[A - Swimming]
[It hadn't taken him long to choose his team, the Waves. Shark mascot? Love of water-based sports? Liberal use of the color blue? Heck yeah, he's in.

(That, and being on a different team from Keith means that he can kick his butt in competitions, which is obviously the most important thing here.)

The first competition he signs up for is a swimming race. He hasn't properly partaken in them since high school, where he was the star of the swim team, thank you very much. Lots of time in the Iskaulit's pool has kept him in shape and in practice, and he's excited to put those skills to the test. He puts his money where is mouth is, so to speak, and all his bragging isn't just for show-- Lance manages to win several races, and at least place in the top three in the ones he doesn't.

Feel free to watch him compete and cheer him on! Or you can catch him between or after the races, walking around in a navy blue speedo (purely for aerodynamics, of course) and being his charming self to any fans he might get.]


[B - Racing]

[Lance has gotta go fast, and not just in a pool. He hasn't been able to properly race in a vehicle meant for it in a long time now, so he signs up for all manner of races on land and air. Cars, shuttles, bikes... He's best at the shuttle races, of course, being a pilot and all. Not as great at the others due to lack of practice, but he still fares decently enough.

It isn't just vehicle races, either; Lance enters running competitions as well. Other than the shuttle runs, this is where he shines the most in this general category, and he places high in nearly all the races.

Again, cheer him on for anything he's in! Find him relaxing between races, relaxing and hydrating, because he doesn't want to overdo it. Not unless a certain mulleted paladin is in the line-up. If that's the case, you'll either find him crowing if he wins, or sulking if he loses. There's probably more of the former than the latter, unfortunately, but not all!]


[C - Beach]

[If there's a beach, Lance will go to it. No questions asked. He spends time nearly every day on one of the beaches, either laid out tanning on the sand or swimming in the ocean. He even partakes in some volleyball tournaments, because why not? Lance might be rusty, but he used to play a ton of beach volleyball back in Cuba. It helped living right by the shore.

It's clear that this is where Lance is in his best element, and more relaxed and carefree than he normally is. Sometimes, though, he'll just be sitting there looking at the waves, looking nostalgic and a little sad. Homesickness will never go away.]


[D - Other competitions]

[He's putting all of his talents to the test here. Lance is competitive by nature, of course. Aside from the aforementioned competitions, he also signs up for a few more. Archery and sharpshooting are at the top of that list. For all the bragging he does about himself, he really does live up to the "sharpshooter" nickname, and easily wins gold in the majority of games he's in. Archery is a little more difficult, but his natural dexterity and aim lead him to be pretty successful.

He's proudest of himself and looks it when he wins the sharpshooting contests. After all, that's his role in Voltron, isn't it?]


[E - Hot Springs/Spa]

[Lance will never, ever say no to a spa day. It just might rank up there in some of his favorite things in the world. He can be found every few days enjoying and pampering himself at the spa, and soaking in the hot springs located there as well. You can join him in some good ol' fashioned R&R, or just stop him from spending too much money on beauty products in the gift shop.]


[F - Other]

[Anything else! He'll be popping in and out of plenty of places on the planet. Shopping? Going to the water park? Sightseeing? Anything goes!]

I mean, the basics is that you just have to make your opponent on the other side of the net be unable to hit the ball back. You can only use your hands, and you can't grab the ball, either. You can only hit it. Underhand, overhand, whatever, just as long as you're not actually holding the ball.

[He looks Ulaz over. Hmmmm, he might have to take him swimsuit shopping.]

[And he was still studying the game as Lance was explaining it. He could definitely see how the game worked between the explanation and through observation. It didn't seem like that hard of a game. He could probably do it without much more explanation than that. Of course he would have to be careful, playing against people having far less training than he had]

I would try it.

[Lance punches his fist into the air. Victory! He's always happy when he can convince someone to have fun, especially when the person in question probably doesn't usually seek it out on their own.]

Sweet! There are some exhibition games tomorrow--that means they're just for fun--so we got the whole day to set you up. First, you're gonna need a swimsuit!

[Well, Lance was definitely happy about that answer. It pleased him to know that not only was someone willing to spend time with him, but they were excited to do so. The idea of games for fun sounded like a good way to try this out. He had height on his side at least. Or maybe that would be a disadvantage?

But he did raise an eyebrow at that last comment]

A swimsuit?

[the_tailor]

Yeah, a swimsuit! Like what I'm wearing!

[He gestures down to himself. Granted, Lance is wearing a speedo, so...]

Uh, maybe not exactly like what I'm wearing, if that shows too much skin for you. You can go with swimming trunks too! Those are basically like shorts.

[Ulaz looked down at what Lance was wearing when he mention it. Yeah no... he was not doing - what was it? - a speedo]

We could look at other options besides a speedo. I haven't looked for something like that before. Or at least for a long time.

[the_tailor]

It's cool, we'll find something that makes you look great. I think there's a good clothing shop that sells them not too far from here, wanna go now?

[It's okay. Not everyone loves speedos. He forgives you.]

[No point in putting it off. Besides, the water might be nice, but he wasn't silly enough to go into the water with every day clothes on]

Lead the way.

[He nods at him, pulling on a pair of shorts he has for himself, since going through town in a speedo is kind of a no-go for him. No shirt, though, because it's hot out and no one cares, it's a beach town after all. Sandals go on as well--Lance isn't burning his feet on hot concrete.

Lance leads him away from the sand and towards the town proper.]

So how do you like the beach, anyway? I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you didn't get much of a chance back home to just chill out by the water.

[Ulaz waited patiently as Lance got himself ready to go. The fact that he has to cover up his suit only seems to prove more that Ulaz should not be wearing one of those. But he understood the shoes at least. The ground was hot.

And he followed after Lance when the other started to head towards town, slowing his normally long strides to be able to keep pace with the shorter paladin]

No, I did not have this opportunity for far too long. I like it. When there are not a lot of people, it is relaxing and you can hear the water.

[He's glad for Ulaz to keep pace with him; usually Lance, with his long legs for a human, is in that position. But he's learned after having little cousins scurrying to keep pace with him how to walk.]

It's one of the best sounds in the universe. When I was on Earth... I grew up right next to the ocean. So being here and hearing it just reminds me of that.

[With other Galra, that normally wasn't a problem. With humans, his legs were much longer so he had to adjust his pace accordingly. He'd gotten practice being around non-Galra races, most of whom were significantly shorter]

That sounds like it would be a nice place to grow up. I can't say I wouldn't enjoy something like that.

[His first thought is to blurt out "Hey, when we end up home, I'll totally take you to where I grew up so you can see what it's like!"

But reality quickly hits him--

He isn't going to think about that right now.]

Hopefully we stop by a lot of systems that have beaches, then. Maybe we can have a whole Team Voltron and friends picnic!

[If that were possible, he would have gone. Even if it had been said, Ulaz would have appreciated the thought behind it even if he knew it was impossible]

Hmm... that would be nice. Can't say I've been to one of those in more deca-phoebs that I can remember.

[But he does remember it?]

Yeah, I guess you Marmorites don't have a lot of downtime to chill out, do you? It's good you're here, then! And you have the best person to show you how to have fun right here.

[Lance grins at him.]

Marmorites? [Yeah, not a name he had ever heard used to describe the Blades. As far as he referred to them, it was usually Blades]

No, downtime is a luxury we don't usually have. Even less so for those agents who have been placed with Zarkon's ranks. There is no letting your guard down.

This has really been first chance since longer than I can tell. It has been nice. You are best?

I think it sounds cool. I mean, sure, Blades is really cool, but then someone might get confused if you're talking about your group or their cutlery drawer.

[He stretches out his arms in front of him.]

Of course I'm the best! I'm the guy to go to for all things fun and recreation. I'll show you a bunch of awesome stuff that you couldn't get to do with that ugly purple turtle people call emperor.

I don't think anyone has confused us for eating utensils. [Just saying]

[It takes a moment and Ulaz looks confused. Finally he seems to understand and Lance actually gets a faint snicker at that. Okay, he'll bite]

Good. Then I will expect you to do that.

You never know, okay? Better safe than sorry.

And yeah. I mean, c'mon, am I right or am I right.

[Lance smirks.]

I suppose we can say that if you are concerned we will be mistaken for silverware.

He is an old Galra... but his appearance after what has happened is not the same as it once was.

[Well-ingrained habits against insulting the Emperor are hard to break... even if he thinks he's a tyrant]

I guess, but...eh, whatever, enough about the tortoise. Let's talk about you. What's your sense of fashion? I mean, before you joined the Blades and all that, what did you like to wear?

[He's gotta figure out a starting point.]

Before that has been quite a long time and I'm not sure what fashions are like here. I would welcome suggestions.

Well, let's see. We'll definitely want to go with some colors that flatter your skin color. I've never had to deal with purple before, but I'm good at the color wheel! Nothing too bright or flashy... Probably some dark stuff with more colorful accents. Though we can definitely get you some more colorful stuff too for more fun occasions.

[He grins up at him. ...God, he's tall.]

As for style, well, let's have you try on a bunch of stuff and we'll see what looks best on you. And work from there. We'll have you looking fashionable and irresistible in no time!

Darker seems to be colors that I have gone for.

[Yeah... he was basically an alien ninja to the humans if he knew what a ninja was. He was used to dark colors.

Also he had to look down at Lance as they walked as well. There was a significant height difference between them, Galra definitely being the taller of the two races]

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try different options on both for style and color. I could agree with looking fashionable, but I don't really have much interest in looking irresistible.

Then darker. But if you're gonna be in the sun like this, then you want something lighter, or else you're going to get way overheated. Trust me on that.
