivals and things in Ylisse when her aunts and parents and all of their friends were around. She has very few happy memories from her childhood.]

Both, I suppose. I gather that sporting events seem to be the lifeblood in this particular system but I don't... see the point?

Hm, well, some competition is a good thing. It can keep people on their toes. [Kaname smiles, a little empathetic to Lucina's confusion.]

But this is more than I've seen before. It's probably best just to go with it and find enjoyment where you can.

No, I agree that competition can be healthy. [She smiles as she remembers the way the Khans of Regna Ferox compete for the opportunity to lead their country.] And there's nothing wrong with keeping other people alert of their surroundings.

I just wish that I understood the basis behind selecting a...team to root for. Do they select them based on colors or players or the planet the team originates from? How are outsiders like us supposed to find a team to side with?

It could be any one of those. Or a few, if you feel them compelling enough. [She steps to the side to allow for easier conversation.]

Perhaps the natives are aware of reasons we aren't, but that should affect your choosing.

[Lucina moves to the side so that she's also out of the way of anyone who might be coming through on their way to the stage and shakes her head a bit.]

I'm not sure that I really care for any of the teams. However, I do find their excitement a little contagious. It's hard not to want to cheer alongside them.

It's true, this type of energy is infectious. I hope you can enjoy it, even if you don't pick a team. [Grinning, she shrugs.] I haven't.

I don't think that I will choose a team, if I'm honest. However, I do find that this sort of atmosphere is...reminiscent.

[Lucina looks around and shakes her hair as she quietly chuckles.]

This is a good sort of feeling. From what I understand, it's not something that is seen very often during our 'travels'.

Not to this extreme it isn't. Of course there are people who will find time for competition, but as far as I'm aware, there hasn't been anything to this height before.

From what I've seen since I've arrived, it's been rather quiet on the Fleet. I know that's not always been the case, but this...break from fighting has been nice.

[And not likely to last. She knows that too well.]

Have you explored any of the rest of the system? I've been trying to keep busy, but there's only so many times I can avoid be dragged into conversations about the sports teams.

[Kaname nods in agreement, deciding to not tell her about what they'd been through when she first arrived. Instead, she opts for a more conversational reply.]

It's definitely an odd mix of things.

I have! The beaches remind me of my home, so I've been spending an abundance of time there. [She wants to add something else, but she finds she can't ignore it anymore.]

Lucina, if you don't mind me asking, why are you wearing a mask?

[Lucina reads, Kaname. And the Atroma are nice enough to make it so she can go further back than her arrival as well. Things haven't always been great on the Fleet, she knows.]

Perhaps I will venture down to the beaches eventually. [Unlikely. Very unlikely.

Kaname mentioning the mask makes Lucina reach up to touch it self-consciously.]

It was a gift from a friend from home. I don't like the thought of people I don't know staring at me, so I've been wearing it outside of my room unless I'm heading to the Bloodsport. Evidently my "fans" think it makes me look mysterious.

Well, from my perspective, it's also likely to be the cause of some staring as well. It's not exactly a common accessory.

I don't mind if they stare while I wear it. There are worse things to happen.

[The mask makes her feel comfortable and reminds her of her friends back in Ylisse.]

So, is this what you do back on your own world? Sing and perform for crowds?
