[open] Catch-all!
Who: Lance and you!
Broadcast: No
Action: Planetside
When: All this month!
[A - Swimming]
[It hadn't taken him long to choose his team, the Waves. Shark mascot? Love of water-based sports? Liberal use of the color blue? Heck yeah, he's in.
(That, and being on a different team from Keith means that he can kick his butt in competitions, which is obviously the most important thing here.)
The first competition he signs up for is a swimming race. He hasn't properly partaken in them since high school, where he was the star of the swim team, thank you very much. Lots of time in the Iskaulit's pool has kept him in shape and in practice, and he's excited to put those skills to the test. He puts his money where is mouth is, so to speak, and all his bragging isn't just for show-- Lance manages to win several races, and at least place in the top three in the ones he doesn't.
Feel free to watch him compete and cheer him on! Or you can catch him between or after the races, walking around in a navy blue speedo (purely for aerodynamics, of course) and being his charming self to any fans he might get.]
[B - Racing]
[Lance has gotta go fast, and not just in a pool. He hasn't been able to properly race in a vehicle meant for it in a long time now, so he signs up for all manner of races on land and air. Cars, shuttles, bikes... He's best at the shuttle races, of course, being a pilot and all. Not as great at the others due to lack of practice, but he still fares decently enough.
It isn't just vehicle races, either; Lance enters running competitions as well. Other than the shuttle runs, this is where he shines the most in this general category, and he places high in nearly all the races.
Again, cheer him on for anything he's in! Find him relaxing between races, relaxing and hydrating, because he doesn't want to overdo it. Not unless a certain mulleted paladin is in the line-up. If that's the case, you'll either find him crowing if he wins, or sulking if he loses. There's probably more of the former than the latter, unfortunately, but not all!]
[C - Beach]
[If there's a beach, Lance will go to it. No questions asked. He spends time nearly every day on one of the beaches, either laid out tanning on the sand or swimming in the ocean. He even partakes in some volleyball tournaments, because why not? Lance might be rusty, but he used to play a ton of beach volleyball back in Cuba. It helped living right by the shore.
It's clear that this is where Lance is in his best element, and more relaxed and carefree than he normally is. Sometimes, though, he'll just be sitting there looking at the waves, looking nostalgic and a little sad. Homesickness will never go away.]
[D - Other competitions]
[He's putting all of his talents to the test here. Lance is competitive by nature, of course. Aside from the aforementioned competitions, he also signs up for a few more. Archery and sharpshooting are at the top of that list. For all the bragging he does about himself, he really does live up to the "sharpshooter" nickname, and easily wins gold in the majority of games he's in. Archery is a little more difficult, but his natural dexterity and aim lead him to be pretty successful.
He's proudest of himself and looks it when he wins the sharpshooting contests. After all, that's his role in Voltron, isn't it?]
[E - Hot Springs/Spa]
[Lance will never, ever say no to a spa day. It just might rank up there in some of his favorite things in the world. He can be found every few days enjoying and pampering himself at the spa, and soaking in the hot springs located there as well. You can join him in some good ol' fashioned R&R, or just stop him from spending too much money on beauty products in the gift shop.]
[F - Other]
[Anything else! He'll be popping in and out of plenty of places on the planet. Shopping? Going to the water park? Sightseeing? Anything goes!]

The other races, though... Lance was going to have quite the challenge. That was Keith's element, especially the vehicular races. Lance's longer strides matched Keith's speed, and they alternated wins and tied a lot in the foot races. Sometimes, Keith didn't even care if he won the race overall. He just wanted to cross the line before Lance and tease him about, claiming a victory kiss or two while his boyfriend pouted.
Keith was not, however, a big volleyball player, so he sat and cheered Lance on for those, and then, during one of the breaks, Keith helped Lance stake out a good spot on the sand for them to relax.]
That was a good match.
[Honestly? Keith had no idea, but Lance's team had won and it wasn't against Keith's team, so it was good in that respect.]
no subject
Not that he doesn't push himself extra hard when Keith's part of the race.
It's nice to be cheered on during beach volleyball, and after another win, he flops down on the sand next to him with a grin.]
The other team had no chance.
no subject
No, I guess not.
[He laid down next to Lance.]
How many more do you have to play?
no subject
[He leans in a bit, bumping their shoulders together.]
no subject
[Keith leaned in and gave Lance a quick kiss.]
Stay there. I'll be back.
[This was Lance's tournament, so Keith was going to be the cheering section and everything else. He didn't mind. He came back with something that looked like seafood. Considering they were on the beach, that made sense.]
I tried some of the samples... it was pretty good. [He handed one of the containers to Lance as he sat down.]

C because why not
And of course practically every time he was there, there was a certain young paladin either playing or relaxing on the beach. Today he happened to be laying on the sand rather than doing something else. So Ulaz walked over]
You must really like places like this.
no subject
I do. It reminds me of home. I grew up right next to the beach... My siblings and I spent soooooo much time there.
no subject
I see. Must have been nice, getting to spend time in a place like this.
[He was finding it wasn't so bad here. Too bad he's not dressed for it at all]
What sort of things did you do at the beach?
no subject
A looooot of swimming and playing games in the water. Sometimes we'd just sunbathe, or build sand castles. If we were by a net, we'd play volleyball, like what I've been doing here. Except with less rules and a lot of intentional aiming at the head.
[Sometimes the kids in his family played rough, okay...]

Are all those creams really necessary?
[They're just so many, ok, and curiosity has finally taken the best of him. Please ignore the cute, blue tapir plushie under his arm.]
no subject
Extremely necessary. Some are for my face, some are for the rest of my skin. I'm trying to get some that I think would work great on Keith, too, even if getting him to use them is gonna be harder than a one on one fight with a robeast without my lion.
no subject
[He says that as a joke, not as a challenge. Someone forgot who he's talking to for a moment here.]
no subject
[Grin.
Sorry, Shiro, you said it.]

Woooo! GO LANCE. Kick butt!!!
no subject
It's Lance's last race for the day, and he manages to take first place. Kind of surprisingly to him, considering how tired he is at this point. Once it's over, he waves to Sokka and runs over, completely ignoring all the no-running-near-the-pool rules his mom used to drill into his head.]
Heeeeeeeey! Thanks for coming by, man!
no subject
Of course! I gotta support my bro. You absolutely nailed that competition, the Waves are gonna kick every butt this season.
no subject
[Yeah, his rivalry's in full gear now.]
I haven't really swam competitively since high school, but man, I still got it.

Turning his head, he sees Lance, and makes a curious noise.]
You're one one of the ships. I forgot which, but I remember that face.
no subject
Yeah, I am! I'm aboard the Huntress, formerly of the Blameless. I'm almost positive I've seen you around the fleet before. I can't blame you, though, my face is hard to forget.
no subject
[A bucket is orbiting close to his feet as he walks over.]
I felt bad for the shipmates who had to wake up to that. Burnt cocoa seeps into everything.
no subject
Uhhhh...yeah, that was Hunk and me... We didn't burn down the kitchen, though! Just...kind of made a small fire.
[He sulks. Who knew that you couldn't just directly melt chocolate on the stove?]

Turns out having free time takes some adjustment.
He goes in for archery because... Well, if he's playing, he's picking a game he knows. He hasn't joined a team, but fortunately there are plenty of friendly people on all of them loaning equipment. Right now, in the waiting area with Lance, he's testing the pull on an ornately painted Brightbirds bow. ]
Looks like a damn toy, [ he remarks, with a huff of a laugh. ]
no subject
Oh my god... Seriously! I don't wanna dump on any other teams cause of sportsmanship...well, aside from the Starstrikers... But that could totally be marketed towards kids.
no subject
Weight's okay, at least. Nice of 'em to lend it.
[ otherwise competing would be a lot harder ]
Which one's Starstriker?
no subject
[Specifically, the person Lance wanted to compete against most joined them, so.]
Maybe you can make some money with winnings to get one of your own, if that's your weapon of choice!
