[His babies(/siblings) (yikes) are horrific monsters, but he's actually the anomaly; being a fey and gorgeous Greek statue of a young man is absolutely not what his sort of Angel should be like. Castiel's pretty, yeah.

His eyebrows raise, though. He doesn't stop smiling, because he's smiling more often than not, but his lips do part and he makes a quiet sound that's either understanding, or the lack of it.] Several others have thought I am one, just for the name of my kin. It's good to meet you. [He rocks back on his heels a little, and both hands are in his pockets again.] It's good.

[And then he's way more boyish than his kajillion-year-old glow.] Yes, please give me one, if you will.

[M'kay gonna load up this alien hot dog. Cas is getting that same hair-raising feeling he usually gets when supremely outclassed by his older brothers around this kid, but at least he doesn't seem outwardly hostile, so better to leave it alone. No need to spoil for a fight that isn't even there.]

I'm Castiel, [he offers as he hands over the hot dog, some of his more mortal habits falling to the wayside instinctively. His expression barely twitches, though his mind's going a mile a minute.]

[Ah, the way to Kaworu's heart isn't hard at all... He returns the introduction:] Kaworu. [It's simpler than most of his greetings, but he's busy taking the hot dog in both hands, doing it like he might do when taking a porcelain cup. His eyes light up. Just because he's quiet doesn't mean he's not unfurling with joy. Like, actual joy. It's a hot dog, dude.

When he takes his first bite, he might as well be blissed out into a state of zen.]

Thanks. It's great. This is a special meeting, Castiel.

[Yeah see most of the angel meetings he's had in the past couple years have ended in either a) death or b) some more death or, the much rarer c) abject disgrace and hurt feelings. So seeing another angel-adjacent person actually happy about meeting with him...

Well, it kind of helps cement that whatever Kaworu is, he couldn't possibly be an angel of Castiel's world.]

I don't understand what makes it special. [Hold on gotta prep another 'dog for this mighty hungry fella over here]

[Kaworu, meanwhile, tends toward the other end of the spectrum, and it's... not always... a solid landing, if you aren't some desperately lonely child soldier seeking validation from a guy you think is super hot. Or if you're otherwise not charmed by his particular brand of melodramatic charisma.

He fills some pretty specific criteria.

But he says,] You. [He's totally unembarrassed when he also says,] Being fed by you. [And if that all weren't bad enough, he's great at escalating catastrophic situations:] And hot dogs. [He hasn't entirely swallowed his mouthful, but he still manages to sound like he should be narrating planetarium shows, elegantly describing wonder. It's hot dogs though.]

Who knows if I would have had this otherwise. This moment would not be the same without you, and without this moment, I would not know you.

Special, right? Moment to moment.

[There are zero moments in which he doesn't lay it on pretty thick.]

...you should probably raise your standards, [Cas responds, likely in a way he thinks is funny, 100% in a way he learned from Dean. Sarcasm! The best natural shield for your emotional vulnerability.]

To what? [He still sounds mellow, everything easy, but it's a direct question and his quiet eyes are looking for a direct answer. If he thinks it's funny, or if he doesn't, he's got that same smile regardless. Really placid.]

[Dean would probably liken the guy to something like 'Children of the Corn' or whatever, and think himself clever for it.] Something better than these hot dogs, for starters. There are a lot of preservatives in these.

I am well-preserved. [He certainly sounds confident in that, but he actually says it because he's not sure what else to say. It's not something he's learned much about before. He's taking another bite, too, either encouraged or encouraging about it.]

[Is that a joke? ...no, probably not. Fuck man, living with the Winchesters (Dean) has like, gaslighted the shit out of Cas for actual real honest conversations] Yeah, I guess you wouldn't have to worry about that.

[Looks to be time for Castiel, then, to strap in for a bouncy baby ride: Kaworu is too real, too much of the time. When he isn't earnest, he's playing at repression, but outside of that...] Yes, please. It would make a nice day even nicer. [...he really means the crap he says. Whether or not that's concerning is up to his audience.]

You're good at this, Castiel.

I've had practice. I worked at a Gas n' Sip when I was mortal for a time. [YOU'RE STILL WRONG, but Cas can see how in comparison to other angels he might be seen as 'good' at 'this.' Since the idea of watching his siblings work at a Gas n' Sip is...horrific.]

"Gas n' Sip". [It shouldn't be enunciated so carefully. But, look, Kaworu isn't stellar when it comes to context clues, and he takes a moment to parse what this might mean. He has other questions, too, anyway.]

Did you die? [he asks, and it's somehow gentle and intrusive at once.]

Not in that instance. [HE DIED...SO MANY OTHER TIME] That's a long and shameful story that I don't wish to share.

Then I won't ask you to share it. [Something something free will and the joy of choice. He does wonder, though, mortality and all. How that works for whom, and when, and why.

He polishes off that hot dog instead, though.]

I have not seen any other Angel of my kind to know shame, but I haven't been offered good things to eat by them, either. It's important to learn things like this.
