[ Stephen isn't left alone for long as he turns back around at the other edge of the beach and comes running back toward him. Seeing the other guy stopped, he slows his pace and does the same not too far from him. ]

Having trouble keeping up?

[ Of course he'd noticed someone following him, or rather, trying. It's a noble effort, at least. ]

[Stephen chuckles breathlessly, hands on his knees as he tries to regain a normal breathing rhythm.]

That obvious, huh?

[He doesn't like to admit it, but he's nowhere in a shape to compete with Bucky, even if the man was to pick a more normal pace for a human being. It's a humbling realization that Stephen really needs to hit the gym more often.]

I might be too old to try and keep up.

[He jokes, because that's easier than to admit defeat. Not that he even had the slightest chance of keeping up.]

You say that, but you did make the effort. Most wouldn't have, it's admirable.

[True, but he's not most men. Well, he likes to think that he isn't. This is quite a harsh reminder that he's just human. Maybe one day they can have a race while he's wearing the Cloak. Seems that this competitive world is finally getting to him.

Stephen straightens and nods curtly.]

Thanks, I suppose. Are you training for any the competitions in this system?

[Small talk, yes, but Stephen knows better than to ask upfront if the rumors about Bucky not being entirely human. That'd be rude, right?]
