Not in many, many years. I've taken steps both back home and here to make sure it won't happen.

Even so . . . if I stay hungry for too long, I end up eating more than just someone's nightmares. I'll eat their dreams, their hopes, their ambitions - everything that makes them human, and all that remains is an empty shell. [she breathes out] It's a horrible fate. I wouldn't. [Yeah he gets it. There's comfort to be found in having someone around who will prevent you from becoming what you despise.] In a place like this, where it seems like manipulation on that level isn't just possible but more or less commonplace, I can understand the necessity of safeguards.
