[ She braces her hands on the counter and just breathes for a minute, trying to settle her nerves. She can't be this nervous now the thing won't even start for another few days. ]

[ At least if she spends those days stress-baking, she shouldn't have to worry about what to do with the leftovers. ]

[ Aside from the fact that he definitely thinks she deserves validation-- people need it. It feels shitty to have to admit, but it's how people work. He thinks back sometimes to what she'd said after he found Sophia's doll-- that he was every bit as good as Rick or Shane-- and what a difference it made.

Needing to hear it now and then doesn't make you weak.

He leans on the counter, lifts his chin in a vague nod. ]
