[ Cyril's excitement is infectious and all Leilani can do is follow him around, clearly sharing in his delight. She knows that the process, once she's picked a set of prosthetics, isn't going to be comfortable - the mechanics here have talked about nerve endings and attachments and all sorts of things that make her feel a bit on edge, but given her history? She thinks she can handle whatever kind of pain they're going to throw at her. It can't be half as bad as the Anchor.

Shaking her head, she reaches out to look at one of her own, flexing the metallic fingers and testing them before she replies to the man beside her. ]

I'm not sure we have the technology to make them quite as adept, but we have metals and magic. Surely there must be a way to power these things magically rather than using the electronics - or kinetics? The mechanic I spoke to earlier mentioned that they're powered by the energy a body makes.

[ She hums thoughtfully. ]

I was planning on purchasing a few, just in case.

[samahl]

[Honestly, it hurt so much to lose his hand, it seems almost right that it hurt to replace it. He watches her move the fingers of the hand and can't help but be impressed by how naturally it moves.]

I can see why you would want to. Perhaps there are some with interchangeable parts? Then you could have a different look for different days.

[veilstrike]

That's what I have been considering. I've been told there are some better for fighting and hunting, so I wanted one of those as well.

[ She's giddy with the prospect of having two arms again and it's clear just how excited she is. ]

[samahl]

I can understand that. I think the worst part of all of this was the sense of... helplessness.

[Then he chuckles a bit, trying not to dwell on the negative.] Here I was trying to figure out how to make a crossbow arm, and this technology was here the whole time.

Maybe I still can make it, but incorporate some of this into it?

[veilstrike]

It doesn't matter how much magic I had left. People just saw that I had one arm.

[ But she shrugs, looking down at the prosthetics. It's a whole world of options and there's no end to the different things. ]

It can't be too difficult a thing to manage. Are there any that you've seen that might be easy to adapt?

[samahl]

[Cyril nods.] Yes. I think so. I'll need to learn a bit about how the different parts of it work.

[veilstrike]

Perhaps that is something we can learn together.

[samahl]

[He looks up and gives her a sincere smile.] I'd like that. A journey is always better with good company.
