[She shuffles the cards, before handing the deck to Han to cut.]
Of course, this also might be a part of your strategy.
no subject
[ He cuts the cards like someone who sort of knows what he's doing. More or less. He's at least played something before, maybe not this something. ]
What do we deal here, six? Or seven?
no subject
[That something may be a strategy, or it may be a card. Not that she'd directly accuse Han of cheating, of course. But it's always better to be cautious.]
Seven should suffice.

[ He deals a little more fluidly, his casual and cheery smile not at all flagging as he sets the rest of the deck down. ]
Where'd you learn to play?
no subject
[She grins. Han may be technically telling the truth, but she's smart enough to still keep an eye out.]
I imagine you learned to play somewhere much different.
no subject
[ not that he'd exactly... Argue. He doesn't sound offended, lazily rearranging the cards in his hand. ]
You know, you pick up games here and there. Mostly we play sabacc, but they don't have it here, I don't think.
no subject
[Which is very.]
I can't say I've ever heard of Sabacc, no.
no subject
[ He'd do a better job of seeming wounded if he made any effort whatsoever. ]
That's too bad-- it's a great game. I should see if I could work up a version with the cards they've got here.
no subject
[She calls them as she sees them.]
What sort of game is it?
no subject
[ His ego is sufficient. Also, not-so-secretly, he delights in being taken for a criminal. He works hard to be criminal, damn it. ]
Oh, there are lots of varieties. Some are like this, raising the stakes 'til someone calls your bluff. Some just about learning to read your opponent. In the big casinos there're ones where the cards change values 'til someone sets them.
