Wow, really? This whole city is powered by the sun? [She glances from him back toward the buildings.] I've never seen anything like this system before.

I know, it's really neat. [Sorey gestures to the towering tree buildings, pointing out certain structures.] We've seen houses like this before, where the homes were built right into the trees, and we've seen really advanced buildings, but not like this. Not where the species developed technology and made it work in harmony with nature.

[He is really loving this, and it's easy to see why.]

I'd love to learn more about how this works. Have you spoken with anyone and asked if they'd show you the conversion process?

I haven't yet, but I was gonna. Did you wanna come with me?

Hmm...well, I was thinking we could ask around some of the businesses, see if they'd be willing to give a tour. Maybe a factory or power station?

That sounds like a good idea. I bet a power station wouldn't mind giving us a tour.

[ She turns from the structure to face him and gives a little shrug. ]

Any idea where one is?

[monolike]

Nope! We're just gonna have to pick one and start. [So Sorey points at the closest building, covered in glass and tree planters, and starts for it.] Let's go! Onward to knowledge and adventure!

[Katara can't help but laugh at that a little. Knowledge and adventure, huh?] Onward it is!

[She follows along beside him.] So have you done anything with any of the teams on the planet?

[monolike]

[The walkway into one of the buildings is long and winding, a ramp that passes through a lush garden that Sorey absolutely stops to admire.] Mm, not really...I like to watch some of the contests, but I'm- Team competitions like that aren't really my thing.

They're a lot of fun if you're playing in one that you enjoy. I'm not sure I understand what the big deal is with just watching... and I definitely don't understand why everyone is so involved in them that everything is stamped with one of the team names.

[ It was more like some kind of national pride than anything else. It was so strange to her. ]

I don't really get the team thing either. I know it's all in good fun but drawing lines between people like that... [Reminds him too much of darker things.] A-anyway, it looks like this place really enjoys it, and so long as nobody's getting hurt there isn't any harm to it. Right?

[ Katara gives him a brief, assessing look at she trails off, but she decides not to pursue it. ]

Actually, it looks like it brings people together almost as much as it separates them. Even though they're cheering for different teams, they're all in the same place. And it gives them a lot to talk about. So that's nice, at least.

[monolike]

Hmm...I didn't think about it like that. [Of course, they don't really have 'team sports' back home. If people end up separating themselves from others, it's usually to hold power over them or to go to war with them.] Even if they're at odds with each other?

[ She shrugs. ] Like you said, it's not as though they're actually fighting about it. It's actually amazing, when you think about it, how unified they are over competition.

[ She's never seen anything like this before. ]

[monolike]

I guess you're right. [It's kind of like how he and Mikleo get about ruins; they get competitive of course, but they still care about each other.] It's like...everyone already understands how it goes. Like there's this trust among people who haven't even met, to respect each other.

[ Katara pauses to watch as a band of Waves go by with someone on their shoulders, shouting congratulations to each other. ] ...I mean, it's still strange, but... yeah, it's like a whole other language, almost.

[monolike]

Yeah. [Sorey watches them too, a little wistful.] ...it's nice.

[.....anyway. Sorey clears his throat.] Um- right. This place looks good. Maybe we can just go in and ask some people inside if they do tours.

Why not? [Worth a shot, anyway. She starts toward the door.] Let's go ask.
