Waystation Mingle Log!
Who: GAME-WIDE MINGLE aka everyone
Broadcast: If you want
Action: The Stations!
When: From 04/05 through the month of April.
[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.
Make your own prompts, set up your own Virtual Realities, etc! For reference, the OOC post with info is over here!]

It's only when he thinks she's finished that he steps forward, clearing his throat in warning.]
Lioriley, I don't mean to intrude but I was enamored by the sights. Is this your city?
[He won't ask about the statues. Not yet, at least, though the temptation's strong.]

Mattias! [ she squeaks out his name, fumbles to try and shift the images around them to something else - some other section of the city. She eventually decides on the snowy courtyard outside of the massive spiral tower where she once resided. good enough. ] It is - or a part of it, at the very least. I did not suspect this device could recreate it in its entirety.

[The statues aren't forgotten but they're pushed to the side. The snow is enough to distract him, though it feels differently than when Robin first showed him, a faint warmth lining the manufactured cold. Crouching, he sinks into the snow, enjoying the accuracy of the crunch. With a smile, he closes his eyes, chuckling.] I've dreamed of a place like this.

You will not have to dream much longer, my friend. With this device, I can show you as much as I can of the city - for what it is worth, for being so artificial. [ no matter how artificial it is though, everything seems to be perfectly placed. the massive, spiraling stone tower overlooking the courtyard even holds the same indents and scorch marks left by young training mages. it's eerie, but comforting in a way. ]
Snow is unfamiliar to you as well, I take it?

"With the darkness left the cold and all her children, fleeing to the nightmother's embrace." [Plainly recited, he glances upwards, scooping up a heaping handful of the snow.] An old version of the myth. Snow, winter's chill? They only exist in writing now, and old ones at that.
[He drops the snow and laughs in delight as it forms another hole. And here he thought it'd sit on top.] Contemporary sources don't speak of it. I think they prefer to pretend it forgotten.
[Standing, he wipes his hands clean despite them not being dirty.] A tour sounds lovely, Lioriley. And overdue, if I remember your promise.

until then, she smiles and offers a hand out to him once he's finished playing in the snow. which, by the way, she finds absolutely precious. ]
I do indeed. Shall we start at the beginning? [ and by that she means, shall they start at the front gates of the city as she switches the images once more. this time she adds in the npcs - elven knights clad in armor standing guard beside the heavy metal gate that leads into the city proper. the outskirts of the city seem to be surrounded by trees and a heavy darkness, where the only illumination is the faint dancing light in the distance that almost beckons them to venture there instead. ]

Lioriley, what's over here?
[He can barely see and it's breathtaking. He finds himself falling for the illusion, walking to the limit of the room and touching the wall where the lights fade into the distance.] Can I see it? I hate to ask for a detour so soon but...
[He drifts off, distracted by the faint bobbing of the light.]

she can change it at will, but she still warns him: ] It would be wise to stay close. These woods are meant to confuse and disorient those who are unfamiliar with them.
[ on that note, she steps forward - lighting the path faintly with her leylines as she heads toward a particular patch of glowing orbs. which, upon closer inspection, seem to be tiny, fluttering creatures. ]

He falls in step behind her, watching both her glow and her forest because, indeed, it seems to be hers. The creatures earn marked interest as well, but he stills that for now, pressing forward with his first curiosity.] And you? You seem familiar. Have you mastered this forest's trickery?
no subject
one of the fluttering creatures zips toward mattias, bounces around near his head and it sounds like it's whispering something in some strange language. ] And those are the Fae. They often assist in said trickery. [ jerks. ]
