Yeah, I was thinking that. Maybe I could add the feathers in somewhere for subtle accents? Or accessories to go with it... I'll give it some thought.

Do you want me to get another one? [Since there aren't going to be a ton of useable feathers with this one and all, even after he finishes cleaning it.]

[tsunergy]

Only if we have room on the ship for the extra meat.

[He suspects yes, since Sorey isn't the sort to kill needlessly, but he doesn't want to accidentally encourage it anyway.

...but yeah he kinda wants more.]

['if we have room' hahahaha] Oh yeah, sure...I was gonna bring it all back with me...

[Snort.] Or just eat it all here, if you're determined.

Not all of it! ...but some of it. [look he hates that meat paste, seriously]

Don't worry, I'm not going to judge you for it. [Much.] I know you too well for that.

Yeah yeah, whatever. A lot of this meat will be for trading anyway. Ben got me duct tape. [Sweet, life-saving duct tape.

With the kill properly tied up, Sorey picks it up to take it over to the stream nearby, instinctively leaning on Mikleo's power to lead him there without him having to track.]

[you and duct tape... how does the ship always need more?

Mikleo walks alongside him, glancing around to get a better look at the scenery now that they're no longer focused on hunting.]

I'm still surprised at how nice this planet is... am I too cynical now? I keep waiting for something to go wrong.

[monolike]

Maybe a little cynical, but considering it's saved us quite a few times I don't think there's anything wrong with it. [Even if it can be annoying and put a cramp in his 'leap before you look' style of exploration.]

[tsunergy]

Hmm... well, I'm glad you haven't forgotten that.

[He's a little smug about it, and it shows, even if there's a sliver of unease beneath it. It's still early, he hasn't really shaken the lingering distress from the last planet.

He's trying, though! Look at him trying.]

[monolike]

[He is trying, so hard.] Did you see all the buildings in the square? [Sorey picks his way carefully down to the bank of the stream, watching his footing over slick leaves and mossy rocks.] The buildings that soak up sunlight, and all the trees planted in them?

[tsunergy]

[Okay yeah he can get behind this distraction.]

I did, actually! It's amazing. I had no idea there was a way to collect that kind of energy and turn it into something that could be used as actual power.

[monolike]

Right?! So cool. I'm gonna see if they'll let me copy some blueprints later, maybe stick some of those panels on the ship. [Crouches by the water and starts washing off his kill properly, careful not to bend any of the feathers.]

[tsunergy]

I like that idea. There's a lot we could learn from this place, I'm sure.

[Mikleo sits down next to the water, leaning in to dip his fingers in. He doesn't really need to purify it, since it's already incredibly clean, but he still likes to add in his own personal touch as Sorey works, especially since they want the feathers in finer condition. He leaves the actual cleaning to Sorey, though- even if meat and blood didn't cause him to fuss, Sorey'd still be better at it than he is. With such a small creature, an extra pair of hands would only get in the way.]

I wonder what they do on days that it's overcast. Is it stored away somewhere?

[monolike]

I'm not sure... [It would make sense, though Sorey has no idea how much sunlight those things capture, and how much energy that light converts into. It's a mystery.

He smiles at the chill of Mikleo's purification; he's right, the stream is already crystal clear, but it's more about Mikleo connecting with his element in a way that comforts him. It's nice. It's really nice. Hopefully Edna is enjoying the feeling of non-polluted earth beneath her feet, too.] Maybe even if it's overcast, they still get light? Since it's not as dark as night time, there has to be some sunlight still, right?

That's true... or perhaps it's able to draw power from the moonlight as well.

Either way, the people here seem nice enough. Maybe we can find some books on how they gather and store it.

[monolike]

I was thinking about that, actually. Or maybe even going to some of the businesses and asking the people who built them. [Y'know, right to the source.]

We usually end up in a system for at least a few weeks. How about you try to convince someone to let you apprentice with them for a while?

[That could be interesting to see, at least.]

[monolike]

Hmm...that's not a bad idea. [A REALLY not bad idea.] I could do the apprenticeship during the day, then come out here at night and hunt...

[tsunergy]

And try not to exhaust yourself in the process?

[You know, that thing where you push yourself by doing too much.]

[monolike]

Mikleo, c'mon! When else am I gonna get to exhaust myself?

Besides constantly?

[It's practically an art form for him.]

I'll come along, then. If only to make sure you at least get a meal in between.

[Also he's super interested in the solar stuff and will take about a million notes, but.]

Uh huh, thanks Mikleo. [Sorey rolls his eyes a little bit, but he's still smiling as he finishes washing the feathers. They don't do much more hunting; mostly they explore, enjoy each other's company. Sorey plucks a few of the more vibrant feathers to hand to Mikleo and they stay there by the stream, shoes discarded and pants rolled up as they dip their feet into the water as they talk until the sun sets.

It's almost like home. Almost.]
